Question: What was Dirty Steve's horse's name? Was he calling it Dog because that's its name or because he was high on peyote?

Answer: When Billy shoots McCloskey, and they are all skinning out. Steve says real quietly "Common Dog."

Answer: His horse was called dog, there are other scenes in the movie when he talks to his horse, but otherwise, he seems like the sort of guy to do it.

Answer: Most likely it was the horse's name. Dirty Steve just seemed like the kind of guy who would name a horse "Dog."

Answer: If referring to the blonde in the first movie, that was Elisabeth Shue, not Kristy Swanson.

Okay my mistake but did they decline returning or what?

Rob245

Answer: Part II was mainly focused on the storyline in Okinawa. Miyagi speaks with Heller on the phone briefly (though she's not seen or heard) to say he will take care of Daniel on the trip. She was not essential to be in this film.

Answer: To add to the previous answer, Elisabeth Shue went back to Harvard to continue her studies which is why she doesn't appear in the sequel.

Answer: Ali was originally only supposed to have a very small role in Part 2. Elizabeth Shue declined to reprise the role because she was studying at Harvard at the time. I can't find any explanation online as to why Randee Heller was not in Part 2 and was barely in Part 3.

Answer: Like all studio executives they think mixing things up by bringing in new characters into different settings would keep the franchise fresh. Most of the sequels from the 1980's were given minor or major cast changes.

Answer: It wasn't exactly an ad-lib. While filming the scene, Isaac forgot what curse he was supposed to say, so it came out as the start of 'Avada Kedavra', the only one he could remember. It was decided to use that take in the movie. As I recall, in the book it was never specified exactly how Malfoy threatened Harry, but it was enough that Dobby used his elf magic to protect him.

raywest

In the book it states that Lucius raised his wand at Harry at which point Dobby steps in to protect him. So no, it isn't specified what incantation Lucius was going to use.

Ssiscool

Answer: None of the cast of The Lion Guard was cast in the film, so why would Oyelowo have been? Ejiofor was cast because, in the words of director Jon Favreau, he "is just a fantastic actor, who brings us a bit of the mid-Atlantic cadence and a new take on the character. He brings that feeling of a Shakespearean villain to bear because of his background as an actor. It's wonderful when you have somebody as experienced and seasoned as Chiwetel; he just breathes such wonderful life into this character."

Question: When Max met Flexi, Flexi tells his guys "if he messes up kill him". Apparently the last target wasn't killed and Flexi's guy recognized Max as Vincent, then why didn't his guys kill him?

Answer: Vincent killed Felix's guys during the club shooting scene. One of them even had his red dot sight on Max before Vincent gunned him down.

Invader_Gir

Question: What kind of gun does Vincent use on his first two targets? There are no gunshots heard before the guy falls on Max's taxi. Did he use the Ruger MK II used later on in the Jazz Club?

Answer: Per IMFDB, he uses a Heckler and Koch USP in .45 caliber.

Invader_Gir

Answer: It was a threat to Mowgli, hoping to lure him back in grief and to save the younger wolves from the same fate.

Answer: Shere Khan was angry that Akela would not turn over Mowgli to him. It was retaliation.

Question: Can someone translate the French from the bar scene with Sophie? I caught a bit with the "together" near the end. Practicing French together? (01:11:00)

Answer: "You speak French?" "Yes." "Me, I speak a little French." "I lived in Paris for a year." "Paris! It's the city of light, is it not?" "Yes!" "And of love! It's good to speak French, because I haven't had the chance to practice speaking it much." "If you'd like, we can practice many things together." "Y-yes? Goodbye, remember my name is Adam Webber!" "Goodbye!"

The Girl in the Mask - S4-E23

Question: When Doctor Brennan is examining the victim's skull, she states that a "straight suture across the palatine bone" indicates that the victim was a native Japanese speaker. I've studied linguistics, but I've never heard of a person's native language actually affecting their anatomy. So, for example: would a person of Japanese heritage who was born and raised in the US and spoke only English be distinguishable from a person who grew up in Japan and spoke only Japanese, purely by their palatine bones? (00:06:10)

tinsmith

Answer: Since the palatine bone is a bone that helps form the mouth it has a lot to do with speaking. The shape of it differs a lot depending on your ethnic background. I would guess that they, in the show, meant that the person's bone tells that they were Japanese and that it was "made for the purpose of speaking Japanese." That's what I'd assume anyway. I've studied molecular biology though, so I'm not an expert on bones.

Question: What was the point of court martialling Doss? They said he couldn't go to war if he didn't use a gun, and they gave him the option to quit. So why wouldn't they just kick him out?

MikeH

Answer: Doss faced a court-martial because he refused the direct order of handling a rifle from camp commander Colonel Sangston. If the Army simply kicked him out, it could inspire other men to follow in his footsteps and refuse to carry a rifle. While Doss could not live with that shame, it can be assumed many others would not have that same problem.

Invader_Gir

Answer: It's Finnish. They say "Lähetätkö helikopterin?" which means "Will you send a helicopter?"

Question: When Shifu uses the Wuxi Finger Hold on Po, he says that the hardest part is cleaning up afterward. What exactly would there be to clean up? In the third Kung Fu Panda movie, when Po uses the Wuxi Finger hold on himself to send him and Kai to the spirit realm, they simply vanish from sight leaving nothing behind.

Answer: It's a funny but extreme threat. Po has heard of the move but doesn't know how it works yet, so Shifu is messing with him, to make him imagine the effects are hideously explosive.

Question: What's with the painting he takes out of the Challenger?

Answer: Van Gogh's "Bedroom in Arles".

Question: If the 3 visiting ghosts did it all in one night like Scrooge said on Christmas morning why did his dead partner tell him the first tomorrow when the bell tolls 1, the 2nd spirit at the same time the next night, and the 3rd the night following at 12?

Answer: This is really a question for the author, Charles Dickens, but I see it as Marley wanting to put fear and anticipation or suspense into Scrooge. It sets the stage for him to think he's going to have to deal with the horror of these ghosts visits for three nights in a row. But then, after the third ghost, he thinks he's missed Christmas, but in his mind, it was a miracle that the ghosts were able to do it all in one night, making the day even more special.

Question: If Jonathan and Mr. Ages were the only mice to survive the escape from NIMH, then where did all the other intelligent mice come from? Did one or both of them father a new generation of intelligent mice? Mrs. Brisby's marriage to Jonathan makes this all a little confusing.

Phaneron

Answer: Mrs. Brisby tells Nicodemus that Jonathan had been teaching her to read and her children as well. The children were better at reading that she was but that might be something that they inherited from their father. I think Mr. Ages was also able to read so that makes him intelligent as well. Remember the injections that the mice and rats were given also gave them the ability to read.

Answer: What other intelligent mice? I have watched the movie many times and I don't remember seeing any other intelligent mice. The mice that tried to escape with the rats were sucked down the ventilation shafts, so we don't know what happened to them.

Well, Mrs. Brisby for one, and by extension, her children. She wasn't part of the experiments at NIMH, so why does she possess human intelligence like Jonathan and Mr. Ages? Similarly, why do Jeremy, Auntie Shrew and the Great Owl have human-like intellect as well?

Phaneron

Answer: I always thought that Zeus did it.

Answer: I don't think she is aware that they travel to dragon land she just thinks that they are playing in their playroom the whole time.

If she was aware that they travel to dragon land, they'd probably lose her trust.

I think Emmy, and Max's mother is unaware of the fact that they travel dragon land I believe because Emmy, and max keep it a secret. After all It's unlikely that a mother would trust children at Emmy, and Max's ages to travel to a place like dragon land all by themselves.

Question: When Howard gets home late, he mentions to Liz that he got a speeding ticket. Since he was driving on the shoulder of the road, shouldn't he have got a ticket for that too?

Answer: The cop never states why he pulled Howard over, what he was charging him with or how many tickets he was issued. Howard just says, "I got a speeding ticket.' and holds up a folded piece of paper, so it's likely the ticket was for driving on the shoulder.

Question: How did Paxton know that "Edward-salad-hands" bad guy (who he follows off the train and kills in the toilets at the end) was part of the Elite Hunting club? As far as I can remember, the last time Paxton sees him is when he is talking to Josh in the bar. Not an obvious clue... Unless he murders him simply for eating his lunch without a knife and fork? Reasonable.

Answer: Just before Paxton is taken to be tortured, he witnesses the Dutch businessman working on Josh's corpse.

One Last Kiss - S4-E9

Question: Even after Jesse tells Carrie straightforward that he was engaged, why would she still insist that he keep the promise he made to her ten years prior? Anyone else would've simply put the past in the past and moved on, especially after learning that their former lover with whom they lost touch is about to marry another person (so as to not arouse any suspicions).

zredman

Answer: There's several people out there who would try to get their ex back before it's "too late" in a sense before they get married. This is often a plot line in movies for a reason. Doesn't mean it's right of course, but there are plenty of people out there who would attempt to coax an ex into breaking off an engagement for hopes of a second chance whether it's right or not.

Answer: I agree with the other response. I've heard of people trying to get an ex back, people wanting a friend to end a relationship/marriage and be with them instead, etc. Not everyone would "simply" move on.
