Question: Wouldn't Jonathan age much faster than Mavis, thus meaning he would die long before her?

Chosen answer: Yes, though the Draculas could turn him into a vampire.

Question: What was the point of Jamal explaining the cost of pani puri? Did he really not know the answer to the simple question?

Chosen answer: I believe it was to demonstrate that as a "slumdog" he knew some things but not others. He obviously did not know the answer to the question asked on the game show that the police chief asks him about, so to defend himself, he proves that he DOES know some things: just things that not everyone knows.

Question: When Pippin and Merry are with the orcs (or uruk-hai or whatever they're called) one of the orcs keeps insisting on eating them. What does he mean when he says, "Do they give good sport?" And then he does this weird thing with his tongue to which Merry looks at him oddly. I don't know what he meant by that. (00:29:45)

Zinka17

Chosen answer: "Do they give good sport" is simply a way of asking whether they're being kept alive to provide later entertainment; could they be used in some sort of organised hunt, could they serve as gladiatorial fodder in an arena fight, that sort of thing. The weird thing with the tongue really just seems to be a sort of odd tic, designed to emphasise his rather disgusting nature.

The Guitar Player Returns - S1-E31

Question: The type of sports car Jim Lindsey drives is not shown in this episode - what car is it? (00:02:30 - 00:03:30)

jpccook

Answer: The car appears to be a Mercedes-Benz 190 SL. I cannot tell which year.

Chosen answer: It is only mentioned as being a "red sports car." The Andy Griffith show was made long before "product placement" became common in movies and TV shows, and brand names were rarely, if ever, identified.

Not true. Ford provided the cars and the squad cars were all Ford Galaxies. That would explain not showing the badge on any non-Ford car.

Wasabi Warriors - S1-E1

Question: We learn in the "Wasabi Warriors" episode that Kim is a proud member of the Black Dragons; does anybody else wonder why she didn't get involved in the cafeteria fight when she saw her teammates getting beaten up?

Chosen answer: If you noticed, Kim was not sitting with the Black Dragons, so it's safe to assume that she didn't approve of their bullying tactics. She also flashed Jack a smile during the fight, so it's pretty obvious she had no interest in getting involved.

Answer: Because she must have not liked to get in fights or she doesn't like the male black dragons.

Question: Why did Mahoney get a medal at the end? All he did was run up a building and got himself taken hostage. Hightower deserved his cause he knocked the guy out, saved Harris and Mahoney and defused the situation. Even if it was for bravery or heroism, Mahoney achieved nothing with his actions and shouldn't have been rewarded.

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: Just because you fail in your attempt at heroics doesn't mean you weren't brave as hell for trying. Mahoney knowingly put himself in a very dangerous situation with the sole intent of saving two of his fellow officers. That's bravery.

Question: Why was the design of Ghost Rider and the Hellcycle changed? Plus, in the first movie he had gained control of his transformation. So when he is trying to leave after interrogating a lowlife thug, does he look like he is unable to keep the Ghost Rider in check?

Chosen answer: They were changed to look "grittier". It was just a stylistic choice though, it's not really related to the plot in any way. As for the second part, at the end of the first movie, he had a much greater degree of control over the Rider, but not absolute control. Being in such a sinful place to interrogate the "thug" strained his ability to resist the transformation.

Radio Days - S6-E4

Question: I was wondering, when Rebbecca was doing the interview at the hospital, she called herself Rebecca Donaldson. I was wondering why she wasn't using her married name.

toriwaters117

Chosen answer: Celebrities and people in the public eye often decide to keep their name, at least when doing their performance or public appearances. It creates a continuity for fans who knew and followed them before their marriage. Anna Faris is married to Chris Pratt, but still uses Anna Faris as her name. Rebecca could easily change her name in her private life but remain Rebecca Donaldson when in the public eye.

Question: The character Mr. French pours a clear liquid out of a clear bottle before using a gun to shoot through the bottle and kill a man. Leonardo watches in disbelief and Mr. French then slaps him and tells him to: "wake the f**k up!" What did Mr. French pour out on the floor? What was the point? He just pours this mysterious liquid on the carpet, shoots a guy, the walks out. Help?

Chosen answer: Mr French just pours out lemonade. The empty bottle makes a useful, easily disposable, untraceable silencer (not a perfect one but good enough). Leo is shocked because he thought they were just going to rough the guy up, whilst French was always intending to kill the man, also this is the first murder that Leo has witnessed (that we know of).

Question: This is more of an observation than it is a question; however feel free to chime in with an answer. I realize that this is a "hidden footage" movie and each scene has to depict that. But Alex's actions at the end of the film seem to go against human logic. She finds her boyfriend dead in her closet, she knows her dad is across the street and that something is terribly wrong. Why would she take the time to find the video recorder, turn it on and take it with her to find her dad. Someone who just found a dead body in her closet would simply run out of the house or call the police; WITHOUT taking the time to worry about the camera.

Chosen answer: Maybe seeing the dead body in the closet prompted her to grab her camera in case she needed evidence to show the police who had killed her boyfriend and possibly her father. There is enough time between shots that it is possible she calls the police from her cell while grabbing the camera.

Question: What happened to Anakin Skywalker's father?

Casual Person

Chosen answer: According to his mother, there was no father; Anakin was conceived through the Force itself.Expanded Universe materials suggest that this occurred either as part of or as a consequence of Sith experiments carried out by Darth Plagueis, with the intent of creating the ultimate Sith apprentice.

Question: Bruce Banner brings up at one point what SHIELD is doing in the energy business. That is actually a good question. If they want to use the Tesseract to build weapons, why would they spend millions of dollars and their top researchers on energy?

Friso94

Chosen answer: Because the Tesseract is a powerful energy source and only by understanding that energy can they hope to harness it to create the weapons that they need. And there are other applications other than weapons. For example, SHIELD's Helicarrier clearly requires an insane amount of power to keep running; mastering the Tesseract and the potentially unlimited power it provides could give them a whole new range of options there. Likewise their ground installations, vehicles, equipment, all of these need power too. There are plenty of good reasons why SHIELD would look into non-weapon-based uses for the Tesseract's energies.

Question: Did Jim Morrison really go around falsely telling reporters that both his parents were dead? Or was that just an Oliver Stone embellishment?

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: That is actually true. Morrison grew up in a military family and his stern parents harshly disciplined their two sons by verbally assaulting them until they broke down in tears, were utterly humiliated and admitted to wrong-doing. Morrison broke off almost all contact with his family after graduating from college.

Question: In the Ministry of Magic when they try to get to Umbridge's locket, how does she knows that it's Harry? Did she use some magic?

Loesjuh1985

Chosen answer: Umbridge did not know that it was Harry. During the interrogation scene when they are trying to retrieve the locket, Harry is still disguised as Albert Runcorn by the Polyjuice potion. The only thing that Umbridge noticed was that Harry suddenly produced his wand from his coat sleeve. This made Umbridge suspicious and she asked "Albert" what he was doing. That is when the polyjuice potion started to wear off and Harry was transforming back to himself, but he "stupified" Umbridge before she knew exactly what was happening.

Question: At the end of the movie, what was the light seen at the castle and where does it lead?

Chosen answer: Lucifer was also known as the morning star. Depending on your view he passed the trial and was granted entrance through the ninth gate.

Question: Maybe I haven't watched this film properly, but I never got why the Krypton Council don't believe Jor-el when he says Krypton is going to explode. Why would they question someone as powerful as him, someone who was shown to be in charge of the punishment of Zod and Co.?

Heather Benton Premium member

Chosen answer: The Council believed that Jor-El was being an alarmist, that the changes in Krypton's core would only result in the planet's shifting orbit rather than the beginnings of a chain reaction that would destroy the world.

Question: Ralph is only the bad guy of the video game during the hours when the arcade is open, just like the other villains. In fact, when he is not playing his role, he acts like a good guy which he prefers, though some other video characters, including the Nicelanders, fear him, knowing he is supposed to be a villain. Particularly, Gene mistreats Ralph since he doesn't approve of Ralph's behavior of wrecking the building. Why is Ralph still treated like an enemy by Gene and the Nicelanders despite the fact that being the bad guy is only his role? Even if the Nicelanders know their game will be unplugged without Ralph being present?

Chosen answer: Because it's easier for them to simply tell themselves that that's what he is. Especially since he can still accidentally destroy an entire apartment without intending to. And they simply wouldn't imagine that Ralph would leave, because he'd end up just as homeless as them if he did.

The Shakespeare Code - S3-E2

Question: In this episode, at the end Queen Elizabeth comes in shocked and demands "Off with his head" showing she hates him or he has done wrong by her. But the episode where he does do wrong by her was never shown before his regeneration. I know he could have done it in his spare time but Matt Smith's Doctor says some things about her too (for example he says "Liz the first is still waiting in a glade to elope with me") showing that he has seen her since he regenerated. Basically I'm very confused and wondering why they didn't make the episode showing why she was so despised with him and then later explaining why she wanted to elope with him.

Hollie_Peacock

Chosen answer: In "The Day of the Doctor" (set between "The Waters of Mars" and "The End of Time, Part One"), the 10th Doctor marries her and never comes back. That'll make a good enough reason.

My Sister, Benedict Arnold - S3-E5

Question: In this episode Marcia dates Greg's rival Warren Mulany. I noticed in the credits the actor's name was Gary Rist, is he related to Robbie Rist who played Oliver?

Jackson

Chosen answer: Since Robbie Rist has no brothers, the answer would have to be no.

Gavin Jackson

Question: Shortly after Leo enters a pod to try and save Pericles, the crew of the Oberon receive a distress signal from an old man. Who exactly was that guy?

Chosen answer: It's Lt. General Vasich. It's a message from the future--or from the past depending on how you read the timeline--made after they attempt to rescue Captain Davidson and get thrown in time to well before Leo arrives on the other side. That's why Vasich looks so confused after seeing the message.
