Continuity mistake: After being tossed out of the car, Ron and Harry chase after it when it drives off. In the wide shots, as they run through the outside corridor and when they stop at the arched doorway, their breath is visible in the air around them. Whereas their breath is not visible in the previous or following shots. (00:28:30)

Visible crew/equipment: Just arriving at Diagon Alley Hagrid says, "I was looking for Flesh-Eating Slug Repellent. They're ruining all the school cabbages." In the next shot Hermione exits the shop and runs towards Harry. On the ground is Dan Radcliffe's (Harry) red mark, which he promptly steps on just before Emma Watson (Hermoine) glances down and steps on her own black tape mark. (Visible on fullscreen DVD.) Continuity mistake: When Harry is in Borgin & Burkes in Knockturn Alley, he approaches the glass dome with skulls sitting on the shelf and to the right is a large round mirror sitting atop a cabinet. When he walks away after freeing his hand from The Hand of Glory, in this wide shot there is now a very tall, ornate, wrought iron fixture behind him that stands beside the shelf, in front of the round mirror and cabinet, that was not in that previous shot. Revealing mistake: During the Quidditch match, just after the close-ups of Snape and Lucius Malfoy, there is a shot of Harry flying towards the camera, coming to stop, with Draco Malfoy flying in beside him and in this shot the goal posts cast a shadow on the sand. Malfoy remarks, "All right there, Scarhead?" and Harry looks down below at the approaching Bludger. Now in this shot, not only do the goal posts have a completely different shadow, there are no hoops at the top of the poles' shadows (while the angle might make them hard to spot, putting everything in a line, the shadows should at least thicken at the top where the hoops are). Continuity mistake: As Harry and Malfoy race to the Snitch, in the shot facing Colin as they approach him, the platform he stands on, the stairs to his left, etc., are all visible, as is the area below the platform, just under the Hufflepuff tarp which is in front of Colin, to his left. In the next shot as Harry and Malfoy zoom by, the platform and stairs are different and there is now a crate, with a basket and other things on top of it, sitting under the Hufflepuff tarp, etc. (00:56:25)

Revealing mistake: The appearance of Harry's scar differs in some close-ups. For example, at the Quidditch match, in Harry's first close-up his scar has an outline and is thicker than other shots. Other examples are, in Harry's first close-up as he flies behind Malfoy below the pitch stands and also when he reaches for the Snitch after his arm breaks. (00:53:35 - 00:55:50)

Revealing mistake: The Ford Anglia's front seats keep changing. When Ron, Fred and George are rescuing Harry from the Dursleys, the front passenger seat has a curved thin back and is very dark blue with light blue trim at each side. However some examples when it differs are, as Harry hangs from the car while flying over Hogwarts Express, though the seat has a curved back, in some shots the seat is two shades of light blue and in others it is as in the shots at the Dursleys. Yet at Hogwarts, when the car ejects Hedwig, the back of the seat is thick and perfectly sraight and so on. (00:09:35 - 00:25:05)

Audio problem: When the boys sneak into the Weasley house, while Harry walks over to the clock, one of the other boys whispers, "Do you think it'd be alright if we had some of these?" meaning the biscuits on the table, to which another replies, "Yeah. Mum will never know." The problem is, none of the boys are mouthing any of these words. (00:11:05)

Continuity mistake: When the spider has Ron by the neck, Harry motions for Ron to move his head so he can take aim at the spider and yells, "Arania Exumai!" As the spider is forced away, in the close-up the back of Ron's head is positioned out his window. In the wide shot of the spider as it 'flies' away, Ron is sitting normally in the car. Yet, in the next close-up Ron's head is still positioned out of his window. (01:48:40)

Continuity mistake: The car races toward Harry and Ron in the Dark Forest and when it stops, the lantern lies on the ground beside the car's doors. However in the two shots, when Fang gets in (the first time) and when Ron gets in, the lantern is further away from the car. (01:47:55)

Continuity mistake: In the girls' lavatory, Lockhart tries to bolt so Harry and Ron stop him and push him back. When Harry says, "You first," in this first shot his cloak not only drapes over the sink to his left, it's also under his hand's tight grip of the sink's wall. However in the next shot, still gripping the wall, his cloak now hangs behind him. Then after Ron says, "Better you than us," Lockhart's cloak is positioned the same way as the first shot. Revealing mistake: When Lockhart says, "I must ask you not to scream. It might..," as he says, "Provoke them," the first shot is a close-up of Lockhart as he begins to remove the cloth. Next is a close-up of the cage as Lockhart reveals the pixies. Lockhart's face is clearly visible and it is not Kenneth Branagh who is mouthing the words, "Provoke them," that were already heard in the previous shot. (00:36:10)

Visible crew/equipment: In the three shots facing Lockhart as he continues to say, "It is my job to arm you against the foulest creatures known to wizardkind... Know only that no harm can befall you whilst I am here," there is a WIRE attached at the bottom left of the cloth that lies on the pixie's cage. However in the close-up of the cage, as Lockhart removes the cloth, the bottom of the cloth is clearly visible and the wire is gone. (00:35:55)

Continuity mistake: The stripes on the knot of Harry's tie change position between certain shots, yet Harry does not redo his tie. For example, the diagonal red stripe is higher when he first speaks with Tom Riddle and lower when he kills Riddle and thanks Fawkes. (02:11:20 - 02:16:15)

Audio problem: When Tom Riddle confronts young Hagrid, the first time Riddle says, "Now, stand aside," Hagrid yells, "No!" but Hagrid's lips don't move. (01:32:25)

Audio problem: Riddle tells young Hagrid in the close-up, "They'll have your wand for this Hagrid. You'll be expelled." In the following side shot Riddle's mouth still moves as Hagrid puts his head down and though no words are heard his lips move as if repeating "You'll be expelled." It is not until the next shot of Harry as he yells, "Hagrid!" that the memory just begins to end as Harry moves back to the present. (01:32:50)

Continuity mistake: The smudges on Harry's face and the dirt on Harry's cloak, pants, etc., change in consecutive shots, throughout the shots after the rock slide, within the Chamber of Secrets and thereafter. (02:04:00)

Revealing mistake: As Harry climbs the Salazar Slytherine stone head's locks of hair, the Basilisk crashes his face and creates the first immense hole. As Harry tries to climb higher, it pounds into the stone again creating another huge hole, higher up on another lock of hair, to Harry's left as he hangs on. However, when the Basilisk smashes his face into the stone a third time, as Harry nears the top, the second huge hole is GONE, in this shot and in the first wide shot in which Tom Riddle is visible. Audio problem: In the Chamber of Secrets, Riddle says, "You'll find I can be very persuasive." In the next shot facing Harry, the side of Riddle's face is visible and he is obviously speaking before we hear these words, "Not that she knew what she was doing." (02:05:55)

Continuity mistake: Harry pulls the sword out from the Basilisk's mouth, clutches at his right arm and the sword he holds has blood only at the tip. In the very next shot, as he clutches the tooth in his right arm, sword still in hand, there is now plenty of blood on the blade. (02:13:50)
