Continuity mistake: When the Munchkin in purple tells Dorothy to follow the yellow brick road, Toto runs ahead of Dorothy. In the next shot he's back behind her.

Continuity mistake: When the group reads the sign in the Haunted Forest, the lion holds the handle of the butterfly net away from his breast. In the next shot it's pressed against it.

Continuity mistake: In the haunted forest, when the Tin Man is lifted up in the air, the Lion crouches and covers his face with his paws. A frame later he is standing up in a totally different position.

Continuity mistake: Aunt Em places a cold towel on Dorothy's head. The towel is sometimes away from the eyebrow, slightly on top, or completely covering it, depending on the angle.

Continuity mistake: After the Witch leaves, Glinda tells Dorothy, "You may get up, she's gone," and turns to the right. In the next shot, she hasn't turned around yet.

Continuity mistake: The Lion says, "Read what my medal says," and holds it with his paw. In the close-ups the paw is away and the medal lies flat on his chest.

Continuity mistake: When the cyclone arrives, the farmhands let out the horses, which run wild through the farm. In the immediate wide angle there's no sign of humans or animals anywhere.

Revealing mistake: When Dorothy's bedroom is flying away to Oz, there's wind blowing everywhere and bits of hay falling. However, the hay is coming from inside the room, instead of outside, and the papers on the table next to the window don't blow away nor move an inch.

Continuity mistake: After the Witch has melted, the Tin Man turns his head and looks at the Lion. In the next frame he is facing straight.

Continuity mistake: Toto runs away from the castle and Dorothy starts to cry. The angle changes and her left arm is now raised and she is also not crying as bitterly as in the previous frame.
