I, Roommate - S1-E3

Question: Is the tune that Bender is whistling when he comes to work actually real and if so, what is it? He is also whistling this tune in some of the other episodes.

Answer: According to the DVD commentaries, John DiMaggio (the voice of Bender) was instructed to just make something up for Bender's whistling, to avoid any potential copyright issues.

Gary O'Reilly

Answer: "The Secret Box", or maybe "Karate Choppers".

sadie

Yeah, definitely "Karate Choppers."

Question: Why didn't Maul take his cloak off when he fought Qui-Gon on Tattooine? It just seems kind of odd because it would probably (1) make you hotter as you move around in the sun and (2) make it harder to move around.

Answer: His Sith training would teach him to ignore the "pain" of the heat, and the cloak, like Jedi cloaks, are specifically desnigned not to limit movement. He attacked as he leapt off his speeder, so he wouldn't have had time to take it off anyway.

Answer: The song is Crump Clown by Rize.

Question: What's the name of the piano solo music which can be heard throughout the movie? Since the movie has no soundtrack, can someone please give me its name and the place where it can be found?

Answer: The Movie has a soundtrack, and that lovely piano solo music is actually the theme song, composed by composer David Shire. You can find it here, on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Conversation-David-Shire/dp/B000N4P5XA/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1202051411&sr=1-1.

Show generally

Question: I know the pilot was shot and shown in 1989, but were there any other episodes shot and or shown along with the pilot?

Answer: No, The Seinfeld Chronicles (the first episode) was filmed and broadcast by itself, and eventually the series was picked up by NBC. Only then was the next episode - "Male Unbonding" - filmed. The next episode to air after the pilot was "The Stakeout", almost a year after the pilot was broadcast.

Question: What episode is it when the guys find a 'adult' video of who they think is Phoebe but is actually Ursula? I think the name of the video was "Buffay the Vampire Layer."

Answer: The One Where Chandler Can't Cry - Season 6 episode 14.

Boobra

Answer: It's just funny that he would hate them so much, for no apparent reason, that he wants someone to actually inform the grunka-lunkas of his hatred for them.

Phixius

Question: So I saw the movie and understood most of it but at the end the man that tried to stop the ferry from blowing up dies in the car. So this means that he duplicated himself. So if they use that machine, could they keep using it to duplicate people?

Movieman123

Chosen answer: He does not duplicate himself. He travels back in time to a point where his past self exists, so there are 2 of the same person. One simply has a few more hours of memories. Yes, in theory by traveling back in time this way, he could create a situation where there were many of him at one time.

Question: When Rick Masters is (quite literally) laundering his counterfeit bills, why does he put poker chips in the washing machine with the bills?

Cubs Fan

Chosen answer: The poker chips give the bills a more realistic texture by striking them while spinning, so they don't look newly made.

Boring - S1-E3

Question: What is it exactly that Rik reads from the paper? The thing that Neil repeats that brings the little devil to them? I'm assuming it's a poorly pronounced version of something that was in the papers at that time, but I can't think of anything that fits it.

Gary O'Reilly

Chosen answer: This is the dialog: RICK: "Hey, get this! 'Under the new ruling, all a student needs for an increased grant is a numklpkgulftoomsch from the local authority!" NEIL: "What was that?" RICK: "A numklpkgulftoomsch. Don't you ever read The Guardian, Neil?" NEIL: "What's a ftoomsch?" Ftoomsch was the little devil's name and the joke was that he'd said no one would ever say his name in regular conversation so he'd have no chance of stealing a soul.

Ingabritzen

Question: I don't get how Alex could have died in Clear's Dad's cabin with the fishing rod opening the door and the rusty fish hook and the knife flying out. What happened behind the door?

Answer: As Alex picks up the fish hook he smiles and says "tetanus". Although not ideal, Death hoped to infect Alex with tetanus, a lot slower a death than intended, but a death nevertheless.

Manky

Free Willzyx - S9-E13

Question: The kids save a whale and actually send it to the moon. The last scene and the end credits are shown in silence. What is the point of this?

Answer: The boys had thought they had done this magnificent thing for the whale when it really just killed the whale. The last shot just showed there was no happy ending. As for the silence it might be to keep the audience in anticipation. In the shot we see the whale lifeless and with no sound around. One could think that it might make a miraculous recovery as nothing is happening.

Lummie

Answer: 'Baker Street' by Gerry Rafferty.

Xofer

Question: Is the animated scene available online? If so, can someone give me address of the site on which it can be found?

Answer: A quick search on google or even Youtube under the title of the film "A brief history of America" will give you many places to watch or download it. Here is one from Youtube.

Lummie

Answer: On various documentarys, it is noted that all of the cast were very close friends, to the extent that guests felt very left out during filming. To answer your question yes, they were all very close.

Question: Why would the pretty girl who plays with the trains be married to the obese, immobile Uncle Joey? Also, what is the joke when the old man says "That's Uncle Joey. He works out"?

Answer: Well you don't have to be 'good looking' to be married. Second it is just meant to be ironic when he says "That's Uncle Joey. He works out" because when you work out you're meant to be in good shape but obviously he isn't so it seems in the future working out is what we call now, a slob.
