The convoluted, inconsistent X-Men franchise has finally come to an end with the release of Dark Phoenix. But whether the original trilogy, the Wolverine prequels, the rebooted prequels, or Deadpool off in his own little 4th-wall-breaking corner, they've all got mistakes...

X-Men (2000)

When young Magneto is struggling with the guards at the concentration camp, the father's star switches from one side of his chest to the other.

When Rogue sits at the bar, as the bartender cleans a cup, a metal ashtray appears beside Rogues glass of water between shots.

X-Men 2 (2003)

In the end, when the President is visited by the X-Men, he receives a blue binder, which is laid in front of him on the table. When they have left, you see a shot including the President's desk, and you can see that the only thing he has on the table are some sheets of paper, stapled in the upper left corner, opened up. Then the shot changes to a close-up of the President, and then back again, and you see the blue binder in front of him, closed, and the papers have disappeared.

When Wolverine attacks the SWAT member in the Mutant Academy kitchen while Iceman takes cover, there's a spot the difference competition between the start and end of the gunfight. After a second or two there are bullet holes in the back wall, the Dr. Pepper's been knocked over, the basket's gone from the corner of the table, and the chair at the right is maybe a foot from the corner. When we cut back, the bullet holes in the wall have changed position, the Dr. Pepper's righted itself, the basket's back on the corner, and the chair's now much closer to the edge. All this while Iceman's hiding and Wolverine and the gunman are fighting each other.

In the scene where Storm and Nightcrawler rush to rescue the children from the holding cell, you see a shot of the cell where the children stand up and say "Listen..." before Nightcrawler teleports inside. If you look carefully, you will see Nightcrawler's silhouette in the shadow against the wall.

Almost trivia, but not quite. When Mystique's looking through the guard files to find a suitable candidate, lots of photos flash up very quickly before she finds the guy she uses. Of note is that Bryan Singer pops up in guard uniform (with his own name), and so does someone called "Donner, L". This is most likely referring to Lauren Shuler Donner, one of the producers, and sex is specified as "F", but the photo is of a stubble-coated man.

When Wolverine, Rogue, Bobby and John are in Bobby's house and are talking to his parents, his dad says to Wolverine "What are you a professor of?" Just after this the camera cuts to an overhead shot, there is a solid orange pillow at Bobby's brother's side, but in all following shots the solid orange pillow has vanished and is replaced by two striped pillows.

Screenshot

When Mystique is looking around in Stryker's computer, she notices a folder marked "Cerebro", next to the "Delete" icon on the screen. However, when she opens the folder, we cut to a wide shot and the icons around the delete icon have renamed themselves, plus the cerebro folder itself has disappeared.

Screenshot

When Wolverine handed the bottle of Dr Pepper to Bobby, he was holding the body of the bottle. But when the shot changes to show Bobby taking the bottle, Wolverine was holding the bottle neck.

Screenshot

In the scene where Wolverine is talking to Stryker in the mansion corridor, Bobby creates an ice wall between them, including the wall. Shortly afterwards when they leave and Bobby takes his hand away, the wall suddenly has no frost on it at all.

Screenshot

When Xavier is in the plastic prison with Magneto, at the end of this scene, you see Xavier put his hands on the doors of the prison, but in the following shot from outside the prison his hands have changed positions on the doors.

Screenshot

When Jean and Storm first meet Nightcrawler and hold him upside-down in mid-air, his cloak hangs down ("up" by his viewpoint) in the shots facing him, but in the shots facing Jean and Storm his cloak is not hanging down (so we can see the two of them).

Screenshot

Near the start Logan is inside Cerebro with Xavier and Xavier turns to talk to him. The chair he's sitting in doesn't go any higher than the top of his back, yet a few shots later, the chair is now above his neck.

X-Men 3 (2006)

Take a look at Google Earth - the section of the Golden Gate Bridge Magneto breaks off (about a mile - tower to tower plus a section each end) isn't anywhere near long enough to reach Alcatraz from anywhere on the mainland.

Screenshot

When Logan pulls out the two horns from his stomach, the camera shows two holes on the singlet as part as his wounds. In the following scenes, the holes of the t-shirt have recovered (I know Logan has healing ability, but not his clothes).

Screenshot

When Magneto and Charles Xavier are in Jean Grey's house (when she is older and making everything around her float in the air), watch the book shelf when it falls down. At least 25 books fall out of the top shelf and in the next few shots you see that the number of books fallen has minimized greatly.

Screenshot

When Magneto has moved the Golden Gate Bridge, we see the President looking at a Satellite Image of Magneto's work. In this image, Alcatraz Island is bigger and closer to the shore than it is in real life.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

After Logan is shot twice in the head with adamantium bullets by Stryker , an overhead shot of him shows the bullets at different heights on his forehead. In this shot, the bullet on his right is noticeable higher. After Logan sits up and they begin healing, the left bullet appears higher on his forehead at an almost even height to the right one.

Screenshot

Gambit pushes Logan, who smashes through a wall. This hole becomes much, much smaller when Gambit climbs out into the alley.

Screenshot

When Wolverine first meets Gambit, he has a slight mustache and beard. Out in the alley, after his fight with Wolverine, his facial hair is much shorter.

Screenshot

X-Men: First Class (2011)

When the young mutants are showing each other what they can do, they all have a glass of cola, all four sitting on a corner of the table. But when Banshee wants to show what he can do, the glasses are instantly lined up.

Screenshot

Erik meets two Germans at the bar in Argentina, a pig farmer and a tailor. The amount of beer in the farmer's glass increases after Erik walks towards him.

Screenshot

When Erik is first attempting to lift the submarine, he'd using his left hand. In subsequent scenes, specifically when Riptide turns into heavy wind to break Erik's grasp, he's now using his right hand.

Screenshot

The Wolverine (2013)

As Wolverine bids farewell to Mariko in the next to final scene on the airport tarmac, Yukio is visible in the background of the shot standing at the foot of the stairs, where she receives a green box which she tucks under her arm. The scene cuts to Mariko, when it moves back to Wolverine, Yukio remains in the background but the green box has disappeared.

Screenshot

Wolverine shields Yashida from the blast, burning off all his hair. Somehow his pants manage to remain unaffected by this, as seen later when they are climbing from the pit.

Screenshot

When Mariko and Logan are eating, Logan uses a fork and leaves his chopsticks sticking straight up out of the bowl. Mariko removes them and lies them flat, saying it's bad luck. Then they keep talking and suddenly the chopsticks are vertical again without him touching them.

Screenshot

Just as Logan and Mariko are about to enter the room at the "love hotel", the door opposite their room shows a teddy bear on the door, but when it switches to the view from inside their room the opposite door now shows a stethoscope.

Screenshot

X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

The Mountain Dew logo seen in the stadium didn't come out until 1980, despite the film being set in 1973. The changes made in 1980 were subtle, but still distinct, especially the loss of the "wave" in the "D" and the smaller hole on the "a."

Screenshot

Charles has just denied Logan's request for his help and is now in his bedroom. There's a photo of Raven on the right side of his bed with an ashtray slightly behind it. A couple of shots later, the ashtray is gone and the photo has moved closer to the bedside table's edge.

Screenshot

Deadpool (2016)

After Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead leave the manor, the scene cuts back to the bridge where several gunmen are shown exiting cars and begin approaching Deadpool. In one of the shots during this, a gunman is shown exiting the passenger side of a car, with the camera placed behind him. In the shot, the reflection of a camera, cameraman and boom mic are visible in the wing mirror.

Screenshot

In the bridge fight scene where Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead appear, Deadpool tries to escape Colossus' handcuffs by severing his hand. The hand that he cuts off is his left, but when he jumps off the bridge the severed arm is on his right side.

Screenshot

Logan (2017)

Before crashing the limo into the fence, there are two bullet holes in the rear windscreen. Afterwards, there are five. Then from an inside shot as they start backing up, there are only two again.

Screenshot

Deadpool 2 (2018)

In the final fight, Deadpool says to Cable "did you feel that too?" and there's no-one behind them at all. Cable moves forwards to kill a guy on the ground, and a fraction of a second later, as Deadpool says "only best buddies execute paedophiles together" an orderly has appeared in the background, who gets shot.
