Shore Leave - S1-E16
Trivia: Because Theodore Sturgeon's original script for "Shore Leave" was so complex, many scenes were too expensive to film. Gene Roddenberry had to hastily rewrite many of these minutes before they were shot, resulting in some segments that were ad-libbed because the rewrites hadn't been completed. McCoy's "distracted" scene with Yeoman Barrows is one of these.

Trivia: This was David Niven's final film. He was so ill during production that his lines throughout most of the movie had to be overdubbed by impersonator Rich Little.

Revealing mistake: When McCoy is examining Charlie in sickbay, several shots of the diagnostic panel show a clear reflection of Charlie's upright profile. But Charlie isn't sitting up during the exam - he's lying flat on the table. The close-ups of the panel were shot while actor Robert Walker Jr. was either sitting or standing nearby. (00:04:10)

Trivia: The character of Jonathan is referred to several times in the film as a thug who "looks like Boris Karloff." This was an in-joke referring to the fact that Karloff played the role of Jonathan in the original Broadway production of Arsenic and Old Lace..

Trivia: The Patriot was one of several movies (including A Knight's Tale) in 2000 that became part of a major lawsuit against Sony. The studio had invented a fictitious film critic named David Manning, who naturally wrote glowing reviews of all its films. In 2005, the studio finally settled out of court and agreed to refund $5 to every theater goer who'd been duped by "Manning." How many ever took advantage of the offer was never disclosed.

Character mistake: The note Six hands the "access man" misspells the word "receipt" as "reciept." He's supposedly a "think tank" genius, so really should be able to spell better than that. (00:27:30)

Continuity mistake: "The Incomparable Connie Walker": When Dillon visits Mayor Walker's house, Walker's red carnation is on his left lapel. But one shot of him is, for some reason, reversed, causing the carnation to switch itself to his right lapel for a moment.

Factual error: The sea plane that lands to rescue Savage at the end is a type not built until after the war. And it's marked "U.S. Air Force," an entity that also didn't exist until after the war. During WWII, what later became the Air Force was known as the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Continuity mistake: Norman pours poison into the pitcher of iced tea. In the next shot, we see him carrying the pitcher and two full glasses on a tray - but the level of liquid in the pitcher hasn't changed, even though he's supposedly filled the glasses from it. Later, when the pitcher is sitting on Mother's dresser, the pitcher's level is lower, but no one has poured anything from it. (01:00:05)

Continuity mistake: Nick gets a phone call telling him another murder victim has been found and that she's been dead for at least a week. In the very next scene, Schanke says that the victim "disappeared after a date last night." (00:27:00)
