Trivia: A perennial Star Trek extra, the tall blond Eddie Paskey played a red-shirted crewman standing in the background in virtually every Trek episode for all 3 seasons. He rarely had any lines, and was even killed off in "Obsession," but was back on duty anyhow in the following episodes and for the rest of the series.

The Trouble With Tribbles - S2-E15
Continuity mistake: When Kirk is standing in the huge pile of tribbles, he's cradling two large tribbles in his arms in full shots, but only one, and in a different position, in close-ups. (00:40:00)

Star Trek (1966)
Continuity mistake: In the briefing room, Hengist and the Prefect are sitting in chairs against the wall at least a foot apart, with bright overhead lighting that casts no shadows on the wall behind them. When we cut to a two-shot of them, however, they're suddenly shoulder-to-shoulder with almost no space between them, and the lighting changes to cast very dark shadows behind them. (00:28:20)

The Blue and the Gray (1982)
Visible crew/equipment: During the Battle of Bull Run, just before the first shell is fired towards the plantation house, at the upper part of the screen you can see a helicopter flying over the battle action. (01:45:00)

Star Trek (1966)
Continuity mistake: At the end, when Kirk and Garrovick are beamed up seconds before the explosion, Kirk is holding his communicator up to his mouth with both hands. But when they finally materialize on the Enterprise, Kirk's hands are down at his sides: no communicator in sight. (00:47:00 - 00:48:10)

Star Trek (1966)
Continuity mistake: Kirk's arrow strikes the Klingon in the knee. But a few shots later, the shaft is protruding from his thigh, several inches above its original position. Still later, he's holding one hand to his calf just below the knee, which isn't where the arrow was either time. (00:43:40)

Star Trek (1966)
Continuity mistake: Before the Capellans reach him, the Klingon's body moves into a completely different position, and to a different spot on the ground, than it was in when he first fell. (00:46:10)

Star Trek (1966)
Continuity mistake: The aging Kirk's hairline has receded considerably. When he ages still more and goes completely gray, however, the receding process inexplicably reverses itself, and he suddenly has much more hair on his forehead than before. (00:34:35 - 00:43:55)

Monk (2002)
Mr. Monk and the Other Detective - S4-E1
Continuity mistake: During Monk's therapy session, Dr. Kroger places his black folder on the arm of his chair. Every time the camera angle changes, the position of his right arm shifts from resting in his lap to lying on top of the folder.

Monk (2002)
Continuity mistake: In the opening sequence, the uniformed cop who finds toddler Tommy holding the severed finger bends down and says, "What've you got there, big guy?" In full shot, the cop is bare-handed. But when we cut to a close-up in the middle of his line, he's suddenly wearing a latex glove.

Star Trek (1966)
Continuity mistake: The shiny gold blanket covering the dying Commissioner Hedford is tucked up to her neck in close-ups, but only reaches her upper waist in full shots. (00:36:45)

Forever Knight (1992)
Plot hole: Nick calls Schanke and asks him to take the Polaroids in to a lab for analysis. But Nick seems to have forgotten that he has the photos with him. They're not back at the precinct station for Schanke to take them in. (00:30:25)

Forever Knight (1992)
Plot hole: Near the end, a cop comes to tell Schanke that an explosion has been reported at Nick's place. But neither of the two intruders uses any explosives. One shoots his way in through a door and the other breaks in through a skylight. Neither makes enough noise for the disturbance to be called an explosion. (00:41:15)

Forever Knight (1992)
Plot hole: When the two henchmen who break into Nick's loft to kill Lisa are captured, the case is closed. But the two thugs were reporting back to a boss who wasn't caught, and who surely would have sent more hitmen after Lisa. So the case shouldn't have been closed.

Forever Knight (1992)
Plot hole: The insertion of a musical sequence used to fill extra time in this episode creates a plot problem. It's spliced in between Nick's urgent plea for Nat to stall the autopsy and his rescuing the bound and gagged Rebecca, and unfortunately makes it appear that in that interval, Nick simply went home, played music and sat in his loft window brooding, ignoring the case altogether. Monk (2002)
Mr. Monk Gets Stuck in Traffic - S3-E13
Revealing mistake: The VW Beetle that slides out of the dump truck and rolls over is noticeably not the same car the victim was driving earlier. It's a lighter color, and is already badly dented, even before it's wrecked.

Monk (2002)
Mr. Monk Gets Stuck in Traffic - S3-E13
Factual error: Monk inspects the wrecked VW Beetle and notes that "the air conditioning is off." But it's a standard 1973 VW: they didn't come with A/C, and though you could add it, it tended to overstress the little air-cooled engine. Look closely and you can see that this VW does not have the bulky under-dash compressor needed to run an add-on A/C.

Mr. Monk Gets Stuck in Traffic - S3-E13
Continuity mistake: Throughout the highway driving sequence in the beginning, Natalie's rear view mirror disappears and reappears repeatedly.

House of Dark Shadows (1970)
Revealing mistake: Julia confirms that Barnabas is a vampire by sneaking a look at him in her compact mirror - which reflects his human companions, but not him. Unfortunately, the producers seem to have forgotten that vampires don't reflect when, near the end, we see the recently-staked vampire Roger Collins - in a mirror. Not even "dead" vampires ever appeared in mirrors in the TV series, so they shouldn't do so here, either. (01:27:15)
