Question: Was the candy in Honeydukes real and, if so, what happened to it at the end of shooting?

Chosen answer: Some of the candy was real and was eaten by the actors, and later film crew. The rest was props. I assume excess candy was just trashed after a while.

Mark English

Question: Could someone please tell me which are the two songs Bob and Charlotte sing in the karaoke scene?

Chosen answer: The song two songs Bob sings are More Than This by the British group Roxy Music, circa 1982. Peace, Love & Understanding is a song written by Nick Lowe and made famous by Elvis Costello.

Question: Why do they have a girl on the cover of the DVD holding a knife behind her back (and I'm sure it's Penelope) when the killer is a guy?

Chosen answer: Fairly standard misinformation tactic. You'd prefer they revealed the actual killer on the cover?

Rooster of Doom

Question: On all the TV's that are in the lab say CNW in the bottom corner. Does anybody know what that stands for?

Chosen answer: Since CNN no longer allows their logo to be used in films, CNW was the filmmakers' way of portraying an all news network.

Question: How come the Creepy Thin Man was protecting the Angels and Leo? Whose side was he on and why?

Chosen answer: I think he was only protecting Leo as, in a sense, they are kin; both having been reared in the same orphanage. However, because the Angels were also protecting Leo, the Creep Thin Man helped them fight Madison and her cronies (a case of my enemy's enemy is my friend).

Question: Could anybody explain me how did they turn Jack Nicholson into the Joker? I know it's just make up, but how did they made that Joker smile?

Chosen answer: His smile is natural but the depressions in his face were made using fake skin and makeup.

Question: What is up with that pig thing in the window? Does it have anything do to do with anything?

Answer: That's Jodie. In the book and the supposed "true" story, the Lutz' daughter said Jodie could appear to her in any form he wanted, but usually looked like a pig.

Chosen answer: According to the book (and you can take that for what it is worth), one of the characters saw a pair of glowing red eyes in a window. Later they went outside and found pig tracks in the snow. That is what this scene is trying to convey.

Question: What song is playing right after the "costume" party?

moviemogul

Question: Why was it banned in South Africa?

Chosen answer: The film was never banned in South Africa. It was released uncut and was a box office hit.

Question: When Robert the Bruce is talking to the nobles at the begining of the movie, what is the significance of him seeing his dad up above on the balcony and saying that his dad couldn't be there in person, but sends his regards?

Chosen answer: The significance is that his Dad is not away on business he is very sick and hiding. I would imagine both he and his dad think that their position would weakened if the other nobles new his dad was sick and probably going to die soon.

pross79

Question: I didn't understand the rationale of Jim releasing the infected soldier Mailer into the mansion, since he knew the women were still inside, unprepared and unarmed. Anyone got a good reason why he did it?

Chosen answer: He also knew that the women were in an interior room, upstairs, with the door(s) closed; and that Mailer was much more likely to encounter/eliminate the other soldiers who were downstairs and mobile first. He was probably gambling - correctly, as it turned out - that he'd be able to make it upstairs and either rescue the women or eliminate Mailer before they were harmed.

Rooster of Doom

Question: What is Shaun's last name? Do we find out?

Chosen answer: Shaun's last name is Riley. It can be seen on a poster ad from Shaun's DJ days.

Question: Can anyone tell me where Gogo gets the ball and chain weapon from? She carries a short-bladed sword with her into the nightclub. There's no place on her skimpy schoolgirl outfit to conceal the bulky ball and chain. Is this a mistake?

Chosen answer: No, no mistake. The House of Blue Leaves is obviously a hangout for O-ren and the Crazy 88, seeing how so many of them are there, and the familiarity they show with the place. It would only be natural for Gogo to have some backup weapons hidden away there, since she knows they come there often and stay for some time.

Question: Who is the actor that plays the character of Dorian when he has the Mask on? I looked on IMDB and there's a character by the name of The Figure, is that him?

Toolio

Answer: Garret Sato plays Dorian with the mask on. He is uncredited.

Chosen answer: It's the same actor (Peter Greene) in the Mask as out of it. While there's a listing for a character called "The Figure", played by Robert O'Reilly, that appears to be from an online version of the script that includes a sequence that was cut from the finished film.

Question: When he starts his first film, Dirk is presumably 17. Isn't it illegal for anyone under 18 to be in a porn film?

Cubs Fan

Chosen answer: It is illegal, but that doesn't mean that it's not possible for him to get away with it. Tracy Lords was under 18 when she first started making porn.

Jane Doe

Question: In the scene where Sarah is in the bathroom during the time when her three other covenmates are torturing her, she walks by what looks like a paper towel dispenser kind of high up on the wall that has some writing on it. What do those letters mean?

Sarah Van Winkle

Chosen answer: It says "Gustav Klimt", the name of an artist in the 1800s, and the paper towel dispenser is actually one of his prints. In the shot where Robin Tunney is walking out of the shower, you can see the bottom of the painting, although the full piece is never visable.
