Continuity mistake: Will runs down the stairs at the prison and says, "You! Sparrow!" and Jack responds, "Aye." In the following shots Jack's hair with red ties and the white shirt string, both on his left side, change position, arrangement, or even existence in the wide shots, and close-ups while the two talk. Earlier, after Jack saves drowning Elizabeth, the position of the red scarf around his head differs between shots - note the beads over his eyes. As a matter of fact, the positions of his red scarf ends, strings of beads, bone, etc., in Jack's hair, ALL change in consecutive shots many times throughout the film, from the moment he is first seen on the Jolly Mon, to the moment he makes his dramatic exit. Continuity mistake: Barbossa says, "Buried on an island of the dead what cannot be found, except for those who know where it is." In this shot only the objects in the center of the table slide down towards Elizabeth, including the two candelabras and her plate of food, having nothing to do with the object's weight. The objects that face Elizabeth on the table to her left and to her right don't move, only those on the moving center track. Also seen on DVD 2. (00:56:45)
Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth joins Barbossa for dinner there are candelabras on the table behind Elizabeth and Barbossa and many loose candles all around. The candle heights vary in many shots. One example: when Barbossa says, "All the scattered pieces of the Aztec gold," the candles on the candelabra behind Elizabeth are much shorter than in the shot right after when Elizabeth asks, "And the blood to be repaid?" where they're much taller. Revealing mistake: The morning after the pageant, Matthews' voiceover says, "You gotta admit, a part of you is gonna miss this" as we see a shot of the front of the hotel. We see the contestants milling around outside wearing the same outfits and sashes as the morning of the pre-pageant orientation breakfast. Obviously this shot does not belong here at all. We then see those same women, dressed completely differently, inside surprising Gracie! (01:42:45)

Continuity mistake: When Ivan, Krashow and the other Russian sit, the unoccupied table between them and Gracie is seen. That table is seen again when the waitress walks over to pick up the tip and clear it. The position of the utensils, used napkins, etc., are different in both shots. This is before she touches any dishes. Also, on the table that Krashow leans on as he's choking we see the bread off the board, and the knife under the napkin, but in the next close-up of the table, the bread is on the board with the knife under the loaf. Also in this wide shot, behind Stan and Cheryl there are contestants lined up in front of the shrubbery, but in the previous close-up as she answers the question, there are no contestants behind them. The Pageant Matron sticks her face between the curtains and in the close-up says, "Oh here you are, you're up next." His next shot, once again he's to the left of yellow shirt man, in front of the display easel and a man with a stetson and a dark blue denim shirt sits there. One button is closed on Vic's blazer, Matthews has the black duffel in his right hand and the suitcase in his left hand and Clonsky has the blue duffel in his left hand and two other pieces of luggage in his right hand. Yet in the next shot from outside the car, there are now two buttons closed on Vic's blazer, Matthews' luggage switched hands and Clonsky's blue duffel is now in his right hand with one of the pieces of luggage. Continuity mistake: As Gracie speeds towards Starbucks, we see an the aerial shot of the intersection. There is a large white truck at the corner and there are three yellow taxi cabs waiting at the red light. As the car spins into the U-turn, in these shots there is no white truck, but there is a service truck with a cherry picker at the corner. Then in the close-up of Gracie getting out of the car, there are no yellow cabs, instead there are one brown and two white cars waiting at the still unchanged red light. (00:10:05)
