Star Wars (1977)

Question: Five ships survive the destruction of the Death Star: Vader in his custom TIE, Han and Chewie in the Millennium Falcon, Luke and Wedge in their X-Wings, and a Y-Wing. Who's in the Y-Wing?

Phoenix

Chosen answer: The "X-Wing" computer game implies that the pilot of the surviving Y-Wing is the game's lead character, Keyan Farlander.

The Incredibles (2004)

Trivia: Other supers from the movie that mimic comic book heroes (disregarding gender): Psycwave is Professor X, Phylange is Banshee, Blazestone is Pyro, Thunderhead is Storm, Gazerbeam is Cyclops, Apogee is Sunspot, and Gamma Jack is Ultraverse's Atom Bob. Jack-Jack also briefly manifests the powers of the Human Torch and the Incredible Hulk and the board that Frozone uses near the end is reminiscent of the Silver Surfer.

Chosen - S7-E22

Revealing mistake: Early in the final fight, Vi makes a flying kick to knock an Ubervamp off the cliff. As she lands, she swings back and twists slightly, suspiciously like one would do if suspended on a wire. There is no way she could gain this motion by kicking straight off the vamp as shown. Question: Obviously there's some background on the Sith Lords that isn't explained in the movie. There is the implication that they ruled before the Republic was established. Is there more to this backstory?

Phoenix

Chosen answer: The best place for this is the official Star Wars Databank: http://www.starwars.com/databank/organization/thesith/index.html. There's also a lot of information in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sith.

The Beach (2000)

Continuity mistake: When the four tourists are killed by the farmers the last one to die is the girl with the map in her hand. When she falls the map is in a stream of water and starts to float away. Two shots later the map is secure under her hand.

Phoenix

Continuity mistake: In the church, Peyton asks Terri about her video camera. She has it raised to shoulder height. Cut to her face and the camera's gone. The next shot is through the camera and shows the same view of Peyton we could see before over her shoulder, so she didn't move it. (00:20:45)

Cursed (2005)

Trivia: In the shot of the city's lights that pans over to the car before the accident, the lights form a pentacle aka the Mark of the Beast.

Phoenix

Continuity mistake: Lara cuts her arm at the Lunar Temple before she leaves. There is no blood whatsoever until a quick shot shows her pulling her hand away from the cut (it wasn't covering it before while she was swimming) and the cut pouring blood, which immediately disappears as the shark shows up. The blood is never seen again.

Wild Wild West (1999)

Factual error: West and Gordon are outfitted with massively powerful magnetic collars. Somehow the two collars don't interact with each other at all until they try to remove them, when they prove able to attract each other from at least 20 meters. Gordon rationalizes this by saying that they accidentally reversed one magnet's polarity, but if this were so then the magnets should have originally opposed each other with the same force, instantly throwing each other apart as soon as they were brought within meters of each other. Nonsensical.

Cellular (2004)

Continuity mistake: When Ryan drives through the construction site, he hits a puddle of mud that splashes up on the windshield so he puts on his wipers. The very next shot shows that the entire front of the car is clean. (00:26:25)

Bubba Ho-Tep (2002)

Factual error: During the fight just before Elvis uses the alcohol, Bubba Ho-tep exclaims a series of Egyptian hieroglyphs which are translated as "By the unwinking eye of Ra." The symbol on the far right is not the Eye of Ra (which faces right) but the Eye of Thoth (an identical symbol which faces left). (01:18:10)

Mars Attacks! (1996)

Continuity mistake: The helicopters at the landing site escort the saucer down, then immediately disappear. They are completely gone as the saucer touches down and do not participate in the ensuing battle, even though the Martians are never seen aiming their guns in the air. (00:36:10)

Mars Attacks! (1996)

Continuity mistake: When Land is presenting to the investors during the invasion, a saucer flies behind him just as he puts on his hat. In the next shot, that saucer is gone, though there are others still in the background. It didn't move quickly enough to get offscreen in that time. (01:11:45)

Mars Attacks! (1996)

Continuity mistake: Jason Stone stands a knife in his food as he passes the phone to his wife at the breakfast table. The knife disappears in the next shot, but reappears in every closeup on Jason. (00:13:00)
