Dark Shadows (1966)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: The newly-cured Barnabas, wearing a red striped bathrobe, screams when Dr. Lang opens the drapes to let the sunlight in. When the same scene is recapped the next day, Barnabas is suddenly wearing a solid blue bathrobe.

Dark Shadows (1966)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: 1795: Ben, complaining that Angelique is always watching him, backs into a large, tall tree trunk in the cemetery. The "tree" wobbles and sways when he bumps it.

Dark Shadows (1966)

Show generally

Other mistake: 1967: Burke mangles his line to Vicky, and instead of telling her to get off her history kick, says, "I just think you should get off that hickory stick for a while."

Dark Shadows (1966)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: 1967: Barnabas selects a treasure from a jewelry chest while bad guy Jason spies on him through a window. Willie is supposed to put the chest away, but when Jason later breaks in to steal it, the chest is still sitting on the table in plain view, so Jason has to pretend not to notice it. The break-in scene is recapped the next day, only this time, the chest is no longer on the table.

Dark Shadows (1966)

Show generally

Visible crew/equipment: 1795: Angelique throws open a set of double doors to find Jeremiah's ghost in the hall. She cries out and steps back, and to the right of the screen, you can see a crew member's hand enter the shot to pull one of the doors open further.

Dark Shadows (1966)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: 1967: Barnabas and Vicky are talking in Collinwood's foyer when a great deal of noise starts interrupting the scene from backstage. You can hear coughing, several bumps and crashes, shouts, and finally, a fire extinguisher going off. Meanwhile, the distracted actors are completely blowing all their lines - but the unstoppable taping goes on.

Dark Shadows (1966)

Show generally

Visible crew/equipment: In the 1795 flashback, as Barnabas confronts Angelique beside his coffin, a crew member in a short-sleeved blue shirt is sitting to the right, and can be seen hastily getting up and moving out of the shot.

Blake's 7 (1978)

Headhunter - S4-E6

Continuity mistake: Muller and Vila have a brief struggle over the teleport console. When Muller grabs at the controls, Vila pulls his hand away, making the teleport lever break off and fall onto the console. It fixes itself again a short time later. (00:06:05)

Star Trek (1966)

The Alternative Factor - S1-E28

Continuity mistake: Both the positive and negative versions of Lazarus have a long mustache and a fairly full "waterfall" beard - until the scene in the briefing room, when inexplicably, the mustache and beard are both suddenly so thin they're barely visible. As soon as they beam down to the planet, however, the much thicker facial hair is restored. (00:23:00 - 00:24:30)

Star Trek (1966)

The Alternative Factor - S1-E28

Continuity mistake: Mad Lazarus has just put a black-and-white hatch cover over the stolen dilithium crystal in his time ship. It's in place when Kirk arrives to confront him. But a moment later, when Kirk leans in and is accidentally transported to the negative universe, the cover has disappeared. It's still missing when Kirk returns to push Lazarus through the portal. Trivia: Exteriors for Collinwood were shot at what was then known as "Seaview Terrace" in Newport, Rhode Island. Now known as the Carey Mansion, the building has recently been made accessible for group events, and now hosts an annual gathering of Dark Shadows fans.

Star Trek (1966)

Devil in the Dark - S1-E26

Deliberate mistake: Here, as in nearly every other ST episode featuring caves, caverns or mines, all the floors are perfectly flat and the lighting adequate-to-see-by or even brilliant. These configurations are easily found on soundstage sets - but not in nature. (00:16:30)

Star Trek (1966)

Court Martial - S1-E21

Continuity mistake: McCoy uses a "masking device" to block out the bridge personnel's heartbeats. When McCoy masks Spock's heartbeat, he holds the microphone, err, masking device over the wrong part of Spock's anatomy. We'd already established that Spock's heart wasn't in the same place as a human.

Star Trek (1966)

Charlie X - S1-E3

Other mistake: Spock and McCoy have a brief argument over whether Charlie could have survived on his own all those years. Because they're talking at the same time, Spock saying "Doctor" as McCoy says "Mr. Spock," the closed captioner apparently misunderstood McCoy's line. The caption has him calling Spock "Dr. Spock." Star Trek (1966)

Arena - S1-E19

Continuity mistake: During the attack on the outpost, as Spock arrives in his foxhole, Kirk puts down the box of ammunition and positions the grenade launcher. We cut to a higher angle as Spock scrambles around to the Captain's left, and Kirk is putting the box down and positioning the launcher all over again. As the action was supposedly continuous, there wasn't time for Kirk to pick the items up and set them down a second time. (00:08:40)

Star Trek (1966)

A Taste of Armageddon - S1-E24

Continuity mistake: Just after the ship is first attacked, Scotty tells McCoy, "We can't fire full phasers with our screens up." Say what? The Enterprise couldn't operate transporters with the shields up, but it fired its phasers, full or otherwise, with the screens up every time it went into battle, and always had. If they'd been forced to shut their shields down every time they fired, the Enterprise would have been history long before this. (00:23:30)

Forever Knight (1992)

Spin Doctor - S1-E15

Factual error: Nick tells Nat about his past life as an assistant professor in the U.S., and refers to himself as "a certain indigenous vampire." Nick wasn't indigenous (native) to either the US or Canada, where the show was set. He came from Brabant, now part of Belgium. They were probably trying for "itinerant" (wandering), which would accurately describe Nick's long life.

Blake's 7 (1978)

Shadow - S2-E2

Other mistake: On the flight deck, when Vila says he can't remember anything "between meeting Largo and waking up back on the ship," Bek, sitting behind him, starts his next line too early, stops and waits for Vila to finish, then says it again. (00:30:30)

Blake's 7 (1978)

Headhunter - S4-E6

Continuity mistake: The headless android falls into a pile of rubble after an explosion, getting up with its red, white & blue striped costume in smudgy tatters. A moment later, its outfit is mended and completely clean. Still later, when the android is walking outside, its costume is dirty and shredded again. (00:33:30 - 00:35:00)
