Suggested correction: The banister is always present. However, Homer's body occasionally blocks the view of the bannister giving the impression that it is absent.

Tree House of Horror V - S6-E6

Continuity mistake: In 'Time and Punishment,' the blue button on the toaster occasionally differs from being at the bottom of the lever to suddenly at the top, visible in the first shots of Homer fixing the toaster and between shots after Homer sits on the pink fish. (00:09:25 - 00:12:45)

Co-Dependent's Day - S15-E15

Continuity mistake: At the Randall Curtis's Ranch we see Randall Curtis ride off on a Ton-Ton to go to the video store but in a scene only a few minutes later we see Marge and Homer drunk, tossing him around. Unless the video store is on the ranch or very close by this doesn't seem possible for someone so determined to rent movies.

Bart to the Future - S11-E17

Continuity mistake: When the Ranger stops the Simpsons' car at the start of the episode, watch his "class ring". When he puts his hands inside the car it's on the left hand. However, the flies later eat his hand and take his ring, and it's suddenly his right hand they ate and took it from.

Suggested correction: There is a shot panning all the sports videos, enough time for Homer to swap hands.

Skinner's Sense of Snow - S12-E8

Nelson: Hey, look how much Skinner makes: $25,000 a year.
Bart: Let's see, he's 40 years old times 25 grand. Whoa, he's a millionaire.
Skinner: I wasn't a principal when I was one.
Nelson: Plus, in the summer, he paints houses.
Milhouse: He's a billionaire.
Skinner: If I were a billionaire, why would I be living with my mother? [All the kids laugh at him.] They're just not responding to logic anymore.
