Blade Runner (1982)

Question: As Deckard is giving Rachel the VK test, her eyes have the golden glow to them when he asks the second question about the boy with the butterfly jars. Why does he not catch right then that she's a replicant just by seeing her eyes glow?

Quantom X

Answer: The glowing eyes phenomenon was actually an effect added by Scott, who probably thought it would look cool. Obviously he didn't think it through because it would make detecting replicants very easy indeed, and would make the VK test redundant. I believe he has said in interviews that it is intended as a cinematic effect, and is not intended to be a characteristic of the actual characters. This is one of several mistakes that the director made in the film, and which have subsequently passed into the folklore of Blade Runner.

Chosen answer: Deckard already knew that Rachel was a replicant before starting the VK test (Tyrell told him); Rachel was a new model of replicant who could supposedly beat the VK test. Deckard just wanted to see if this was true.

Blade Runner (1982)

Question: When Bryant and Deckard are watching the tape of Leon's VK test, the screen displays the letters V.K. But below that it shows 96/W/9-3H. What does that mean?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: The tape was possibly numbered so the police know which tape is which. 96/W/9-3H is probably the number of Leon's VK test.

Blade Runner (1982)

Question: After the cop comes to take Deckard to see Captain Bryant, they get in a police car and the screen says Purge, as mentioned in a trivia entry, just before taking off. Why does it say purge before lifting off the ground?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: "Purge" is another word for "liftoff". It also means "to purge", as in to expel something, in this case the engine fuel necessary to raise the cop car into the air.

Batmobiles Racing - S1-E1

Revealing mistake: As the Batmobiles are supposedly drag racing at very high speeds down a road, some shots show a camera crew reflected in the fender of the 66 Batmobile, keeping up with the two super speeding cars, that are depicted to be drag racing at top speeds... In a pick up truck. (00:08:10)

A Bout with a Trout mistake picture

Continuity mistake: A full school day passes from when Lulu is first at school to get her fishing pole and to when she returns after awakening from being knocked out. It even looks darker from time passing. But the shadow of the tree is exactly the same, when the moving of the sun would have changed that. (00:01:55 - 00:07:10)

A Bout with a Trout mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Lulu lands on the book, before the drawing of a donkey attacks her, there is a wooden sign hanging that says school. The edges are quite jagged. After a bit of singing from the school house, another shot of the same sign shows it much less jagged. The style of the letters also change as well, and the metal part of the sign holding the sign to the post. (00:04:05 - 00:05:45)

Continuity mistake: Lulu gets out of bed and races to the bathroom to "Brush her teeth." She picks up a tube of toothpaste and a toothbrush, then proceeds to brush her reflection's teeth in the mirror. She does not set down the toothpaste, and when the angle changes as she washes her face, the toothpaste has vanished, not in her hand, not on the sink. (00:01:20)

A Bout with a Trout mistake picture

Continuity mistake: As the episode starts, Lulu is snoring in bed. The purple head board of her bed is in the light in such a way that it is diagonally lit up from the top left to bottom right. When the angle changes as she gets up, the lighting has flipped so the bottom part is lit rather than the top. There is also a window that suddenly appears in the wall by her bed that was not there in the previous shot. (00:01:05)

Batman vs. Wolverine - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: After Batman first attacks Wolverine and steps on his cigar, Wolverine shows his right fist to the camera and extends his claws, cutting through his glove from all three blades. But then after Wolverine kills Batman, he shows the same hand to the camera and extends just his middle blade to flip off Batman's corpse. But the glove is not cut where the other two blades previously came out. (00:03:10 - 00:04:25)

Batman vs. Wolverine - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: Batman tricks Wolverine into stabbing an electrical box, zapping him back into a wall. He is still out cold when he is shown again, and Wolverine's body is in a different position against the wall, and the hole he made changes. (00:03:55)

Darth Vader vs. Gandalf - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: After Gandalf turns himself into the image of Anakin, he uses a Force push against Vader. In the first shot, his arm is fully extended with hand open out. But it then cuts to a different angle and instantly his hand is half closed and arm already bent to come back. (00:06:25)

Batmobiles Racing - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: During the entire drag race, the '89 Batmobile is in the right lane, and the '66 is in the left lane. This formation is the same when they cross the finish line. But later when they are looking at the "Slo Mo" of the crossing of the finish line, the '66 is now in the right lane and the '89 in the left. (00:08:35)
