Question: Early on, Odin is shown telling very young Thor and Loki about the great Frost Giant battle held in Scandinavia, presumably before they were born. Yet the children's book and Erik's own childhood memories indicate that adult Thor and Loki were part of the legends that come from that region, and by implication, would date to that time (965 AD?). Is Thor old enough to remember visiting Earth hundreds of years ago, or not?

mbelvadi

Chosen answer: There was more than one battle against the Frost Giants. Thor and Loki may have been present for another one. Also, we're talking about mythology here. Stories often get mixed up and changed or combined.

Question: On Dagobah, when Luke goes into the cave he finds Darth Vader and kills him, his helmet explodes and turns out Darth Vader is Luke. How does this make any sense?

Casual Person

Chosen answer: Luke is seeing visions relating to possible futures. In this case, it's effectively a warning that, if he embraces the path of violence, which he has at this point by keeping his weapons with him when Yoda told him to leave them behind, then he risks falling to the Dark Side and becoming just as bad as Vader.

School Reunion - S2-E6

Question: When the Doctor says good-bye to Sarah-Jane at the end of the show, it is as if he'll never see her again, yet, he visits her on 'The Sarah Jane Adventures'. Being a time lord, he would know if he'd see her again so why did he say good-bye?

Shadow5

Chosen answer: He doesn't know his own future. She might die or he might regenerate before he sees her again.

Question: In the beginning of "Thor", the battle between Odin's army and Laufey's army happened in Norway. In (Captain America) the Tesseract was found in Norway during World War II. Do you think there is a connection ?

thor stark

Chosen answer: The Tesseract is described in Captain America as being "the jewel of Odin's treasure room", so clearly it has significant links to the Asgardians, making it perfectly reasonable that it was located in Norway. Whether its presence there is directly linked to the battle in some way is unknown.

Question: When Kevin admits to having slept with no one at college, considering what Jess tells Vicky that if he said he slept with 3 he more likely slept with 1 or none will it be true what Stifler said about Vicky that if she said 1 it more likely to be 3?

sparky1690

Chosen answer: Yes. That's the point of the theory. Men multiply the number of women they've had sex with by 3, women divide the number by 3.

Question: How do One, Rain and Olivera end up in this one? All of them were very thoroughly killed off and the end of their respective movies. Are they clones as well, and if so, why doesn't Umbrella just use new guards?

Friso94

Chosen answer: Umbrella can produce their DNA's again and again. They use them because Alice acts mostly with her feelings and all these persons mean something to her.

Question: In the openings scene, the prehuman drinks a tar-like fluid (like the one poisoning Halloway later on), while looking at a spaceship hovering above. He then dies, falls into the river and disintegrates. I do not understand this scene, is he the last of the surviving prehumans committing suicide and the ship above is the others leaving the planet?

Chosen answer: The giant ship has landed on Earth to drop off the Engineer so that he can terraform the planet and make it sustainable for life. He might drinks the black stuff to break down his own structure and spread life on Earth through his own DNA.

Question: What makes Neo the Chosen One? Chosen by who or what? And what makes Morpheus and the Oracle so knowledgeable about the Chosen One?

Chosen answer: 1) Neo is the One because of a systematic flaw in the Matrix's programming that accounts for the rare humans who don't accept the Matrix, as explained by the Architect in the second film. 2) The Oracle knows about the One because she was the one who discovered the flaw. 3) Morpheus knows about the One because the Oracle told him.

Question: When the rings were being handed out, why didn't the hobbits receive any?

Chosen answer: Because Sauron doesn't consider them any sort of threat, unlike the races of Men, Elves and Dwarves. He only gave the rings to the races he was worried about.

Question: How does Don Vito Corleone know that a meeting was going to be setup for Michael's assassination?

superflyingcrap

Answer: Being a Don for such a long time, Vito has probably seen most every dirty trick used by the other families.

Chosen answer: Because that's how he would organize a hit like that.

Captain Defenestrator Premium member

Answer: The Corleones are the most powerful of the New York Five Families. With Don Corleone now retired, Michael is perceived as an inexperienced and weak successor, making him a likely target for the other dons. He would be the most vulnerable at a closed meeting. Vito knows this and that if Michael were assassinated, the Corleone empire would fall apart and their territory taken over.

Question: The scene where Kate is sitting at the bar talking to the other female doctor and it gets quiet, Kate seems to realize something and then, "Oh my God" to herself. What is it that she realized?

PPLYKJO

Chosen answer: She remembers the guy at the party. He tried to get her attention. She dissed him in her misery. They talk about a book called Persuasion... She says it's her favorite, all about a couple who keep meeting in the wrong time and place and you never know til the end whether or not it will work out. They agree that it's a terrible premise... then they dance in the dark... and end up in this really sexy kiss that Morgan and Mona walk in on.

Question: When Fred and George were in possession of the Marauders Map, before giving it to Harry, how come they never wondered why Ron was always hanging around with a person called Peter Pettigrew? He shows up on the Map even whilst disguised as Scabbers, as we know from when Harry spots him.

JBrock

Chosen answer: Fred and George used the map to aid them in their mischievous activities at Hogwarts, and probably had little interest in what their little brother was doing or who he might be with at any given time.

Question: Why did Harry and Hermione fear the werewolf if they knew that Hermione would save them?

Loesjuh1985

Chosen answer: They didn't know. Hermione's call distracted the werewolf when they first saw him, true enough, but that was before they had time jumped, so the Harry and Hermione that were scared of the werewolf were unaware that their future selves were around to save them.

roboc

Question: Can somebody please tell me why there was a dog in the sky? I know it had something to do with the 'Grim'.

Loesjuh1985

Chosen answer: That's it exactly. It's a bit of in-world foreshadowing. Divination isn't complete malarkey, as McGonagall makes it out to be; Trelawney just doesn't have a knack for it aside from Prophecy which she herself is ignorant of actually possessing. Whatever magic controls such things as tea leaves and the like caused the clouds to form into the shape of a Grim. Harry just misunderstood the warning.

Question: Harry sees a dream of attacking Mr. Weasley as a snake, this was real. Harry sees a dream about Voldemort hurting Sirius, this is not real. Can anyone explain this to me?

Loesjuh1985

Chosen answer: Harry was able to tap into Voldemort's mind and see what he was seeing. When Voldemort learns that Harry can do this, he plants a false vision in Harry's mind that Sirius is being tortured so that Harry will be lured into a trap at the Ministry.
