Then when you see Phoebe again her hair is behind her shoulder yet she has not moved or touched her hair. (00:45:00)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning when Chandler is talking about two reasons to pick a minister, he counts them using his left hand. However, in the wide shot straight afterward his right hand has two fingers up and his left hand is in his lap. (00:02:00)

Continuity mistake: When Mark is telling Rachel they should get back at Ross right there on the couch, Rachel's hands go in a instant from on her chest to down her sides. (00:14:50)

Continuity mistake: In the scene after Monica pretends to drop socks in the hallway in order to prevent Rachel from telling Ross she still loves him, Rachel goes back into the apartment and locks Monica out. Monica then starts to pound on the door with her bare left hand. The scene changes to the apartment and Ross opens the door to let Monica in. All of a sudden Monica is pounding the door with her right hand wrapped in a sock. (This continuity problem is for the widescreen version, where we see a closeup of Monica not seen on the DVD, in the hallway with a bare hand right before Ross opens the door. However, on the DVD there are extra shots of Ross and Rachel after seeing Monica's bare hand pounding and then seeing her with the sock on her hand, which gives her ample time to put it on). The One With Phoebe's Rats - S9-E12
Continuity mistake: Extended version. As Rachel says "the guy hates me", in a wide shot Monica turns to her with her arms by her sides to say "does he?". It then cuts to a shot more focused on Monica where she laughs, and she's now reaching forwards to the table. (00:13:10)
The One With the Baby on the Bus - S2-E6
Factual error: In the one where Joey and Chandler lose baby Ben on a transit city bus, they later have to pick him up at the transit city headquarters. The man working there assumes that one of them is the father. There is no way that a city official would just give away a baby without checking for ID or a birth certificate or proof of fathership of the child. (00:14:30)

Continuity mistake: Just after Chandler explains the situation to Janice, she goes off crying, and Ross takes a photo. The flash is much brighter than it should be - the screen's whited out to disguise a jump cut - after the flash Chandler's noticeably further back than he was before. (00:17:45)

Continuity mistake: When Rachel tells Ross that she lost Marcel, the bottle of wine has the cork sticking half way out. In the next scene which continues directly on from before as Ross and Rachel argue, the cork is back in the bottle. (00:10:15)

Answer: Usually by the seventh night of Hanukkah you don't know what to get the other person, and you will probably resort to getting the other person something insignificant. Chandler is basically saying that the pen is a stupid gift.
