Question: Why does Biscuit try to run right before he's let out? Why does he say he can't go home to his mama?

Answer: Because he is gay. In the time this movie is set, being homosexual was not only an extreme moral and religious taboo, but it was illegal in most parts of the US. Biscuit is too ashamed of letting his mother find out about his relationship with Jangle Leg, so he runs, knowing the guards will shoot him dead.

roboc

Answer: It wasn't in the script for him the die - the actor who played Biscuit went into a interview and said that he improv that scene the letter he opened up was initially was an call log not an release paper and he stated if his character was going to die he wanted him to die by crossing the gun line.

Question: At the very beginning of the film, Adam was seen waking up in a bath full of water. How did he breathe when he was unconscious? If Adam hadn't woken up he would have drowned, but there would have been no way for Jigsaw to know exactly when Adam was going to wake up so that he could put him in the bath at the right time. Dr. Gordon's lack of hysteria suggests that he has been awake for some time, so wouldn't he have heard Jigsaw putting Adam in the bath and guessed where he was?

Answer: Jigsaw put Adam in there when everything else was set up, to revive him and get the game started. It is logical to assume that Jigsaw knew approximately how long Adam would be unconscious, and that the shock of cold water and drowning revived him quickly. True, Lawrence was probably awake at the time, but he would not hear much, other than the sounds of a body moving around, which he would later conclude had been Adam waking up and trying to move about.

Answer: What I don't understand is that Adam was already submerged when Amanda closed the door, hence he would have awoken probably only seconds later. but Dr Gordon tells Adam that he'd already been screaming for help and what not, so you'd assume he would have been awake at least a couple minutes before Adam, which would mean he would have been screaming for help whilst Amanda was still present which we know wasn't the case. Just makes no sense to me.

He wasn't submerged when Amanda closed the door. Go back and watch the flashback in "Saw III." He's still above water. He slowly slipped under over time.

Question: Where can one pick up the 2-disc Special Edition of Garfield: The Movie? I found a review here - http://dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=55382 - but it does not give info on how to order it. I cannot find it online or in stores. Is it exclusive to the UK? And if so, is there any way an American like me can still get it?

Answer: You can order it at http://www.cd-wow.com they ship for free worldwide. But it seems to be exclusive for region 2, so you should make sure that your DVD-player can play region 2 and your TV can handle PAL encoded movies before ordering it.

Answer: it is rumored that shannen, Alyssa, and Holly were paid from $30,000-$50,000 an episode for the first 3 seasons. It is also rumored that Alyssa was given up to $80,000 for the other seasons, and Holly was given $60,000. (Not confirmed. Got answers from http://members.aol.com/rexfelis3/faq/faqcast.htm).

Question: What are the lyrics and name of the song Willy sings during the creepy boat ride?

Answer: The song has no real name. It was a poem/song that Dahl put into the book durring the tunnel scene (Actually, they are the only song lyrics in the whole movie that actually came out of the book, I believe.) The words go like this: "There's no earthly way of knowing / Which direction we are going! / There's no knowing where we're rowing, / Or which way they river's flowing! / Is it raining? Is it snowing? / Is a hurricane a-blowing? / Bah! Not a speck of light is showing, / So the danger must be growing, / Are the fires of hell a-blowing? / Is the grizzly reaper mowing? / Yes! The danger must be growing, / For the rowers keep on rowing, / And they're certainly not showing / Any signs that they are slowing...

Season 1 generally

Question: Does the main twist at the end actually make any sense? Could Nina really have been working against Jack and is there any subtle evidence of this earlier on? It seemed to me like the ending was chosen because it was the most shocking, but the least logical. Some examples of Nina trying to hinder Jack or just acting suspiciously would be appreciated.

Answer: The producers actually decided on this twist half way through the season. I'm unsure about the upcoming season five, but in the past, the writing team have only written six or seven episodes at a time and then deciding where to go next whilst filming. An example of Nina acting suspiciously would be when she left Kim and Teri at the safehouse fairly soon before it was attacked. Although it seemed that she left due to Teri's realisation that it was Nina who was seeing Jack during their separation, this has been cited as a red herring - more likely is that she left them and told the bad guys where they were.

Question: I just wanted to know, in the prima dona song the lyrics say something like "a chorus girl who's gone and slept with her patron". Are they just making an assumption that they slept together or did they actually do it because in this point of the film she had only just come back from the phantom's lair and had only been in the same room as him in one scene.

Answer: They assume Christine spent the night with Raoul. After all, they'd left him in her dressing room right before she disappeared.

Question: Is it me or is there a reason why madame Giry has a french accent whereas her daughter Meg has an English one? Considering they live in France shouldn't Meg's accent have been french too?

Answer: Mme Giry's accent is not meant to be "French" per se. The various accents used in the movie can be thought of as reflecting of the various accents one would encounter in such a cosmopolitan place as a late-1800s Paris Opera house, with people coming from all over France (yes, there are various French accents like there are various English ones) and Europe. Mme Giry and Meg's accents being different only shows that Mme Giry didn't grown up in the same place where she raised Meg. The same thing happens nowadays with immigrants' families, where parents speak with a different accent than their children's.

Sereenie

Answer: Since there is suppose to be a curse of SNL, they are just joking that Horatio Sanz will be the next one to die, the reason they probably chose him is because two of the deceased were the overweight guys on the show, Belushi and Farley, so they are guessing that since Sanz is overweight he will be the one to die next.

Question: What were the characters pouring into their drinks, and what were they pouring it into. I'm American, so I've never heard the term "brown sauce" before. I couldn't tell if it was chocolate syrup or like a steak sauce, or if they were putting it in their tea or coffee.

Answer: There is a condiment used in the UK that is actually called "Brown Sauce" It is used by many instead of Ketchup. It is slightly spicy and very nice on a bacon sandwich. They put it in their coffee for some reason.

Question: If Maggie wanted to die, and her leg had to be amputated to save her life, why didn't she simply refuse to have the leg amputated?

Answer: As we can see, Maggie stays in the hospital for a very long time. When she got the infected bed sores, she had not yet made up her mind that she wanted to die, so she allowed the amputation. It is not until weeks or months later that she decides not to live like that.

Question: What type of Allied fighter destroyed the units vehicles? It doesn't look like any allied combat aircraft I've seen before.

AdmRose

Answer: It's a Yugoslav Soko 522 Ikarus.

Chosen answer: From the markings it looks like a P47 jug. Strange thing is it was equipped with rockets, which I have only seen outfitted on the P-38 lightning and the P-51 Mustang. Kelly's is a great movie but far from historically accurate. There is a country song Odd Ball Plays as the blow up the rail yard that not even close to having been released at the time.

Question: How many towers were in the valley? Only one is shown in a distant shot, but most scenes show it right up to, and overlooking, a thickly forested area. However, there is one view where the trees in the near background had bare, upright branches.

scwilliam

Chosen answer: There were two towers, one at the north end of the valley, and one at the south end.

Question: Who bought the guitar collection?

Answer: Neal, the musician ex-boyfriend, bought the collection. The guitars later showed up at the finale of the ballet program as a tribute to Molly.

Question: What was the point of the police officer being in a crash at the beginning of the film. I didn't really see the point of it as it didn't play any part in the storyline.

Answer: While it doesn't have anything to do with the overall plot, the crash shows just how much Matthew is afraid to do the wrong thing and perhaps how he overthinks things. As we know all he would be doing is missing a bit of school by getting in his car and driving from the school. The fact that Matthew is able to imagine an horrific crash of a security guard because of just skipping school shows how worried he is about doing the wrong thing.

Question: When Jerry reveals himself to be a vampire in Charlie's room (the pencil stabbing scene), Jerry flees when Charlie's mother is about to enter the room. Why exactly is Jerry afraid of Charlie's mother?

Japan-Games

Chosen answer: The mother is not a direct threat to Jerry. Jerry doesn't want anyone to know he is a vampire.

Question: Something I never completely understood about the ending. When we see senator Kelly on the TV at the end, we realize that it is actually mystique in disguise. But when the X-men told magneto that Kelly was dead.he didn't believe them. And since Kelly vaporized into water, there would be no body or any proof that he was dead. So wasn't mystique worried that she might come into contact with the real Kelly at some point?

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: You are working under the assumption that Mystique would not believe this either. However, with Magneto in prison and no sign of the senator she could happily take on his identity. Also, even if Kelly was alive, after she gave a press statement backing mutants, it would be unlikely that a politician would change his mind so suddenly again and he would therefore not come clean that it was not him.

Question: Just after Dumbledore announces the Triwizard Challenge, there's a short scene where Igor Karkaroff slips into the deserted Great Hall where the Goblet of Fire is kept. It wasn't Igor who put Harry's name in the goblet, and Viktor Krum submitted his own entry. Obviously the audience was being led to believe that Igor may have been involved in the plot against Harry (he wasn't), but what was the real reason he went in there?

raywest

Answer: It was Barty Crouch Jr. He used the polyjuice potion to disguise himself as Igor. I believe he did this because he was originally labelled as a Death Eater. As a result, Igor was put on trial and before he was sentenced, Igor gave the Ministry Barty Jr's name, so then he was sent to Azkaban. For revenge, Barty Jr used to potion to disguise himself as Igor so if he was caught messing with the goblet, he would be questioned, due to his past (seeing as what happens at the end). That way, Barty would be remained undetected and could carry on fleeing the Ministry.

I like this answer best. It makes sense.

lionhead

Chosen answer: There is no reason. In the books this scene does not occur, so the idea behind putting it into the film is purely to mislead the audience.

Scrappy

Answer: Because Igor wanted Viktor to get into the tournament so he put Viktor's name in again so he could raise his chances of getting picked.

Question: How come none of the ball players can go past the first base foul line?

Answer: If they go past that line they will no longer be able to play again. The field is their only place to exist in the afterlife (their heaven if you will). That line is the end of the field and they will not be able to return if they cross it.

Scrappy

So do the players not go after foul ball fly balls/pop ups along the first base side?

Answer: Earlier in the movie, when Annie asked Shoeless Joe if he liked to go inside the house, Joe is about to before he realises that he's about to walk past the first base line so he declines. Later, when Karen falls off the bleacher, Archie runs up to the first base line and stops for a second. As soon as Archie crosses the first base line, he turns back into "Moonlight" Graham and can never play baseball again.

Answer: It's not the foul line they can't cross. It's the outer threshold of the entire field.

Answer: Actually, when Terrence Mann first gets there, Shoeless Joe walks over to him by the bleachers, across the line. So apparently there are exceptions. That's where he gives the line about Ty Cobb.

Question: In one of the last scenes, when Kyle and her daughter hide in a little compartment and survive the explosion, somebody who answered another question in this page said it was the hold of the plane, but I thought it was the black box when I saw it. So which one was it? And is it possible for a person to fit in the black box of a plane?

Answer: No, it's not possible. The 'black box' (which actually isn't black, but is instead brightly coloured to make it easier to find) is a data recorder, packed with all the attendant electronics required for that task; it's far too small for anybody to fit into.
