General questions

I'm trying to help a friend of mine identify a movie he's been trying to find for years. We were talking about martial arts films and he mentioned there's one he wishes he could remember and has tried researching it, but hasn't been able to find it. He doesn't remember the title or who plays in it. He thinks he saw it when he was around 11 years old, so this would have probably been a movie from the mid to late 90's, possibly early 00's. In the film these guys has these magical swords with special abilities and the swords had names. He said that in the film their master kills one of them and the other guy comes back and defeats his master at the end while having both of the swords. I thought maybe he was referring to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon or something with the mystical swords, but he said it isn't that. Does anybody know what movie this is he's looking for?

Superman (1941)

The Mad Scientist - S1-E1

Plot hole: The Mad Scientist's lair is on the top of a tall pointy mountain with no real flat areas. But Lois is somehow able to land her 1930's-1940's era propeller plane on the top of this mountain with no runways or flats for her to come to a stop on from flying. Which is physically impossible. Superman (1941)

The Mad Scientist - S1-E1

Trivia: The scene where Lois takes off out of Perry's office for her scoop has been censored and cut down for most modern releases of this series. In the original airing, when Clark turns to Perry he says, "Chief don't you think that's a dangerous mission for a woman?" In versions you find to day, even the DVD, this has been cut down so that he just says "Chief don't you think that's a dangerous mission?" with a very faint F sound after where they cut it off and quickly fade the scene to black. Question: If Overgirl is Supergirl from Earth X, and Supergirl gets her powers the same way that Superman does, from sunlight, then how is The Ray, whose powers are based on using yellow light, able to hurt her with his powers? Wouldn't his blasts help her?

Quantom X

Answer: My understanding is the Ray uses pure light for his powers while Superman and Supergirl get their power from the solar energy of a yellow sun, not yellow light.

Bishop73

I see. But if it was from pure light, wouldn't his powers have a white glow and not a yellow glow?

Quantom X

Most likely just a styling choice. I just know the basics details of his powers and not sure why it comes out yellow (or if it's even stated.) Perhaps for the the same reason the sun appears yellow, short wavelength light becomes scattered.

Continuity mistake: After righting for a bit, Overgirl and The Ray land on a street and she asks him why is he fighting for a world that's not his. In the wide shot, he is standing so his whole body is facing towards her. When it cuts to a close up, he's suddenly turned to the side with his head looking at her. (01:05:00)

Continuity mistake: As Ray is giving a speech to the Resistance members on Earth X, one blond haired soldier is looking up at him and then smiles. It then cuts to a view of a different soldier with the blond guy still in the frame and instantly he is no longer smiling. (01:00:20)

Continuity mistake: Ray runs into his room to find Overgirl holding Red Tornado's cortex in her hand. A couple of shots later after she taunts him, she has her hands down at her sides with her fists balled and the cortex is missing. Only to appear in her hand again a couple of shots later for Ray to take. Her hand is too small, and the cortex too large for her to have simply just concealed it in her fist in the shot where it's missing. (00:50:40)

Continuity mistake: In the city as the heroes are fighting a giant robot, The Ray leads the robot into Green Arrow's web of beam arrows and it gets stuck, allowing them to attack it. The robot is stuck facing the beam web with its back clear. When The Ray blasts it hard from above and the robot falls backwards, the beams are suddenly on its back. (00:44:40)

Other mistake: After Ray patches up his shoulder from being shot, he heads out answering a call from Jacob. As he's talking he gets hit in the neck by a sleep dart and his phone is shown. The screen still shows an incoming call, rather than one in progress. (00:38:20)
