Question: I know that Chris Columbus didn't direct this movie, but was his daughter an extra like she was in the past 2 movies?

Answer: According to IMDB, Violet Columbus was "Girl With Flowers."

Answer: ROTC is the Reserve Officers Training Corps. It's a program for people who would like to join the military when they get out of school. They wear uniforms and do military training exercises after school. While not always the case, most people in the ROTC program tend to hang out mostly with other people in the program.

Myridon

Question: Is it ever explained why the characters cannot use magic to protect themselves from the werewolf (Lupin)?

Answer: No, it's not really explained, though one could argue that it's simply because nobody wanted to harm Professor Lupin. Potions can be used to help subdue the beast, but it was too late by the time Lupin transformed.

Question: Wat keeps threatening to "fong" people. Is this a medieval term or did Alan Tudyk just think the word was funny?

Answer: In the commentary, Alan says that it means to kick someone. But the cast also thought it was funny.

Question: What exactly is the relationship between Merry and Pippin? I know they are cousins, but other than that. They seem to be regarded as a unit but Merry seems to be annoyed by Pippin all the time and not too happy to be around him. What kind of relationship are they meant to have?

Answer: They're best friends, partners in mischief and so forth. Merry probably started out acting in an older brother-type capacity (being eight years Pippin's senior), and, as we see, still frequently gets exasperated by the younger hobbit's actions, but neither would ever choose to be without the other.

Question: As Peggy Sue and her friends walk down the school hall, she glances up and sees a Mylar balloon. While it is intended to remind her of the reunion, I wondered if Mylar balloons were available in 1960?

scwilliam

Chosen answer: It was meant to be an anachronism. When she is talking to Richard later in the film, Peggy Sue says "I am a walking anachronism", meaning she is in the wrong time for what she knows. The balloon is a physical anachronism, being something she brought back to the past with her from the reunion.

Question: Is Miss Hannigan Annie's actual mother? I know she says that her real parents were killed in a fire but there seems to be overwhelming evidence that this is a lie. Any thoughts, references, that might clear this up?

synthetikrose

Chosen answer: No, Miss Hannigan is simply a cruel, manipulative orphanage matron. Annie's parents did indeed die in a fire.

Question: In the brief scene where Hannibal is having a fancy meal served to him in his cell as a reward for helping Will, what classical piano music is playing in the background? This is just before we see Will and his co-workers watching a home video of the Jacobis.

Answer: I think it's part of Bach's Goldberg Variations. Incidentally, it is part of this piece that is playing when he kills the 2 guards in his cage in The Silence of the Lambs. He is also seen playing part of it himself in Hannibal.

David Mercier

Question: What's the name of the song that the inmates at the asylum are dancing to?

Answer: "(Not Just) Knee Deep" by George Clinton And The Funkadelics.

Chosen answer: "I'm Into Something Good." It's the second song listed in the music credits, and if you don't read all the credits you miss a good part of the gags in the movie.

"I'm Into Something Good" is played during the scenes where Frank is going out with Jane. The song the person is asking about is this song. Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wn-MlISDsNs.

Answer: The opening song during the credits is the theme song from the 1982 TV series "Police Squad!" The Naked Gun movies are based on the short lived TV series.

Question: When Indy chases after the Ark, which is on the German convoy, where did he get that beautiful white horse from? There is no evidence of horses being kept anywhere in the camp.

Answer: The earlier scenes of the excavation site show several horses being ridden or used for hauling.

Question: Does anyone know why Mini Me doesn't, can't, or won't speak?

Answer: Mini Me does speak at one point in both films (that I know of). He says "You and I" when Dr Evil and he are singing Just The Two Of Us. Rather than a baby's voice, this is very low-pitched and I think it cuts to Frau looking surprised. There's no real reason for Mini Me not speaking other than it creates excellent gag opportunities such as the "Do You Want To?" scene in the car.

Answer: There doesn't seem to be any reason as for Statham's cameo, however one theory comes to mind. A number of years before Statham started starring in Hollywood films, he made his break in the hit low budget "Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels". Apparently Tom Cruise was one of the major Hollywood people who loved the film and was keen to do an American remake of the film. Possibly he wanted to try and work with him and the cameo was a perfect opportunity. Playing a "Transporter" of sorts would seem an apt role.

Lummie

Answer: Sometime between seasons 3 and 4.

Question: Was Roman just playing dead in the coffin or was it a dummy? Hard to believe that he could be pretending because Gale checks his pulse.

Answer: No it was Roman. There is a technique you can do where if you apply pressure on the correct artery you can stop the pulse. EXTREMELY dangerous though.

Question: How was the rain scene accomplished?

Answer: It was added at the edit. During the animation, the animators just made little sprinkles on the characters so it would look like the rain actually hit them.

Question: This is a two-parter: 1) Why was the guy killing all of the kids, and 2) How exactly did he do it?

Answer: He was trying to perform a human sacrifice. He mentioned to the doctor when he was tied up that three thousand years ago, there was a massive sacrifice where the world flowed with the blood of children and animals. Now the planets were aligned again and it was time for a new one in order for the people of his craft to control their environment.

Zorz

Answer: Because he was an evil mastermind. He implanted lethal microchips in the tags of Silver Shamrock masks so when the commercial aired on T.V. on Halloween night, it would take a deadly effect on the kids wearing the masks while watching the commercial.
