Continuity mistake: When Lucius is putting aftershave on in front of the mirror, he hears the robot outside and runs to the window, leaving the bottle of aftershave on the desk with the lid off. He returns to open the drawer, and the lid is back on. (01:29:00)
Revealing mistake: After Helen finds the hair on Bob's suit, she goes to him while he is in the car and says," Have a great trip. I love you, so much.", Bob backs the car out of the driveway. He backs out and turns, but you can see his hand on the top of the steering wheel doesn't move. (00:47:05)
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Incredible lands on the island, he gets stuck in his capsule, eventually smashing it to get out. He starts stretching, bending backwards. The angle lowers to show that Mr. Incredible's suit is now a two-piece, revealing his fat stomach. During the rest of the movie, the suit is a one-piece, so this wouldn't be possible. (00:35:15)
Continuity mistake: After the dinner table scene, Bob leaves to go out with Frozone. Then Helen turns to talk to Dash. In the first shot, on Dash's plate all the brocoli pieces sit around the steak. Then the shot changes, a brocoli piece is suddenly sitting atop the piece of steak. (00:19:20 - 00:20:15)
Continuity mistake: When Mr. I and Frozone are in the jewelry store, and Frozone goes to the water cooler to get a drink, you can see the handle is in a vertical position. When he has finished and leaves it, the handle stays in a horizontal position. (00:22:35)
Continuity mistake: The "Denied" word stamped by Mr. Incredible on the paper moves from the center of the sheet to the top, close to the logo.
Continuity mistake: When Helen and Vi are talking at the dinner table, Vi's fork changes position a few times between shots. (00:17:40)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie when Mr. Incredible sees the police chase, he checks his watch and says "Yeah, I've got time". Then he has the car put his super suit on. When he sits up and raises his hands to have his gloves put on, his watch is gone. Later, after getting the cat out of the tree, he pulls up his glove to check the time and his watch is back.
Factual error: When the plane is attacked by missiles, Helen punches a button on the cockpit console and a screen lights up that says "chaff". The next shot shows the rear of the plane with several burning items coming from it that are supposed to be chaff. However, chaff containers burst open into thousands of radar-reflective strips that are meant to confuse radar-guided missiles (see real chaff in the movie Air Force One). What actually comes out are flares that burn extremely hot to confuse heat-seeking missiles. While it might be suggested that we just never see the containers burst open, later in the missile chase we see the exact same items in view for a much longer time and they never burst open.
Continuity mistake: When Edna agrees to create a new super-suit for Mr. Incredible, she states that Stratogale and Thunderhead were active in the late 50's. In addition, fifteen years after the supers are banned, on the day Dash is sent to the principal's office, the newspaper Bob is reading has a date of 1960-something. However, while Bob is considering Mirage's offer and the camera pans the wall of his achievements, a date on a newspaper says 2000-something.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Incredible saves the man that jumped from the building, their position changes between shots when they breaks the window. From behind, the man is bent over Mr. Incredible's shoulders but in the next shot, he's on his chest. The second shot happens at the same time, so it's impossible for them to be in two different positions. (00:06:10)
Continuity mistake: After Bob gets back home from "re-living the glory days", you can see a barbecue in the back yard and it is on the cement deck. But at the end of the scene, when the camera shows an aerial view of the house, the barbecue is on the grass. (00:24:40 - 00:26:50)
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Incredible is chasing robbers in his super car and the old woman is trying to get her cat to come down from the tree, she sees him coming quite near and runs out onto the road to flag him down. Cut to inside the car, and the old woman is much further up the road than in the previous shot otherwise he wouldn't have had time to stop.
Continuity mistake: After the bomb explodes on the tramway track, Mr. Incredible is further away from the broken part when he stands up. It is most noticeable by the broken rails at his left. (00:08:25)
Continuity mistake: When Dash and Violet wake up on the island, there's a section of rock wall right behind them. The bird asks for ID, Dash wakes Violet up to show her, and she steps forward. The camera switches positions a few times, then the kids turn around and run for it. Before they turn, the rock wall is on the left and there's a clearing to the right- but the complete 180 they make doesn't warrant enough space for them to go around the rock wall- actually, when they turn to run the rock wall is not only farther away from them, it's already behind them. (01:22:00)
Continuity mistake: When Helen and Edna go into her lab and sit down at the "viewing" table, E sets the pitcher down on her side of the table. A couple of shots later the pitcher is on Helen's side of the table. Also, when the table moved back really fast, the items on the table would become misplaced, but they remained stationary. (00:55:05)
Continuity mistake: When Helen opens the luggage on the airplane, the zipper's handle keeps switching side. (01:05:25)
Continuity mistake: When Bob Parr goes to his boss' office to be told off, you can see the door in the background is closed. Bob gets up and walks toward the door which he has now supposedly opened. You never see it physically come into shot, but when Bob is told to close the door, the shot hasn't changed but you can now see the door in shot being closed, which means the door suddenly opened itself. The framing of the shot never changes, therefore we should have seen the door in shot.
Continuity mistake: In the Parrs' house, right outside the kitchen is the garage (you can see this numerous time throughout the movie). But when Bob comes back late Wednesday night, and when Helen is giving Jack-Jack a bath, when you look out the window, the garage is not there. All you can see is the sky. You should be able to see the garage directly outside the kitchen door.
Continuity mistake: Watch the street during the sequence where the railway explodes, starting when Mr. Incredible falls until the moment he stops the train: The number of cars parked on the street magically changes (a lot) between shots. (00:08:30)
Chosen answer: If any object can move across the water quickly enough, the weight isn't transferred completely. In some Scandinavian countries, they actually DRIVE very quickly across water in adapted vehicles. If the character of Dash could actually run that fast, it is feasible and possible for him to run on the water's surface.
