Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Wave Goodbye - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: Magnum is lying on the grass with his towel before Higgins and the lads arrive. The light is different in the two main angles used, and the towel is also placed differently, as you can tell by the position of the tag, closer to his elbow, or further away. (00:05:20)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Wave Goodbye - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: When Kacy is kissing Beardy McBeardo on the beach, her hand goes from under his arm to above it when he makes the gesture in both shots to toss her shoes in the sand. (00:04:45)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Wave Goodbye - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: When Kacy emerges from the waves at the beginning of the episode, she is carrying on the beach a board with a red lightning bolt artwork. Both sides of the board were visible when she was surfing in the previous sequence, and the pattern matches neither. (00:01:45)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Wave Goodbye - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: The bearded guy sits with Kacy at the surfer's bar; in the first shot with him seated, the cigarette has a noticeable rather long patch of ash, which in the rest of the scene is much shorter - with the cigarette being of the same length, too. (00:03:55)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Wave Goodbye - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: The tied shirt at the neck of the blonde kid at the beginning of the episode changes position in between shots, in particular when he watches the girl leave. (00:02:55)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Wave Goodbye - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: When the girl in red gives back the towel to the kid with a "Thank you", the woman sitting in the sand in the background goes from both arms behind her, to her hand in her hair. (00:02:50)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Tropical Madness - S2-E6

Other mistake: Magnum messes up his clothes at the gas station, all covered in oil, and uses them to clean the windshield. Still, when the snotty Brit girl arrives, he recovers them from the passenger seat. That would have royally messed up the interiors, and Higgins right there would have freaked out, but neither happens. (00:11:00)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Tropical Madness - S2-E6

Stupidity: The elaborate plan of the bad guy obviously involves driving Magnum increasingly crazy and create a rift between Higgins and him, but practically all the most damning episodes are outside the bad guy's control, and all the steps he takes are actually harmful towards him should have Magnum been in any way competent at his job. He couldn't have predicted that Magnum would paint the whole episode under the ridiculous light of "sumo wrestler and midget" instead of "big guy and small guy", he couldn't have predicted he'd stain himself, he'd try and force himself upon the girl, he wouldn't check the girl's background.

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Tropical Madness - S2-E6

Stupidity: For the ending to happen, TC must have had his chopper sitting by if not landed directly in the estate, without Higgins saying a thing about it, wondering what was it doing there, etc. He came by van.

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Tropical Madness - S2-E6

Stupidity: Higgins believes TC's story about leaning on the gate and causing sparks, but it's barely 20 seconds between the moment the lights go off and when he shows up; in 20 seconds he couldn't be from the gate of the five acres estate to the mansion's door if he ran to it, surely not in a casual night saunter. Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Tropical Madness - S2-E6

Revealing mistake: Magnum finds inside of the mysterious woman's villa a folder about Higgins. On the right side, there is some insurance document stuff that is pure filler. On the left side (but that one fades fast so you may need to pause for that) you can see that truly she has him scouted thoroughly, because it contains information about not just Higgins, but...John Hillerman and his acting career. Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Tropical Madness - S2-E6

Other mistake: At the appointment / trap at the abandoned shrine, Magnum hears a bell toll. He turn around, and it's clear that someone rang the bell pushing the log - it is still moving, it's not an automated system and there's no wind. but since the plot does not involve it, he just goes on like nothing happened. For all he knew, it could have been exactly where his supposed client or informant wanted him to go. (00:18:00)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Tropical Madness - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: When Magnum is fighting the one yo-yo and a half at the gas station, the big one grabs him in a bearhug. Magnum's shirt is down straight, but in the closer view his shirt is caught up in the clasped hands of the giant and is raised halfway up his back. (00:09:25)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Tropical Madness - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: When Magnum, holding his pants just with his hands, screams that "YES" he and the well-bred lady did indeed meet, she is holding her hat in a different way between shots; the bow on the hat is up in the first shot, at 6 o'clock in the next. (00:11:15)

Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Tropical Madness - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: Continuity issues happen once Magnum gets back to the table with his buddies, discussing how hard he had been blown off. TC's financial newspaper is folded differently and is still or windblown depending on the shot. Easiest transition to pick the mistake from happens when TC reaches for the money for bet; the wind lifts the page, which is perfectly flat an instant later. (00:06:00)
