B.A.P.S.

Question: When the lawyer told Nisi that Mr. B. "already knew" she wasn't Lily's granddaughter, did he know from the first day they showed up or from the day the lawyer came over to tell Mr. B. about what his nephew said about Mickey and Nisi?

Answer: He knew right away, because he knew that Lily didn't have any children, so Nisi and Mickey could not be Lily's granddaughters.

Question: Mr. B knew Nisi wasn't Lily's granddaughter because Lily never had children, but how did he know Lily never had children?

Answer: Since there's no definitive answer given in the movie, here's my guess as to how Mr. Blakemore knew that Lily never had children. The estate where Mr. B lives originally belonged to his parents/family. But his personal interest in creating a successful fabric business is due to his love for Lily, because she's the one who had dreams of becoming a clothing designer. He felt he owed everything to her. So at some point in the past, some years after his forced arranged marriage, and possibly after the passing of his parents/family members who separated him from Lily, Mr. B could have tried to locate Lily, then found out that she had died (childless) and he kept that painful information private, not telling his nephew, who was his last living relative. He tells Nisi that no fortune is worth the loss of a true love, some things are priceless.

Question: I know Mr. B left the girls 1 million dollars...how much did he leave Manly? Or did he leave Manly the mansion? And did the lawyer say he left the nephew nothing or zero?

Answer: Mr. B left the girls 100 million dollars. Manly was left with everything at the mansion including the mansion itself. The nephew got nothing.

Nephew got 2 cents.

I've always wondered what she said, because nothing, and zip, never matched up. 2 cents totally does.

It's many moons later but I'm glad you answered what Manly received. I was trying to read the lawyers lips but I didn't get Manly. I knew the nephew got zero; good.

He left the girls $100 billion. He was in the fabric industry. Worth well over $100 million. Manly the mansion and everything in it. 2 cents to the nephew.

Answer: Girls got 100 million dollars.

Did they get a million a piece.

They had 50 million a piece.

Answer: Nephew was left with zip.

Continuity mistake: In the bathroom scene, the toilet seat position differs between shots.

Trivia: At the start of the first scene, when Nisi serves the customer she calls Nate, he is played by Rudy Ray Moore, known for the title role in the 1975 film Dolemite one of the most popular Blaxploitation films of the 70s. After Nate refuses the burned toast, Mickey tells Nisi, "Girl, don't pay him no mind, he thinks he's Dolemite." Also, note the name "N. Townsend" on Nate's uniform patch, which is the last name of the director, Robert Townsend.
