Question: I am a big X-files fan, but there is something in this movie that I think I may have missed in the series - can someone help me out? We are told in the series that Mulder doesn't drink. One time when he is getting drunk in a hotel room on his own, it is because of a strange planetary alignment and he himself finds it odd that he is drinking. My question is, when did he abandon this and start going out and drowning his sorrows on his own? I'm confused - maybe I missed the memo?

Chosen answer: Mulder has just hit rock bottom and is questioning just about everything at this point, so drinking is not really out of character.

Question: What is the differences between 1st degree murder, second, and third degree murder?

Chosen answer: First degree murder is premeditated, second degree is a crime of passion (i.e. murder in the heat of the moment) and third degree is now called manslaughter - accidental killing.

Question: Who is Conrad? Harry Conick, Jr.'s character writes him a letter at the end, and there is a Conrad character listed in the credits, but I haven't been able to find him.

Answer: I thought that it was Peter Kurten (Foley) that broke in and left the book. However if it was Conrad, then he does not appear in the flesh in the film.

Alan Keddie

Chosen answer: Conrad is the man that breaks into Helen's flat and leaves the book. Happens just over 1 hour into the film.

The Suicide - S3-E15

Question: When George and Elaine go to see the psychic, the psychic tells George that she sees a Pauline. George gasps and says that his brother once impregnated a woman named Pauline. Since when does George have a brother? Was this brother shown or mentioned in any other episode?

Dandude776 1

Chosen answer: George does mention his brother in the episode "The Parking Space". They actually really never mention anything that contradicts the fact he had a brother though, it just isn't mentioned.

Question: About the "Obvious Special Effects Blur" picture: why would there be special effects there? Is it because it was shot with a blue screen, and added the background later, or...?

Chosen answer: The top of the building was just a set, with the background filled in digitally to add perspective - true of most of the film. Still doesn't really explain why it's so blurred - never seen anything like that in any other films.

Question: Can anyone explain what happened to Stackhouse when he ejected? I understand that he injured his leg. How did that happen? Is it actually possible?

Chosen answer: It is possible that he has done of one two things. Banged his leg on something inside the cockpit causing it to break, or landed too hard on his way down. It is common for people to break limbs when parachuting/sky diving. It is possible that his bones were just not up to withstanding the force which he incurred.

Or a piece of shrapnel from the jet breaking apart cut his leg.

Play with Fire - S3-E22

Question: Sarah asks Grissom to have dinner with her. Moments before, Grissom removes a card from his filofax thing for a 'Dr. Karen Roth'. I'm uncertain, but is this the blonde entomologist he had chemistry with in an earlier episode (they were discussing their mutual love of tarantulas, I think)? If not, who is it?

Chosen answer: It's his ear doctor. At the time, he was thinking of getting his big operation. The entymologist's name was Terri Miller.

Question: Does anyone know if the police file videos shown at the start and end are real, or were they made for the movie?

Chosen answer: It was made for the movie. The story is based on a true story, the idea came from a real murderer.

Question: The movie is obviously shown out of sync. Can anyone let me know, if the movie was shot in sync what would be the very first scene and what would be the very last scene?

Chosen answer: The very first scene that occurs chronologically in the movie is the scene with Christopher Walken giving young Butch the gold watch. The next scene, the first one that occurs in "present day," would be the second scene in the film, with Jules and Vincent going to kill the students. The last scene would therefore be the last scene of "The Gold Watch," where Butch and Fabienne zoom off into the distance on Zed's chopper. This is because Butch kills Vincent Vega in "The Gold Watch," yet Vincent appears in both other stories.

Question: Is it ever explained why Robbins has a limp and uses a cane of some sort?

Chosen answer: The answer is the actor who plays him, Robert Hall, is a double amputee therefore he needs his crutch to get around in everyday life not just on the TV show. See this CNN page for more details: http://edition.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/TV/11/13/apontv.hall.ap/. I'm sure in one episode he mentions something about his legs and hints at it being a Vietnam injury.

Question: I can not figure out how in the world agent Starling makes the connection about where Buffalo Bill lives. I don't understand the connection she makes at the house where she finds the pictures and says "you covet what you see" It has driven me crazy for years and I need help. How does she figure it all out?

Chosen answer: In Frederika's bedroom Clarice sees the dress being made and recognises that the pieces of material are the same shape as the pieces of skin missing from the victims' bodies. In the bank, where Clarice meets Frederika's friend, Stacy tells her the address of 'Mrs Lippman' whom Frederika used to work with. Presumably Buffalo Bill is related to, or is, Mrs. Lippman since that is where Clarice finds him.

jle

He's not Mrs Lippman. He did, however, kill her. As Clarice chases him through the cellar, the woman's decomposing body is in a tub.

Answer: "You covet what you see": Agent Starling looks out the window of the girl's house to see who the neighbors are, who may have been watching the girl.

Question: When Donnie is talking to his teacher, he says that he can't continue the conversation because he could lose his job. Why? Does this have anything significant to do with the plot?

Chosen answer: Donnie is attending a private religious school (thus the uniforms and the fact that a former teacher, Ms. Sparrow, was a nun) and if his science teacher continued his explanation he would be teaching against the conservative religious curriculum.

Question: Is the footage of the Bird of Prey exploding the same exact footage of the Bird of Prey exploding from Star Trek VI?

Chosen answer: Yes, it is.

Question: How does he fold the Monet in half to fit into the briefcase? Originally I thought he'd separated it from the wooden frame (ie. just a canvas), but when he takes it out back at his house he holds it up, and the wooden frame's still in one piece. Also, surely folding it in half would crack the paint, but despite the painting being twice the width of the briefcase (it fits snugly when the case is open), he then shuts the case down to a "normal" size. Any ideas?

Chosen answer: The only explanation I can come up with is that the inner part of the frame is precut. With the frame cut that way it would allow the picture to fold, but when unfolded it would be fairly rigid with the exception of bending it forward at that point. When he pulls the painting out, it still holds the square shape of the frame. Best I can come up with.

Question: I know this is all part of the mystery, but how the hell does he steal the second painting? Everything else he's planned you can see the logic behind, how it worked, etc., but there's no possible way he could have got to the second picture - all the gates were shut and locked, the metal fireguards were in place...any ideas? If anyone involved in the making/writing of it is reading this, can they please get in touch with me?

Chosen answer: On the commentary track for the DVD the director states that he has no idea how Thomas Crown stole the final painting.

Answer: The soft piano music at the start of the film is by Bill Conti, who is the soundtrack composer. I believe the piece is called Glider as it is used later in the film during the Glider flying scene.

Question: At the end of the second film, Felicity went to the future with Austin. When this film starts she's nowhere in site for the whole movie. What ever happened to her?

Chosen answer: An original cut featured the opening scene with Heather Graham in it (I'm not sure what happens) - I'm assuming they dropped that idea when they could get hold of all the cameo stars. Hopefully it'll surface on the DVD.

Question: When Neo meets the Oracle in her kitchen he asks why she didn't tell him what was going on before. She tells him he knows and points to a sign above the beaded door. Is this a latin phrase? What does it mean?

Chosen answer: In the first film she points this same sign out to Neo and explains that it means "Know Thyself"

Question: What's the English translation of what the French guy says (in French) after commenting that French is a great language to swear in?

Chosen answer: The French phrase is [edited due to not being 100% sure what to star out] Roughly, with some liberties to prepositions and word order: Name o' God, bastards f**ked your mother up the a** in some sh*tty whorehouse.

Question: While Mike, Sully, and Boo are riding the doors, Mike says something that sounds to me like "Great plan, get it saved." What is he actually saying?

Chosen answer: According to the subtitles on my DVD, Mike says "What a plan - simple, yet insane."

The Accused Is Entitled - S3-E2

Question: How did the movie star's blood on the sheet prove that he was the murderer? Maybe his scab just got knocked off. Hardly damning evidence by itself. Anyone explain?

Chosen answer: The blood made a specific imprint of a scar on his knee which CSI matched to his knee and the trailer step he fell on.
