Simon's Quest

Simon's Quest mistake picture

Other mistake: Every time you retrieve a part of Dracula, the message on screen misspells the word "Possess", giving you messages such as "you now prossess Dracula's rib."

Ruddy Gore - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: Miss Fisher serves a dumpling to Dot and is complimented by Lin about her dexterity with chopsticks, which she is holding in two different ways between shots. Not just that, but when she asks about "the skirmish" a few moments later, the chopsticks become a cup. (00:13:00)

Ruddy Gore - S1-E6

Character mistake: The general idea in the first part of the scene with Dot and Miss Fisher at the balcony would be that she is so flustered by the handsome actor, she was wearing her binoculars backwards. But Ashleigh Cummings is in fact at first looking through the binoculars the proper way, then turns them around, and puts them the wrong way. (00:05:00)

Pain & Gain (2013)

Factual error: Early in the movie, Daniel's boss "starts reading Fortune Magazine" thanks to the new success of the gym. We are supposed to still be in the late '94 phase of the events (before Christmas, when he gets promoted) but the issue John is reading with Bob Eiger on the cover ("Disney's Epic Year") is the April 17, 1995 one. Pain & Gain (2013)

Continuity mistake: Tony Shalhoub at the beginning of the movie sits at the bench saying that he does not like weights "because they're heavy." This takes place between 2 shots: in the second one the guy in the background wearing black tank and light pants, exercising with a red ball, suddenly is standing closer to the women at the machine, just so he can get in frame. Pain & Gain (2013)

Factual error: On the phone with the private detective, Tony Shalhoub snarls "Everything's old in this freakin' hospital", which is ironic considering just by his bed there's a compact and very modern looking LCD monitor, out of place in a dingy hospital facility in 1995. (01:01:30)

Other mistake: Principal Dwight and Vice principal Stricker are fanatics of the rules and try to enforce them at all times with no mercy. However, when we can peek at the rulebook in Rafe's transcript, rule 52 says "only white, grey, khaki and navy", which if true would outlaw practically half of the kids we see at school wearing pink or yellow (yet they don't get scolded). (00:32:05)

Plot hole: Rafe is not a supernatural being, and besides not suffering any fatigue at all missing his sleep to do his pranks, some are outright impossible to execute and perform overnight for a person of his age (most likely for an adult in their prime too). Covering the entire hall and corridors, plus the principal's office, with post-it stickers requires a ridiculous amount of stickers to begin with, and arranging them creatively covering the whole walls, floor to ceiling, so that they create drawings, is an insane concept. Even more insane when it's the opening prank, anything he does later in the movie including the big movie finale requires less labor and time than his first act did.

Other mistake: When Rafe arrives at the new school, principal Dwight has his arms full of items he confiscated when the morning has not even started yet, very specific and obvious rule-breakers like a skate, 2 footballs and a basketball. So did some dudes just start playing ball and shooting hoops in front of the principal at 8 am in the middle of the street? Who are those rebels? There's no trace of rule defiance early in the movie. Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the principal's lecture on rule number 1, down the street next to the bus you can see a boy with a flashy orange raincoat in the distance. Then he's on top of the school steps as the angle changes, mid-sentence when Dwight goes "You need to respect me." (00:07:50)

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Rafe has just met the bumbling fool that is his principal: as Leo sneaks out of the building to meet them, behind Rafe a girl wearing white and pink is walking past them and getting into school. Several seconds later as the principal has already begun lecturing Rafe, the camera is back on him and the same girl is again walking behind him and getting to school. (00:07:30)

Continuity mistake: When Georgia brings the car to the front door on the first day, multiple continuity issues can be found (the car seems to go much further than it should, her hands get on and off the wheel), the most notable one being her braid that keeps switching between being in front or behind the right shoulder. Expelled (2014)

Revealing mistake: When Danny is hacking Twitter through brute force, the code executed on screen is not at all a hacking tool, but simply prints jibberish - actually I googled some lines I could easily pick up without pausing, and they were from a past year finalist of the The International Obfuscated C Code Contest. Entirely harmless easter eggs, certainly not hacking or cracking material. (00:10:35)

Expelled (2014)

Revealing mistake: As Felix recollects the time when he and Vanessa were dating, he mentions it happened in their freshman year. The Roxy tweet that broke them up is dated 12 Nov 2014. When they show Felix's report card, it says it's for the 2014-2015 year, so it would merely be a couple months before. (00:09:10 - 00:15:40)

Expelled (2014)

Revealing mistake: When Felix talks breaking the fourth wall about the mysterious, vicious "Roxy", he shows her twitter page. The latest tweet is dated Mar 10. Since the school at that moment still has to issue the report cards for the first semester, it seems a little too far ahead in time. (00:08:40)

Raisins and Almonds - S1-E5

Plot hole: It turns out in the climax of the episode that there are no bullets left in the gun and Miss Fisher knew it. That would mean then that she deliberately wasted minutes with Simon bleeding out on the floor when Chaim was holding them at gunpoint with an empty revolver, for no discernible purpose.

Sammo

Raisins and Almonds - S1-E5

Stupidity: Miss Fisher is a cunning sleuth and avid reader, and has to search for a hidden message. Yet she does not recognize one of the most common tropes (yes, back in the 20s already, with illustrious writers as Dumas and Poe using it!) in fiction, aka the "invisible ink", even with a gigantic clue about it. She is uncharacteristically dense in this occasion.

Raisins and Almonds - S1-E5

Factual error: Looking at the lending list card, we see that Saul returned the book on the 26th of August 1928, a Sunday (when we assume the privately owned store would be closed), and more importantly, that his last name changed: from Saul Michaels as he was mentioned in conversation, to Saul Abrahams as it is written on the card. (00:13:05)

The Green Mill Murder - S1-E3

Factual error: At the police station, as Miss Fisher hands the food basket to Jack to walk away with Dot, a wall calendar indicating the episode as taking place on August 11, Thursday. The established year is 1928, so it should be a Saturday. (00:22:30)
