The Simpsons

This Little Wiggy - S9-E18

Continuity mistake: When the family are on the conveyer belt in the Knowledgeium, Homer turns round and grabs the handrail (after the Troy Maclure announcement) and his fingers are just touching the rail. In the next shot his hands are clasped to the rail.

Homer Alone - S3-E15

Audio problem: When Marge is running errands, Homer gives her his bowling ball with a bottle cap stuck in a hole. She then takes it to Nicks. When he says, "Sorry lady, you've got the wrong Nicks," he shakes his head and makes an "Ohh" shape with his mouth, not saying anything. (00:03:50)

Bart Gets Famous - S5-E12

Continuity mistake: After Bart's career is dead, he is at his house, and Marge brings out a box of Bart related items. She pulls out a doll and hands it to Bart, as she is handing it to him, the doll's arms disappear, and then reappear when Bart touches it.

Hurricane Neddy - S8-E8

Continuity mistake: Ned's clothes are cut and torn in the huricane, but the next day, they are somehow clean and intact. He can't have gone home and changed, otherwise he would have seen everyone repairing his house.

Lost Our Lisa - S9-E24

Continuity mistake: When Homer's head gets caught in the middle of the draw bridge, a yellow stripe can be seen down the center of the bridge (where Homer has become stuck). However, in the closeup of Homer being hit by the cars, the stripe has disappeared.

Dandude

Marge on the Lam - S5-E6

Continuity mistake: When Chief Wiggum and Homer think that the convertible Ruth and Marge are in is a ghost car, they want to hold each other. In this shot, you can see 1 small star out of the backseat of the police car. But in the next shot, from the perspective of the backseat, there is a canyon top where the star would be.

The Ziff Who Came to Dinner - S15-E14

Continuity mistake: When the Simpsons first see Artie Ziff in the attic, as he stands up, there's a theremin behind him (corresponding with Homer's comment that the "ghost" was playing his theremin). Artie puts a sign up above it. However, when Artie moves to the rafters, the sign he put up is still there, but the theremin isn't.

Moose

Gump Roast - S13-E17

Deliberate mistake: Where do the "professional roasters" get those home movies of Homer's stupidity? No one could possibly have filmed his skiing mishap or the Funzo incident. Also, how does Maggie keep a mental record of celebrities that she didn't meet in person?

Selma's Choice - S4-E13

Continuity mistake: When the police talk about the bumper cars getting stolen by Jimbo Jones, you see him and his 2 friends riding off in bumper cars. From the side angle, there are 2 blue and 1 red car, but from the rear view, there is 1 blue, l red, and 1 green car.

Tree House of Horror X - S11-E4

[The Simpsons are driving down a road as fast as possible.]
Homer: Dear God, it's Homer. If you really love me you'll save my life now.
[The gas needle immediately drops to empty and the car stops.]
Homer: D'oh.

Trivia: Maggie scans as $847.63 in the supermarket at the beginning (not NRA4EVER, as Troy Maclure asserts in 3F31 "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular), the price it costs to feed and care for the average American baby every month.

Tree House of Horror V - S6-E6

Question: Homer travels back in time and causes changes by what he does in the past, like stepping on a bug. I once saw a movie with the same basic plot: some people travel back in time and are told to be careful not to disturb anything, but when they return to their time everything has changed. In the end they discover it was because they stepped on a butterfly. Does anyone know the name of this movie?

Answer: I'm not sure if this is the one you're thinking of, but an episode of "Ray Bradbury Theatre," called "A Sound of Thunder," dealt with a similar matter: a group of hunters travel back in time to hunt dinosaurs, only to find things have changed when they get back because someone stepped on a butterfly.
