Question: We all know that movie guns tend to have outrageous amounts of ammunition, but what about movie quivers? In the big battle Hawkeye is knocking out arrow-ey death all over the place, and most of the time his quiver seems to be full. Up until it's totally empty of course. So just how many arrows does that thing carry, and how many arrows did he shoot in the movie?

Answer: The arrows in Hawkeye's quiver are very tightly packed - promotional shots of scenes immediately prior to the final battle seem to suggest that he has several dozen arrows in there. The number does visibly decrease as the battle progresses, although the initial tight packing makes it less easy to tell. A number of the shots he takes are also at close range, allowing him to potentially retrieve the arrows for re-use - it's only once he's atop the building, mostly sniping at long range, that he finally runs out. As for precisely how many arrows he fires in the course of the movie, watch it and count 'em.

Question: **SPOILER** When Loki kills Agent Coulson, Coulson has his Captain America cards in his pocket but later Maria tells Fury something about the cards being in a locker. Did I understand that right? And how and why were the cards in Coulson's pocket?

Answer: Coulson never had the cards in his pocket. They were in fact in his locker all along. This was done by Fury to help motivate the remaining Avengers to work together and save the world!

Question: Bit of a stupid question, but was just wondering. When Mr Andrews is talking to Rose, Cal and Ruth during the tour of the ship, Rose says that there are not enough boats for everyone on board, and Mr Andrews explains that he wanted more boats or something, and he was told that they would make the deck too cluttered so he was overruled, and the ship got the boats it does. But as Mr Andrews designed/ constructed the ship, surely it's up to him how many lifeboats there are etc, so why did he back down?

Heather Benton

Chosen answer: It certainly was not up to him. Andrews was only the designer and an employee of the company, White Star Line. Whatever he may have wanted or recommended, the company had the power and the legal right to overrule him in favor of what they felt made the ship more profitable. They did not want their high-paying clientele's ocean view obstructed by too many lifeboats. Safety regulations were far more lax at this time, though many new ones were enacted following the tragedy, including more lifeboats.

raywest

Answer: Regulations at the time required ships over 10,000 tons to have 16 lifeboats on board, Titanic which was 40,000 tons had 20 so four more than required. In the 2 1/2 hours it took Titanic to sink they managed to get 18 of 20 boats off safely, collapsibles A and B were floated off and one was even capsized. It's quite possible that if Titanic had more lifeboats more lives would've been lost due to having to work around the extra boats they possibly would've got less boats away.

Show generally

Question: On the back of the complete series DVD I just purchased, it says there are 14 episodes plus 3 unaired ones. The episode guide only lists 15 episodes (counting both parts of Serenity). Is this a typo or is there something I'm missing?

Brad

Chosen answer: I think you're misreading it. The fourteen count is the overall total inclusive (e.g. the 11 aired episodes + the 3 unaired ones).

Cubs Fan

Chosen answer: A "bog roll" is another term for toilet tissue. The soft just refers to its texture.

Question: How exactly was Thor able to get back to Earth when the bifrost bridge was previously destroyed in his movie?

Rydersriot87

Chosen answer: In the original "Thor" movie, Loki tells Thor that there are ways into Asgard other than the Bifrost. Then when Thor takes Loki from the transport and the two of them are alone, Loki says "How much dark energy did the Allfather have to use to conjure you here?". Odin used dark energy to open a wormhole to send Thor back to earth.

wizard_of_gore

Chosen answer: Very probably. The moving around is just how he lives: He goes to some remote area where he won't be recognized, but either the Hulk comes out or someone tracks him down and he has to move again.

Captain Defenestrator

Question: Next to the fact this is a terrible movie, can anyone tell me about what the plot was? I mean, seriously. What did the aliens came to do and why did the Americans attack them?

lionhead

Chosen answer: The film, loosely based on the popular Milton Bradley board game, has relatively little plot. When Earth discovers there is a similar planet in the solar system, they transmit a signal to it, searching for intelligent life. Aliens on the newly discovered planet detect the signal and send five ships to Earth. One ship collides with a satellite and crashes, while the others land near Hawaii and erect an impenetrable shield around the islands. The lead character, Alex, is a general slacker whose brother, a U.S. Naval officer, had forced Alex to join the Navy after he got into some legal trouble. From within the aliens' shield, Alex is able to lead a resistance against the alien invasion, eventually destroying them after discovering their physical weakness.

Question: I don't remember if it was mentioned in the movie, but are the three stooges brothers or friends?

Rydersriot87

Chosen answer: The original Three Stooges was comprised of two brothers, Moe Howard and Curly Howard, and also Larry Fine, who was unrelated. After Curley suffered a debilitating stroke in the 1950s, his brother, Shemp Howard, took over as the third Stooge. In this movie they're just friends.

raywest

Answer: In the film, they grow up as friends, but it is a bit misleading, considering they were all babies put on the doorstep together. That WOULD make one confused as to the answer to that question.

Question: Charlie said to Kirby as he was stabbing her "4 years of classes together and you only notice me now" he didn't exactly make a move either, what was stopping him from making a move in all the years he's known her?

Answer: Many guys like girls and don't make a move, mostly because they're afraid of rejection. At that time he didn't have anything to lose.

Anastasios Anastasatos

The One with the Blackout - S1-E7

Question: When they're all playing the game where everyone has to reveal the weirdest place he/she had sex, Rachel says, "Oh, alright. The weirdest place would have to be. Oh, the foot of the bed." This has Joey and Ross much impressed and the girls are smiling too. Could anyone explain the joke? Or are the friends just being sarcastic at Rachel being relatively 'less' adventurous?

Answer: They are being, as you say, sarcastic.

Anastasios Anastasatos

Question: Why does Bettlejuice give Lydia some BS reason why he can't tell her his name, but them puts her through a ridiculous round of charades for her to guess it?

Carl Missouri

Chosen answer: Because he can't say his own name, therefore the charades is the only way he can get her to figure out what his name is to say it.

Guy

Question: When Luke has an argument with Owen and Beru and storms out, Beru says to Owen "He's too much like his father", to which Owen says "I know. That's what I'm afraid of". But if Luke is like Anakin (as Owen and Beru fear), then what caused Luke to not go to the dark side like his father did, if Luke had all this frustration of wanting more control in this movie like his father did when he was younger?

Answer: Luke, despite his typically youthful frustrations, has been raised in a loving family environment. Compared to his father, who was separated from his mother at an early age, leaving her in slavery, raised by the strict Jedi Order, ended up in a secret marriage that he was unable to acknowledge and had a Sith Lord working on manipulating him from the age of ten onwards, Luke's frustrations are nothing.

Tailkinker

Answer: Aunt Beru is most likely referring to Luke and Anakin's shared recklessness and impulsivity (and this works regardless if we're factoring in films outside of the original or not).

TonyPH

Chosen answer: At the end of the film the girl in his car says "I thought you wanted to go to Tokyo?" to which he replies "Yeah, we will. Soon" Indicating this film took place before Tokyo Drift.

Ssiscool

Answer: In the overall timeline of all the films, the events of Tokyo Drift take place after the events of Fast and Furious 6. However, there is obviously something major involving Han coming in Fast and Furious 9 (2021) given what's seen in the trailer.

Answer: First of all, F4, F5 and F6 all take place before Tokyo Drift. In F9, it is revealed that Han has been alive this whole time and had gone into hiding after working with Mr. Nobody.

Question: What is the purpose of the guns and cannons that the Oompa Loompas are firing in the elevator scene?

Movie Lover

Answer: It was to make poprocks-esque candy.

It was just a pointless room like the fudge mountain room.

Chosen answer: There isn't one. Hence Mike's question about having no point and Charlie's response that candy doesn't need a point.

Garlonuss

Question: Why didn't Koslova try to fight while the Jackal is talking to her?

Answer: Because she's dying, in shock, losing blood, and in pain.

raywest

Answer: She's in too much pain to fight. He also just helped her to slow her bleeding, after that she seems to weirdly trust him.

Question: Who are the two men who did the voices for the talking rings?

Answer: It was one man...Paul Frees.

CCARNI

Question: Because the camera is hand-held, it's hard to get a clear picture of what is going on from time to time. Can anyone tell me why the filmmakers had to cut the leg off of their guide, as shown in the footage?

Answer: He was bitten on the foot by a poisonous spider that was hiding in his boot. They cut his leg off to stop the poison from spreading.

Question: Was there any explanation given for D'Leh's father leaving his home and tribe so suddenly?

Answer: It is explained that he decided not to wait for the last hunt and left to find another way to feed the tribe. He left in secret so that others would not follow him abandoning the tribe.
