One of those pages is written in Italian, but it's obviously machine-translated and/or not supervised by anyone speaking the language, since it contains multiple mistakes (including also an edit flub with the picture of the brothers on top of an article about medusae). Looking at the prop, it is instantly suspicious because Callahan's name is all over it like he's a celebrity, and in fact, the article on it is nothing but a copy and paste of Timothy Egan's "Defiantly incorrect" article from The New Yorker celebrating John Callahan's talents in 1992. Factual error: John Callahan is still a struggling cartoonist who has not even gotten his first gig when he shows to a woman at the library two sketches, the second being a joke about Starbucks opening a new coffee store in someone's rear end. Callahan shows the first issue of the Portland student gazette to a policeman a few scenes later and it is dated 1978, Back then Starbucks hadn't even expanded outside of Seattle yet, it will begin only a decade later. Continuity mistake: John wakes up in a hospital bed, with a doctor talking to him in a rather aloof tone. The stethoscope around Doctor Mirione's neck changes position every time the angles switch; the bell is either at his collar or all the way down to his coat's pocket. (00:25:00)

Revealing mistake: When Joseph goes to pick up the prisoner, there's a close-up of the paperwork; the prop is something recycled, or perhaps a real prison movement slip with Alex Veadov's picture stapled on, because the character's name is Vadim Nezhinski, a white Russian, but the documents say "Anderson, Robert", with a B (Black) for race. Continuity mistake: Vadim Nezhinski is asking Bobby to help him with the drugs, and tells him that they are gonna 'fix' all the cops that get in their way. Behind Joaquin Phoenix you can see the same waitress walk towards a door twice, the second time in particular the aisle was shown in the reverse shot a moment before, she is appearing out of nowhere. Continuity mistake: There's a close-up of the Russian that is bleeding on the precinct floor; notice his switchblade is on the floor really close to the pool of blood. Mark Wahlberg arrives a few seconds later, and the blade is at greater distance, and the bloodstain around the person's arm is slightly smaller. (00:27:40)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, Bobby finds a bit of a messy situation by the bar, when a scuffle ensues as drunk patrons try to jump on the counter to join two topless chicks. During the scene, Jumbo holds his plastic cup high up with the arm stretched, or lower, and the distance between him and the scared guy with the white jacket changes. (00:05:10)

Character mistake: At the beginning of the movie you can read the rules of the premises, in particular rule number 3 says; "No guns or any type of weapon permitted through the gates." However, the Wolf King's cronies dump their guns before the gate even when they were never supposed to be able to come in (so does Burke at the beginning, but he was trying to be admitted in). Trivia: Besides a passing reference to 'the wall' to Mexico, there's a more subtle reference to a certain US President in the brand of the generator activated 20 minutes in and at the end of the movie; it's "ковфефе", which is a possible transliteration in Cyrillic of the infamous Trumpian typo "covfefe." Continuity mistake: Nice draws a line in the asphalt of the secret passage (cool idea, although there's no way that the bad guys can actually see that especially at a distance!). In the first overhead shot, there's a gap in the line. When the line is shown again next with the first baddie croaking before it, the line has already changed. (01:15:45)

Continuity mistake: When Bautista confronts the thugs still to the other side of the gate saying "Visiting hours are NEVER!", Crosby is holding two consecutive horizontal bars in one shot, two with one bar apart in the next. (01:15:30)

Continuity mistake: Nice's hands invert position (left up, right up) when she is hugging/supporting Waikiki after he jammed the printer. A moment later she supports him with her left hand on his bicep, but it is gone in the reverse shot. (01:12:25)

Plot hole: Waikiki is not supposed to know who 'Niagara' is and most importantly, he is supposed to think that the Wolfking and his men are there for him and Honolulu.
