Stupidity: Kindaichi's logic as usual proves to be right, however, the theater is surrounded by a pond, not the ocean. The investigation proceeds assuming that the killer who performed a meticulously premeditated murder with great knowledge of technology and conjuring, could never go past a bit of water. Likewise, they say "nobody left their seats since the lights go off", as a certainty, but watching the scene and how it unfolds, it's simply an assumption the plot needs.

Continuity mistake: In the final part of the Living Marionette act, the bicycle and the ball are on stage, or not, randomly in different shots. (00:11:00)

Stupidity: Kindaichi and the others are called up by Satomi, who is one of the performers, so they can be in attendance for the show. They don't get changed, but somehow they are so late for the show that they are the last people to arrive, and the show is already ongoing and displaying the most famous act. If Satomi warned them late, makes no sense that he wouldn't be in the theater to begin with.

Continuity mistake: External shot of the "Station Hotel"; there's the sign with glowing letters, and then a smaller one above the front door. The two words are written on separate lines, but the establishing shot of the hotel at the end of the previous episode showed "Station Hotel" written on a single line. (00:03:10)

Continuity mistake: Kindaichi is sitting on the bed while Kenmochi gives the estimated time of death. He's wearing just his shirt, pink, but a couple of shots later he is sitting wearing his black jacket too. (00:02:40)

Continuity mistake: The salad explodes and everyone is pretty rattled by this baffling predicament. Kindaichi is holding the phone with his index fingers outstretched; in the immediate close-up, he's clutching it with all fingers, and in the one next all of a sudden it's against his ear while the bomber is talking continuously. Character mistake: When the boss of the magical troupe greets the passengers, the clock behind him shows it's 9:40. Noble later complains that he's gone for over an hour, but when he performs the stripping trick on Miyuki, the clock shows it's a couple minutes past 10, so not even half an hour passed. (00:07:40)

Continuity mistake: When Noble asks Miyuki to be his assistant, there is a person with yellow clothes behind her. Their arm is down, straight. In the next shot, the person doesn't move, but when Miyuki changes position she reveals behind her the arm of the person, now bent. (00:09:30)

Continuity mistake: Throughout the four parter, in a variety of shots (it would be redundant to list them all), the collar of Akechi's orange shirt, which he wears over the brown jacket, disappears, showing just the brown jacket even when the detail of the collar would be visible - and sometimes it is even drawn but colored over wrong.
