The Body - S5-E16

Question: Anyone who can read lips, can you tell me what the doctor really says near the end of the episode, when Buffy hears him say "I have to lie to make you feel better"?

Answer: Apparently the doctor is saying "I think we can be almost positive about that". Taken from http://www.buffyguide.com/episodes/body/bodysyn.shtml.

Question: If the killer was Adam wanting revenge for the dance, why did he kill Campbell and the other woman we see him drag through the door, who I assume is Dorothy's step mum? But if Dorothy is the killer, why kill her boyfriend?

Answer: I think that the corpse the killer was dragging when Ruthie saw him was the maid.

Alan Keddie

Maybe Adam made the thing stop working because wanted Dorothy to go down and fix it herself, so he could kill her, but instead obviously without knowing the killer was there Dorothy instead asked Campbell to do it because she didn't know how, or she just simply didn't want to. The killer/Adam might have already been down there waiting for Dorothy but instead seen Campbell but still decided to kill him just because.

Answer: Adam killed Campbell to make sure he wouldn't interfere with his plans. The presence of Campbell's head at the house probably means that he had come by to guard or to snoop. As for Dorothy's stepmother, Adam most likely killed her to both empty the house and to further frame Dorothy as the killer - after all, Adam has no (apparent) reason to kill her, but Dorothy does.

Adam didn't kill her step-mom. That was the maid he was dragging up the stairs. Campbell was killed in the basement when he went to relight the pilot light. The head that Kate found was the detectives head who was coming to help them after telling them they had released the man they thought was the killer.

Question: Slim visits a lawyer to seek advice. How did Slim find out about the lawyer in the first place?

Answer: She asked a waitress at the diner she was at in the previous scene.

Slim did not ask the waitress. She overheard another person saying the name of the waitress, Millie, and she pretended that Millie had told her about the lawyer. She thought the lawyer might take her more seriously if she pretended to know a local person.

Question: I've been reading a lot of spoilers of what will be in the Special Edition release. However one thing from the theatrical trailer which I've found nothing about is the shot of Pippin holding a weeping Merry. I was hoping SE spoilers would help me figure out where this shot belongs but I've had no luck. At first I thought it was Pelennor, but since Pippin is wearing his helmet it can't be then. Then I thought it was Cornmallen after the Ring has been destroyed and they seem to think Frodo is dead, but that doesn't add up either since people are fighting behind them. Does anyone know where this shot is from? I really want to know, I love this shot since it's a reverse from the shot in FotR where Merry held a weeping Pippin.

Answer: I've been through the theatrical trailers for this film, but I can't actually find the shot you're referring to. Logically, though, it has to either be at the Pelennor Fields or at the Morannon. If there are people visible fighting behind them, that seems to rule out the Pelennor Fields, as Merry and Pippin aren't reunited until some time after the fighting has ended, so the battle at the Black Gate seems like the only option. The flow of events there will change in the Extended Edition - the Mouth of Sauron sequence will be going in there, for example - so the reason for continued fighting in the shot may become clear.

Answer: It's "Song of Hiawatha", Chapter II - The Four Winds, almost to the end, starting with "In his life he had one shadow..."

Question: In the scene when Lucy Liu is in the trailer and it gets shot up, she looks at her dessert, it goes flat, and then she says "Murphy O'Meyer. That does it." Who is Murphy O'Meyer?

Answer: Murphy O'Meyer is a phrase used instead of cursing (like when someone says "fudge" or "sugar" in place of swearing) Also the phrase was used in the TV show in the episode Three Angels for Charlie.

Question: On the DVD, for 2 frames at 0:17:42, I see the number "506" go across the screen, from right to left, Trinity's arm then the guy's back. Does anyone else have that, or is it my copy?

Answer: I'd say that it is. I went through the scene six times, didn't see it.

Answer: I'm sure I've read somewhere that DVDs have numbers onscreen for a frame every so often - for either copyright or other protection purposes. Now can't find a relevant link, but that might be something to do with it.

Jon Sandys

Question: When we first see Darryl Hannah in the hospital, she is whistling the theme tune from the movie Twisted Nerve. Does anyone know if there are any links between these two movies or was it just a random choice?

Answer: It's an homage to the 1968 movie. In the movie Susan becomes the target of George after she distances herself from him. Like the Bride and Bill.

Question: If the reason that Evan is blacking out is because he's returning to the past and he returns to the school room the day that he draws the picture to get the stigmata, Why does he draw the picture when he hasn't killed the inmates yet?

Roblyn Chong

Chosen answer: Because that what he was planning to do.

Question: Did anyone else see the reflection of an alien's face in the window of the pickup truck as Dreyfus puts up a map against the window right before all the electrical stuff goes out in the car?

KINGOFNY

Chosen answer: I own the original (not special edition) DVD and I can always freeze the film and point out to people where the alien is and they see it too, but I can never see it when it's on TV or on my friends VHS copy, maybe it's just a 'gift' for the DVD owners?

Question: After Peter saves the little girl from the fire he hands her to her parents and they say her name. 1)What was her name? 2)Does she become an important part of the Spidey/Marvel universe?

Answer: ##Her parents didn't actually say her name, they spoke in mandarin in which they said "My child" Also I don't think the little girl will become an important character.

Question: Does anyone know where I can find images of the art displayed in Monica's apartment, in particular, the art in her bedroom?

Answer: You can buy them at http://www.shoptvweb.com/product/696.php.

Question: How on earth did Uma Thurman survive after being shot in the chest by a shot gun? Even if she didn't die, she would have been in a very bad shape but she makes a miraculous recovery. I thought this would have been the most obvious mistake in the film but nobody even mentioned this. Is there a factor which i don't know about? If so, could someone please explain this to me?

Answer: This 'mistake' has been mentioned, and corrected, many times. The shot gun was loaded with rock salt - Budd says so on at least one occasion; so it stings a lot, and winds her, but does no lasting damage.

Question: I have watched both endings to this movie and I love the director's cut much better...BUT, I don't understand somethings about the alternate ending. When Evan is killing himself in his Mother's stomach, his Mom says "for you I was pregnant THREE times" Is this a mistake? After Evan and his Mom went to the physic she told him that she had been pregnant TWO times before him and that they were still births. Also what confused me was that they flashed forward to show that his Mom had a child with his Dad and what looked like to be a little girl...so, does the cycle start all over again? and is that why she said THREE times instead of TWO?

Answer: The cycle will not start again, because the father of the little girl is not Evan's father.

Answer: This is already dealt with in corrected mistakes, but, we are being shown what happens after Evan has killed himself. We hear his mother tell her new daughter that she had three stillbirths (Evan being the third). And the cycle will not continue because only the males were affected (Evan's father and grandfather before him).

Nick N.

Righteously explained. However you should add that Evan's mom married to a new husband that's why the trait was ended.

Answer: When we see the kids being brought to the house with the "Welcome Kids" lettering draped over the front door, that is when Kaitlin and brother Tommy decide to move in with their Mom and away from their pervert Dad. They do this because there was no Evan for Kaitlin to want to stay with her father to be near. I had to watch that scene several times to get that. Everything we see after Evan "thinks" his way back in time to his mother's womb is what happened because Evan never was.

Answer: At the end of the director's cut with the mother on the hospital bed there is a very short baby cry. Is has been said that Evan killed himself in the womb but why the short baby cry that makes it seem that he lived but they just didn't show him.

Answer: He says something about her earlier that was insulting even though she wasn't there. She says something along the lines of "having a feeling she should kick his butt". Later she shows up to kick his butt, though we don't find out how she knows for sure. It's a joke based on the "feeling" you get sometimes when you know someone is thinking/talking about you.

Question: When Myers is meeting the "family", was the mistake that Hellboy's "dad" made about Hitler's death deliberate, or was he just testing Myers?

Answer: It was the truth (in that movie). Hitler died much later and the BPRD kept it secret from the rest of the world. It's a part of the "secret organization that keeps things from the world for it's own good" subplot.

Grumpy Scot

Question: In the end of the movie, Jay asks who this person (God) is. Metatron replies that the answer you seek lies within my companion's eyes. I assume this is something about God, but what exactly does he mean there?

Answer: Jay looked in her eyes, got his answer, saw God and fainted as it was more than his stoner mind could handle.

Grumpy Scot

Answer: He likes to blame non-existant pygmies for bad things that happen.

Question: Bond is very picky about having a martinti, shaken not stirred. If he drank a martini that was stirred, not shaken, would he be able to tell the difference?

Answer: Actually, yes, he would. The key to a vodka martini, Bond's preferred tipple, is that it should be served ice-cold. By shaking the drink, the ice cubes have a better chance to swish around the whole drink than they would if it was only stirred. It apparently also has the effect of dispersing the ingredients better, giving a different taste to the drink. In the spirit of scientific experimentation, some friends and I tried the drink both ways in a blind taste test a while back - it makes a surprising difference.

Tailkinker

If you shake it, it turns cloudy.

Answer: Shaking also causes more melting of the ice resulting in a milder, if watered down, taste suited to Bond's sophisticated palate.

Answer: We tried that as well on several times and on many various evenings. There is a serious difference.

Question: The rich guy was found dead. I don't quite understand his involvement, did he order the attack on Spooner? And I also don't get his wound around the neck, for a second I thought he was a robot, since it was a little odd and there was no blood.

Kirill Ostapenko

Chosen answer: Just like the earlier murder, this one was also caused by VIKI and the NS-5s under her control (they also attacked Spooner). He tried to protect the company and its profits by preventing any information about potentially unreliable robots from dissemination, not knowing the depth of the problem. VIKI killed him when she no longer needed his protection. The wound on his neck was from his throat being crushed by an NS-5, hence the fingerprints.
