Question: Was Guy in on the cruel revenge prank to put dog food on Aldys, or did he just want to dance with her, and didn't know anything about it?

Answer: Over the course of the evening, Guy learns that being popular isn't the most important thing in the world and wanted to make peace with Aldys. I think he was genuinely being a nice guy and wasn't in on the prank.

Question: What was Sheriff of Nottingham trying to do to Marian in the church, (when he's on top of her trying to hold her down)in the middle of their wedding? At first I thought he was trying to rape her but he would hardly do that in front of a priest in a church.

Answer: That's exactly what he's trying to do. He doesn't care what the priest thinks. He wants to consummate the marriage so it can't be considered invalid. A marriage could be annulled if a couple didn't consummate the marriage.

Question: Why exactly did Dooku join Sidious, when Sidious was actually involved in Qui-gon's death (since his last apprentice killed Qui-gon)? Does he not really care?

Answer: Allowing nebulous emotions like caring to influence their actions is not generally part of the Sith game plan. Dooku joined up with Sidious after becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the Jedi Order and their allegiance to a Senate that he saw as fatally corrupted. After a couple of disastrous battles, which Dooku learned the Jedi had been manipulated into fighting by unscrupulous politicians seeking to advance their personal agendas, he refused to accept any further missions from the Council, becoming increasingly withdrawn and concerned about the course the galaxy was following. It seems that Palpatine first met with him at around this time, some years prior to the battle of Naboo, using their meetings to determine Dooku's suitability for recruitment and gradually bringing the disaffected Jedi into his circle, much as he would do with Dooku's eventual replacement Anakin Skywalker years later. After Qui-Gon's death on Naboo in what seemed to be yet another politically motivated battle, Dooku spoke out, publically denouncing the Senate, then resigned from the Jedi Order, returning to his home planet of Serenno and reclaiming his family title of Count. Shortly after that, Palpatine approached him, revealing himself as a Sith Lord. In a long discussion, Dooku realised that Palpatine's goal of bringing the galaxy under the control of a single powerful individual, rather than the corrupt and inefficient Senate, was not far removed from his own thoughts on how things should be. Accepting Qui-Gon's death as a regrettable but necessary sacrifice to bring order to the galaxy, he agreed to join Palpatine and become his new apprentice.

Question: Is the gargoyle Laverne male or female? I assumed they were are all male, but then I heard that an elder actress did the voice for Laverne.

Answer: Laverne was indeed voiced by veteran actress Mary Wickes (with Jane Withers filling in some additional dialogue after Wickes passed away during production). This would suggest that the character should be considered female rather than male, although it does also prompt the obvious question of whether gender is actually a realistic concern when talking about an animated statue.

Question: When Adlys and Josie are in the car, and Guy pops his head in, how come he never looks at Josie? It's like she was invisible, and his face was close enough to her face, and he didn't even glance at her.

Answer: Guy regards Josie as another 'nerd' and would hardly have the courtesy of looking at her. Guy's focus is on Adlys because she's the one driving.

Question: At the end, when they see the ship floating away, Data says "Wow" followed by something in Chinese. However, what he says is subtitled in Chinese instead of English. Why subtitle Chinese dialogue with Chinese? Was there a reason the filmmakers did that? Some joke I missed?

Carl Missouri

Chosen answer: "Wow" is English, its simply a film joke. Whenever Datas parents speak in their native tongue, it puts English subtitles onscreen, and as a joke when Data responds in English it puts the translation in Chinese.

Question: What do the rocks that the stranger in the car gives to Caleb mean?

Answer: It is a rock from the ground of the final location on the list, where the spaceship has landed to transport Caleb and Abby to their new home. It is merely a clue as to where they should go on the day of October 19th.

Question: It seems that new transformers created by the Allspark are either evil or actual Decepticons immediately after being made into Transformers. Why? Also, Wheelie appears to be only hours old yet he too is a Decepticon and hates working for them even though he has apparently never met one. He also has knowledge of Transformer history. Anyone know of an explanation for this?

Charles Fraser

Chosen answer: In the first movie, it is stated by Agent Simmons that Megatron is the source of the modern age, human technology such as lasers, microchips, cars, cellphones etc. are the result of studying and reverse-engineering him. This may mean that all human electronics contain an 'imprint' of Megatron which makes them inherently Decepticon when brought to life by the AllSpark. And Wheelie has been around for a while, he is likely one of Soundwave's 'cassettes'.

Amy and Amiability - S3-E5

Question: Who did the Shadow's voice when she is pretending to be a man?

Josman

Chosen answer: Warren Clarke (who played Amy's father) voiced the male Shadow, in the style James Mason.

Question: How did Beetlejuice die?

Answer: Otho says at the dinner table that "they say those who commit suicide are civil servants in the afterlife." Look at all the people in the afterlife who are working. Their deaths appear secondary to suicide (the janitor has ligature marks, the receptionist cut her wrists, the flat guy jumped in front of a semi truck, etc). Juno says Beetlejuice was her partner. Therefore, the inference can be made that he too must have committed suicide.

Question: Is there any text or info on what happens to all the droid armies and the Separatist organizations that have been rendered leaderless, after the end of Episode III?

Answer: The droid armies were shut down by the Separatists, rendering them inert; they would presumably have been subsequently collected up and dismantled by the victorious Empire forces. While some other Separatist organisations would have remained active, without the droids that formed the vast majority of the Separatist strength, they would be effectively nullified as any sort of threat, so they would likely go dormant or underground.

Question: When the Cullen family are cooking for Bella, during Rosalie's speech, we can see Esme looking at Bella and Edward, with an increasing smile on her face. Why is she smiling this way?

sebastianik

Chosen answer: There's no one particular reason. The family knows that Rosalie doesn't approve of Bella and that she's overreacting here. The Cullens, particularly Esme, the family matriarch, like Bella and are happy that Edward has found someone; they are just ignoring Rosalie's outburst.

Question: The photo that Sy got off the market stall, (the old photo of a women) he said to Nina that, that was his mother, was it his mother, or did he just say that to make himself feel better, and if so, why would he lie about that?

Answer: It wasn't his mother. He was just trying to fit in and make himself feel better. There is a scene earlier of Sy buying the photo at some type of vendor. Maybe a swap meet.

Question: How is it possible for Bolt to go for five years without feeling hungry or even understand the whole concept of hunger?

Answer: He is spoiled to the point where he is fed so frequently and regularly and thoroughly. He's never felt hunger such as he feels while on his quest to find Penny.

Question: How did Commudus find out about Lucilla conspiring against him?

Answer: Commudus found out through Lucius (Lucilla's son). If you watch, at a certain part at the film Commudus sees Lucius fighting and asks him about becoming a legionary. Lucius then calls himself "Maximus The Savior of Rome". Commudus then asks "who said that?" and then Lucius, who whispers it in his ear.

Question: When Michael & Hannah begin their affair Michael is 15 years old - in the courtroom scenes, the judge states that Hannah is now 43 years old and also states that the events at Auschwitz took place 20 years prior, which would've made her 23 at the time of Auschwitz and possibly around 23 when she left Michael - meaning that when they had the affair she was only about 7 years his senior. Therefore, when she's 43 in court, that makes him 36 years old when he's at university watching the court proceedings - but surely that's too old for what the film is trying to portray? It seems like he's in his 20's when he's at uni. I don't get it. Surely they couldn't have gotten their timelines so incorrect?

ljpom1

Chosen answer: Where do you figure she was 23 when she left Michael? She had been working at the dispatch office for several years before she meet Michael (as indicated in the scene where her boss promotes her for her long service) -- so this is years after she was at Auschwitz. So she was in her mid-30s when she began the one-year affair with 15-year-old Michael. Then, while at university about 8 years later (when she is in her early 40s), he attends her trial. The timeline is fine.

MovieFan612

Answer: It is confusing in the movie because it seems like she went from the ticket taking job to the SS job after refusing the office job promotion, which would require literacy. When actually her SS job was prior to the ticket taker job. Was muddled in the movie.

A Piece of the Action - S2-E17

Question: After Oxymx gets Spock and McCoy for the second time, Kirk rushes in and turns the tables. Where were Oxymx's guards when Kirk came in? Krako had guards and he was a smaller time gangster than Oxymx. (00:26:00)

Question: Why are Girls Aloud credited with being on the soundtrack, when that isn't their version of "Jump" which the Prime Minister listens to?

Josman

Chosen answer: Irrelevant when it comes to soundtracks, Girls Aloud released a version of Jump to coincide with the movie's release and the video for the song featured scenes from the movie, hence its inclusion.

Question: I've noticed in the last two seasons that certain jokes and gags are ruined because the characters explain the whole point of them. Why do the writers feel that their humour needs to be explained?

Answer: It's a meta joke. The "explaining the joke" is itself a joke, usually about how the family guy writers themselves recognise their reliance on certain types of humour.
