Question: Could someone please tell me where I can find a good quality picture of the back of Jean Grey's coat? I want to copy the Phoenix symbol that you see on the back of her coat (it's when Jean and Storm enter the church looking for Nightcrawler). I can't get anything resembling a decent picture on my TV (I even went frame by frame), and various Google image searches haven't even yielded a crappy picture. For something that should be simple, it's sure driving me up a wall. If anyone can help me out I will be extremely grateful.

Chosen answer: I don't know if this is exactly because I can't see it very good in the movie, but give a try: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_AnPqTL-MV8I/SWgBkLw-GWI/AAAAAAAABIU/7Bfy-T3svkw/s400/Phoenix.bmp. Question: In the later seasons, why is Moe trying to kill himself (mainly the Christmas episodes)?

Chosen answer: Simple, he's always depressed this time of year. He's ugly, he's alone and getting older. Christmas is the worst time of year to be all of all the above. That's why he tries to off himself every Christmas, and lucky for us he fails.

Question: Is there any particular reason that Leaven refers to the Z coordinate as "zed?" I know that it would be used to differentiate between similar sounding letters, but since spacial coordinates only use X, Y, and Z, (to my knowledge) it doesn't really seem necessary. I'm guessing it's a mathematics thing that I just don't know, but if anybody can answer, it would be greatly appreciated.

Knever

Chosen answer: Cube is a Canadian film. In Canada, the last letter of the alphabet is pronounced "zed" rather than "zee".

Question: We all know that movie guns tend to have outrageous amounts of ammunition, but what about movie quivers? In the big battle Hawkeye is knocking out arrow-ey death all over the place, and most of the time his quiver seems to be full. Up until it's totally empty of course. So just how many arrows does that thing carry, and how many arrows did he shoot in the movie?

Chosen answer: The arrows in Hawkeye's quiver are very tightly packed - promotional shots of scenes immediately prior to the final battle seem to suggest that he has several dozen arrows in there. The number does visibly decrease as the battle progresses, although the initial tight packing makes it less easy to tell. A number of the shots he takes are also at close range, allowing him to potentially retrieve the arrows for re-use - it's only once he's atop the building, mostly sniping at long range, that he finally runs out. As for precisely how many arrows he fires in the course of the movie, watch it and count 'em.

Question: **SPOILER** When Loki kills Agent Coulson, Coulson has his Captain America cards in his pocket but later Maria tells Fury something about the cards being in a locker. Did I understand that right? And how and why were the cards in Coulson's pocket?

Chosen answer: Coulson never had the cards in his pocket. They were in fact in his locker all along. This was done by Fury to help motivate the remaining Avengers to work together and save the world!

Question: Bit of a stupid question, but was just wondering. When Mr Andrews is talking to Rose, Cal and Ruth during the tour of the ship, Rose says that there are not enough boats for everyone on board, and Mr Andrews explains that he wanted more boats or something, and he was told that they would make the deck too cluttered so he was overruled, and the ship got the boats it does. But as Mr Andrews designed/ constructed the ship, surely it's up to him how many lifeboats there are etc, so why did he back down?

Heather Benton Premium member

Chosen answer: It certainly was not up to him. Andrews was only the designer and an employee of the company, White Star Line. Whatever he may have wanted or recommended, the company had the power and the legal right to overrule him in favor of what they felt made the ship more profitable. They did not want their high-paying clientele's ocean view obstructed by too many lifeboats. Safety regulations were far more lax at this time, though many new ones were enacted following the tragedy, including more lifeboats.

Question: On the back of the complete series DVD I just purchased, it says there are 14 episodes plus 3 unaired ones. The episode guide only lists 15 episodes (counting both parts of Serenity). Is this a typo or is there something I'm missing?

Brad Premium member

Chosen answer: I think you're misreading it. The fourteen count is the overall total inclusive (e.g. the 11 aired episodes + the 3 unaired ones).

Question: How exactly was Thor able to get back to Earth when the bifrost bridge was previously destroyed in his movie?

Rydersriot87 Premium member

Chosen answer: In the original "Thor" movie, Loki tells Thor that there are ways into Asgard other than the Bifrost. Then when Thor takes Loki from the transport and the two of them are alone, Loki says "How much dark energy did the Allfather have to use to conjure you here?". Odin used dark energy to open a wormhole to send Thor back to earth.

Question: Between the events in The Incredible Hulk (2008) and The Avengers how did Bruce Banner end up in India when he was last in Canada? Did it have anything to do with what happened at the end of the Incredible Hulk movie?

Rydersriot87 Premium member

Chosen answer: Very probably. The moving around is just how he lives: He goes to some remote area where he won't be recognized, but either the Hulk comes out or someone tracks him down and he has to move again.

Question: Next to the fact this is a terrible movie, can anyone tell me about what the plot was? I mean, seriously. What did the aliens came to do and why did the Americans attack them?

lionhead

Chosen answer: The film, loosely based on the popular Milton Bradley board game, has relatively little plot. When Earth discovers there is a similar planet in the solar system, they transmit a signal to it, searching for intelligent life. Aliens on the newly discovered planet detect the signal and send five ships to Earth. One ship collides with a satellite and crashes, while the others land near Hawaii and erect an impenetrable shield around the islands. The lead character, Alex, is a general slacker whose brother, a U.S. Naval officer, had forced Alex to join the Navy after he got into some legal trouble. From within the aliens' shield, Alex is able to lead a resistance against the alien invasion, eventually destroying them after discovering their physical weakness.

Question: I don't remember if it was mentioned in the movie, but are the three stooges brothers or friends?

Rydersriot87 Premium member

Chosen answer: The original Three Stooges was comprised of two brothers, Moe Howard and Curly Howard, and also Larry Fine, who was unrelated. After Curley suffered a debilitating stroke in the 1950s, his brother, Shemp Howard, took over as the third Stooge. In this movie they're just friends.

Question: Charlie said to Kirby as he was stabbing her "4 years of classes together and you only notice me now" he didn't exactly make a move either, what was stopping him from making a move in all the years he's known her?

Chosen answer: Many guys like girls and don't make a move, mostly because they're afraid of rejection. At that time he didn't have anything to lose.

The One with the Blackout - S1-E7

Question: When they're all playing the game where everyone has to reveal the weirdest place he/she had sex, Rachel says, "Oh, alright. The weirdest place would have to be. Oh, the foot of the bed." This has Joey and Ross much impressed and the girls are smiling too. Could anyone explain the joke? Or are the friends just being sarcastic at Rachel being relatively 'less' adventurous?

Chosen answer: They are being, as you say, sarcastic.

Question: Why does Bettlejuice give Lydia some BS reason why he can't tell her his name, but them puts her through a ridiculous round of charades for her to guess it?

Carl Missouri

Chosen answer: Because he can't say his own name, therefore the charades is the only way he can get her to figure out what his name is to say it.

Guy

Question: When Luke has an argument with Owen and Beru and storms out, Beru says to Owen "He's too much like his father", to which Owen says "I know. That's what I'm afraid of". But if Luke is like Anakin (as Owen and Beru fear), then what caused Luke to not go to the dark side like his father did, if Luke had all this frustration of wanting more control in this movie like his father did when he was younger?

Chosen answer: Luke, despite his typically youthful frustrations, has been raised in a loving family environment. Compared to his father, who was separated from his mother at an early age, leaving her in slavery, raised by the strict Jedi Order, ended up in a secret marriage that he was unable to acknowledge and had a Sith Lord working on manipulating him from the age of ten onwards, Luke's frustrations are nothing.

Question: What is the purpose of the guns and cannons that the Oompa Loompa's are firing in the elevator scene?

Movie Lover

Garlonuss Premium member

Answer: It was to make poprocks-esque candy.
