Question: How did Eddie Brock know that Flint Marko would want Spiderman dead? They did not meet before, not even at the bank robbery scene because Flint went down the sewers first. Plus, how did Venom find him so easily?

Chosen answer: Venom knows everything Spider-Man knew while he had the black suit. So he knows that Spider-Man and Sandman are enemies. It was more of an assumption on Venom's part that Sandman would want Spider-Man dead. We're never really shown exactly how long Venom was looking for Sandman. At any rate, Venom can move through the city at least as quickly as Spider-Man can. It wouldn't have taken him so long to hunt Sandman down.

Question: I don't understand the joke that Clem says when he's cleaning in the hallway, right before the killer mustard gas sequence. He says something like, "Let me ask you something. Does your mother sew?" *smacks the object he's talking to* "Boom! Get her to sew that!" Can anybody explain this?

Chosen answer: It's not so much a joke with a punchline, but more like a funny phrase. He was affiliated with the mob, and as such, has most likely been in violent situations. He asks "does your mother sew" and then punches his refelection in the fire extinguisher case (someone's face if a fight was really happening). The "get her to sew that" comment implies that the person he hit would have needed stitches. (thus the reference to sewing.)

Question: When Peter is wearing the black suit at the top of the church bell tower and decides to remove it he has to struggle with it considerably in order to rip it off. So why is he able to easily take it off by will at other times in the film, such as when he stores it in the black suitcase in his closet? If this black "goo" sticks to its host at all times, he would have had the same level of difficulty trying to remove it then, no?

Chosen answer: The suit has a will of its own. It didn't resist before because Peter took it off normally. Now Peter was taking it off because he didn't want it. The suit sensed that, and resisted.

Question: Why isn't Owen Wilson credited anywhere in the film? He had a rather large role to not be a part of the credits.

Dedderbot

Chosen answer: According to IMDB, Wilson's role was originally just a cameo (thus no need for a credit), but his character tested well with audiences, so his role was enlarged.

Question: After Larry says to Nicky "wanna slice it up?" it cuts to a shot in the park. In the background there is a sign that we only see the bottom half of. The part of the sign that we can see says "house". What does the top half say? I know it doesn't show it in the movie but I have a feeling this is a NY landmark and it's been eating at me for days.

Chosen answer: It is the "Essex House"

Question: Why does Hallie put a piece of apple under Annie's ear?

Stephen Edmonds 1

Chosen answer: Three reasons. 1) She wanted to have something hard on the back of her ear so that she could pierce the lobe easily and have the needle enter the porous apple 2) the apple was cold and moist which would help the pain from the piercing 3) it was the most readily available thing to use for this since they were at a summer camp with no facilities for ear piercing.

Question: I still don't understand why Flint Marko shot Uncle Ben. Can someone please explain it in full detail?

Chosen answer: He didn't mean to. If listen at the end of the movie Flint says "Your Uncle Ben told me to put the gun down and go home, then my partner came and the gun went off." So the gun went off by accident (either due to being surprised by his partner or maybe being knocked by him). Flint had no intent on killing him after what Uncle Ben said.

Question: On IMDb, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are listed in the credits, having voiced Woody Car and Buzz Lightyear Car. I don't remember them, where in the film did they appear?

Chosen answer: During the closing credits they do "car" versions of other Pixar films. This includes "Toy Car Story" (which is where the Hanks and Allen credits come in), "Monster Trucks, Inc." (Billy Crystal and John Goodman), and "A VW Bug's Life" (Dave Foley). The joke here is that Mack (John Ratzenburger) is watching the movies and commenting about the voice talent of certain characters and that it is the same person doing all the voices. John has provided voices for all Pixar Features to date (including the upcoming Ratatouille).

Boring - S1-E3

Question: What is it exactly that Rik reads from the paper? The thing that Neil repeats that brings the little devil to them? I'm assuming it's a poorly pronounced version of something that was in the papers at that time, but I can't think of anything that fits it.

Gary O'Reilly

Chosen answer: This is the dialog: RICK: "Hey, get this! 'Under the new ruling, all a student needs for an increased grant is a numklpkgulftoomsch from the local authority!" NEIL: "What was that?" RICK: "A numklpkgulftoomsch. Don't you ever read The Guardian, Neil?" NEIL: "What's a ftoomsch?" Ftoomsch was the little devil's name and the joke was that he'd said no one would ever say his name in regular conversation so he'd have no chance of stealing a soul.

Question: When Rick Masters is (quite literally) laundering his counterfeit bills, why does he put poker chips in the washing machine with the bills?

Cubs Fan

Chosen answer: The poker chips give the bills a more realistic texture by striking them while spinning, so they don't look newly made.

Question: When Nick and Elizabeth are looking at Nick's wine collection, what does Nick mean when he says, "I think my sister was conceived on this"?

Chosen answer: He means that his parents were more than likely drinking or drunk on that wine the night she was conceived.

Boobra

Question: When the town first turns into "Dark Silent Hill", you can briefly see some sort of monster behind rose that shoots skyward. What monster is this? Is it Red Pyramid?

Chosen answer: I thought it was just big pieces of the ground shooting upward. I didn't see pyramid head there at that time. Just pieces of silent hill shooting upward.

Question: What episode is it when the guys find a 'adult' video of who they think is Phoebe but is actually Ursula? I think the name of the video was "Buffay the Vampire Layer."

Chosen answer: The One where Chandler Can't Cry - Season 6 episode 14.

Question: Why didn't Maul take his cloak off when he fought Qui-Gon on Tattooine? It just seems kind of odd because it would probably (1) make you hotter as you move around in the sun and (2) make it harder to move around.

Chosen answer: His Sith training would teach him to ignore the "pain" of the heat, and the cloak, like Jedi cloaks, are specifically desnigned not to limit movement. He attacked as he leapt off his speeder, so he wouldn't have had time to take it off anyway.

Question: Do Borat and Azamat talk in a real other language, or are the actors just saying gibberish for the movie?

Chosen answer: According to an interview with Sacha Baron Cohen, it's actually Hebrew disguised by a very heavy fake Eastern European accent.
