Continuity mistake: When the four tourists are killed by the farmers the last one to die is the girl with the map in her hand. When she falls the map is in a stream of water and starts to float away. Two shots later the map is secure under her hand.

Continuity mistake: In the church, Peyton asks Terri about her video camera. She has it raised to shoulder height. Cut to her face and the camera's gone. The next shot is through the camera and shows the same view of Peyton we could see before over her shoulder, so she didn't move it. (00:20:45)

Continuity mistake: Lara cuts her arm at the Lunar Temple before she leaves. There is no blood whatsoever until a quick shot shows her pulling her hand away from the cut (it wasn't covering it before while she was swimming) and the cut pouring blood, which immediately disappears as the shark shows up. The blood is never seen again.

Continuity mistake: When Ryan drives through the construction site, he hits a puddle of mud that splashes up on the windshield so he puts on his wipers. The very next shot shows that the entire front of the car is clean. (00:26:25)

Continuity mistake: The helicopters at the landing site escort the saucer down, then immediately disappear. They are completely gone as the saucer touches down and do not participate in the ensuing battle, even though the Martians are never seen aiming their guns in the air. (00:36:10)

Continuity mistake: When Land is presenting to the investors during the invasion, a saucer flies behind him just as he puts on his hat. In the next shot, that saucer is gone, though there are others still in the background. It didn't move quickly enough to get offscreen in that time. (01:11:45)

Continuity mistake: In the first stage of Broken Sword and Flying Snow's assault on the palace one soldier's shield is cut vertically by Broken Sword, then in the next shot the same soldier's restored shield is cut horizontally by Flying Snow. (01:09:05)

Continuity mistake: As Broken Sword and Flying Snow ascend the stairs to the palace, watching in slow motion proves that none of their blows actually land and none of the soldiers who fall down "dead" are wounded in any way. (01:09:45)

Continuity mistake: Before one of Nameless' fights with Flying Snow, Nameless sheathes his sword and asks the army officer not to arrest her until their business is done. As the army backs away Nameless' sword is out and ready, and in the next shot he unsheathes it. (00:49:10)
