Other mistake: Ghostface tries to kill Sidney by the front door of the sorority house, and the pendulum clock shows it's 12:10, which fits also the timeline with CiCi's murder. Running away from him though, Sid passes by a mantle in the party room that has a clock that strikes 10 to 7. (00:39:40)

Continuity mistake: When Sidney answers the phone at the sorority, look at her sheer top under the jacket; reaches almost the neck (you can backtrack the moment when it rose from its optimal fit; she put the jacket in the same take and that ended up pulling the underneath garment a bit). Plot hole: Kindaichi's explanation of the trick does not make sense; he says the culprit put the towels outside to freeze in the bin, but if they were frozen solid they would have been impossible to reshape easily and quickly, and if they were already in the shape they wanted, that would have been just too big for the bin to contain. The newspaper is called "Global Times", but it's not supposed to be the real life one, which is a Chinese newspaper (albeit with an english edition); the logo is different. However, for being a Western-style newspaper (which is what Kindaichi calls Akechi out for), its front page is positioned wrong, like a Japanese newspaper.
