Question: After Carina swam to shore, where did she get another dress?

lucyjames121

Chosen answer: After Jack, Henry and Carina are captured at Hangman's Bay, she is given a dress so she can be the bridesmaid in the wedding of Jack to Pig Kelly's sister.

Question: Who was the Pighead who captured Dr. Gordon?

Chosen answer: It was John and Hoffman that captured Gordon. (I believe it's revealed in Saw V when we learn more of Hoffman's recruitment).

Question: When Joker says, "Is it you, John Wayne?" I don't really understand this joke. Unless he's just trying to be random, but then isn't he worried he might be in trouble?

Chosen answer: The quote was "Is that you John Wayne? Is this me?" Its a quote directly from the book the movie was based on. In the book Cowboy says it rather than Joker, mocking Hartman for barking out orders like John Wayne in many of his movies. After saying "Is this me?" Cowboy takes off his Stetson and fans his face, play acting a less masculine character that might also be found in a John Wayne movie. In the FMJ scene they of course weren't wearing Stetsons (full brimmed ranger hats) so it's a little off.

Answer: I always thought from the way Joker says it in the movie, that he is making a joke about the Gunny sounding like John Wayne ("Is that you John Wayne?"). But he says this joke mimicking the voice of John Wayne, which leads him to comically add "Is this me?" He is basically making a joke and then laughing at his joke by adding on to it.

The Winds of Winter - S6-E10

Question: What did Ser Gregor Clegane do to Septa Unella?

Chosen answer: It is left up to your imagination. Ser Clegane does whatever Cersei asks of him so she most likely told him to torture her but without killing her. She'd told Septa Unella that she would be kept alive, as Cersei intended for her to suffer over a long period of time.

Question: With the death of Vic Morrow, how were they able to film him being captured by two Nazi officers and thrown into a freight train car?

Chosen answer: Due to production logistics, movies are rarely filmed in a linear timeline. Storyboards visually map out the entire plot to provide the director continuity while filming different scenes, in various order, and often simultaneously with second-unit directors. As to the movie, Morrow's segment was originally supposed to end with the Vietnam scene. After Morrow rescued the two children, thus redeeming his character, he was to be returned to his own timeline. However, after the fatal accident and with the filming incomplete, the scenes were reordered so that the segment now ended with Morrow being sent to a Nazi concentration camp.

Question: When the crew is at Tia Dalma's, what does Jack mean when he says "My eyesight's as good as ever, just so you know" after Mr. Gibbs, Pintel, and Raghetti do the superstitious spin thing?

Chosen answer: When the Black Spot on Jack's palm is revealed, Gibbs, Pintel, and Ragetti, all being superstitious types, panic and, each in turn, spin around spitting and chanting, "The Black Spot!" in an attempt to ward off its evilness. Jack's retort was implying that they did not need to overstate the obvious.

Question: How could the Erumpent the size of a whale escape out of Newt's case without Newt around, without his help (magic)? Can Erumpents shrink themselves like Occamies?

Bunch Son

Chosen answer: Erumpents cannot change their size, however the suitcase is itself enchanted to allow objects of any size to enter and exit its magically expanded interior. Newt's presence is not required for this.

Question: When Maurice enters through the castle gate while being chased by wolves, why do the wolves stop before the gate? Why don't they continue chasing Maurice from there?

Johman

Chosen answer: If it's not magic, likely they know that a stronger animal (the Beast) lives there and don't want to enter its territory.

Question: I know this is an opinionated question. Can someone give me the top 10 most powerful characters in Star Wars?

DFirst1

Chosen answer: It really is impossible to give a completely accurate list about this, as there are many meanings to the word "power", and no measuring unit for it.Anyways, these are just my opinions. Here's my attempt: 1. DARTH SIDIOUS/PALPATINE - He was able to use "force stealth" on the Jedi. Plus, he is the Dark Lord of the Sith. He was able to kill his master (Darth Plagueis) in his sleep. 2. YODA - The Grand Master of the Jedi Order. He can control the force lightning of Sidious and Tyranus. It was said that only Mace Windu, Count Dooku and Palpatine were able to fight with him on equal terms. 3. DARTH VADER - He is an extremely powerful in the force by lifting objects without using his hands, able to defeat Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi. 4. DARTH TYRANUS/COUNT DOOKU - A menacing Sith Lord and a rogue Jedi. Though old already, he was able to defeat Obi Wan twice and Anakin once. He could use a force lightning ability which Darth Maul and Darth Vader couldn't do. Sidious, Yoda and Windu are considered his equals. He was the swordsman in the galaxy. 5. MACE WINDU - A higher rank of the Jedi Order. Considered one of the greatest swordsmen ever produced by the Jedi Order. He was a master of all seven forms of lightsaber combat. He began his development of the deadly form of combat known as Vaapad. 6. OBI-WAN KENOBI - A wise and brave Jedi Master. He was the first one who kill a Sith Lord Ever. Aside from Darth Maul, he defeated General Griveous and the Pre Darth Vader version. He was able to appear as a force ghost after his death. 7. DARTH MAUL - Wielded a double bladed lightsaber and he was a skilled Zabrak warrior. Very fast in a lightsaber duel. He even resurrects in the Clone Wars Series. 8. LUKE SKYWALKER -The greatest Jedi of all time. He is able to redeem his father to the light, which Obi-wan couldn't do. 9. QUI-GON JINN - A maverick and wise Jedi master. He had used the Force to help and protect Anakin all the way. 10. ANAKIN SKYWALKER - The Chosen One and he was prophesied to destroy the Sith, which he did in the end. *HONORABLE MENTION* - GENERAL GRIEVOUS - though not knowing the ways of the force, he is a skilled lightsaber combatant. With four arms with lightsabers, he could block himself from blasters.

Question: Spoiler Alert. Why did Toomes lie about not knowing Spider Man's identity in the first post credits scene?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: He may want Spider-Man all to himself for foiling his plans, or he may feel indebted to Spider-Man for saving his life.

Phaneron Premium member

Answer: Spider-man had saved his daughter's life and his own; Tooms felt like he owed Peter that much.

Question: Why were Quentin and Nancy upset when they found out they'd told the truth about Freddy? I'd have thought that kind of reaction would come if they thought he was guilty and found out he was innocent.

JohnShel91

Chosen answer: They were upset because they realise that Freddy is coming to get revenge on them for his death.

Question: Can someone explain the mechanics (and physics) of how Doc's advice to "Turn right to go left" helps with McQueen's drifting?

Chosen answer: Instead of sliding on all four tires, he's only sliding on the back two. The front two tires are turned to align with the direction of travel, allowing the car to maintain greater control of the drift. The slow-motion scene when McQueen first accomplishes this shows what's happening.

Question: I've got two questions. 1. I still can't understand how the kick works. When the van was falling, why they didn't wake up from the hotel? When they fall they should wake up from the dream. 2. Why the loss of the gravity didn't affect the 3rd level, if the other factors, such as the music or kicks actually affect it?

Honza Požár

Chosen answer: 1. The sleeping ones in the hotel were in the third level and the kick wasn't strong enough to affect them all, and Arthur made the dream, which gives him some control of when it ends. 2. The lack of gravity in level 2 DID affect level 3 with the avalanche. The gravity change in two might have made them a bit lighter, but not catastrophically so. And the music and the kicks were on the previous level, so they could get through.

Question: Near the end, how the heck did Tommy (the child) pass through the kitchen without being noticed by the cooks?

Roman Curiel

Chosen answer: They were in a rush, trying to get things and get out.

MasterOfAll

Question: Why does Hermione seem annoyed when she finds out that Harry told Slughorn she is the best in the year? Or am I wrong?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: She isn't annoyed. She's slightly embarrassed at the attention.

Greg Dwyer

Question: Instead of using the Pensieve to view Voldemort's and Slughorn's memories, wouldn't it have been much easier for Dumbledore to simply tell Harry of his first meeting with Tom and Harry simply asking Slughorn what he knew?

Chosen answer: The purpose of the Pensieve is to preserve the memory exactly as it was recorded. Telling Harry something years after an event occurred is not as effective or as accurate as seeing. It is more impactful if Harry can watch events exactly as they unfolded. Regarding Slughorn, he had refused to give his complete memory because he was ashamed of the unintentional part he played in Voldemort's plan to create the Horcruxes. He was duped by Riddle, but he still did not want anyone to know how foolish he was.

raywest Premium member

Answer: Dumbledore went to great lengths to recover the modified memory from Slughorn and convince him to return to Hogwarts as a teacher. Asking Slughorn about the memory upfront would greatly reduce their chances of getting the rest of the memory. It was important for Harry to charm Slughorn because that was one of his weaknesses. He held Harry's mother in high regards, so Harry really was the only key to getting the memory.

Question: Why did Simon set up so many riddles for McClane?, wouldn't he expect McClane to be killed in Harlem? Simon later says to Zeus on the phone : "My only problem is that I went to some trouble preparing that game for McClane. You interfered with a well-laid plan." What exactly was the plan, if he didn't expect anyone (Zeus) to help, or any gangs, etc. to take offense and kill McClane?

Curtis Kicks

Chosen answer: Simon Gruber was deliberately seeking prolonged, torturous revenge against John McClane for killing Hans Gruber (Simon's brother) in the first movie. Gruber expected McClane to suffer through the Harlem humiliation and suffer through subsequent, carefully-orchestrated obstacles that McClane may or may not have survived. Gruber deviously intertwined his revenge plan with several spectacular bomb diversions across the city (drawing attention away from Gruber's gigantic gold heist). However, in the end, Gruber misjudged the full extent of McClane's tenacity and resourcefulness, just as his brother did.

Question: I always wondered this. As a cop McClane knew about weapons. While handing over the machine gun to Zeus, he explained how it worked. But he did not told Zeus to switch the safety catch off. How in earth could McClane forget to tell something crucial like that? Zeus isn't even pissed about it later on, while it could have cost him his life.

Shibito

Chosen answer: A simple omission, in the heat of the moment he forgot to mention it. He may have thought, since he just took the gun off an enemy, that the safety was already off.

Question: Arthur Weasley tells Harry, who tells Ron and Hermione, "If Dumbledore's traveling, then that's news to the ministry." What kind of news is that to the ministry? Is this good or bad news?

Chosen answer: When someone says "that's news to [whomever], " a very common expression, it just means that it is a surprise, and that they had no prior knowledge of that fact. The goodness or badness of the news is not germane to the use of the phrase.

Question: During the Quidditch game, why was Dobby making the Bludger chase Harry?

Roman Curiel

Chosen answer: Dobby was aware of the plot to re-open the Chamber of Secrets, and tried to prevent Harry from returning to school. Harry refused to listen, so in an attempt to protect him, Dobby bewitched the Bludger to injure him severely enough that he would be forced to return home.
