Good Boys (2019)

Revealing mistake: The paddle used by Thor in the frat house is a prop. When it is slammed over a frat guy's back, it breaks into two halves with one half showing a connector peg. (00:51:10)

Boyhood (2014)

Revealing mistake: It is obvious that the actor, Ellar Coltrane, is watching and waiting for the cue for "Mason" to start drinking from his can of beer at the pool hall. (02:03:44)

Boyhood (2014)

Continuity mistake: The red sunrash/burn that Mason had under his eyes and across the top of his nose (in a pattern suggesting or indicating that he was wearing sunglasses) when he was driving to UT with Sheena is not always the same intensity. Also, even though the sunburn was still there the following morning around 3:00 AM when Mason and Sheena were eating Nachos at a restaurant, it "disappeared" later that day. Similar observations can be made regarding Mason's "complexion" (acne).. (01:59:44)

Boyhood (2014)

Continuity mistake: Randy's left leg and foot, in particular - and sometimes his hands and right leg - change positions several times when the family is playing Charades, and he is sitting on the couch watching. First his left knee is bent and his left foot/shoe are on the edge of the couch, but each time the camera returns to him he is in a different position: A little later his left hand is on his left knee; then his left leg is resting on the couch and his shoe is partially down the side; next his knee is back in the air, his shoe is resting on the couch, and his elbow is on his left knee; then he is on the other couch sitting to the right of his dad and Mason with his feet on the floor and his left hand behind the couch's back; and then his left knee is bent again, his hands are down, and his right foot is on the couch. These changes occur during the two short skits and within 30 seconds of film time. Excluding moving to the other couch, Randy's positions are not deliberate to show passage of time. (00:28:10)

Boyhood (2014)

Continuity mistake: The position of Mason's dad's cigarette lighter on the table at the bowling alley varies with who the camera is pointed at and changes about five times. It is standing upright when the camera faces Mason and his sister Sam but it is lying flat on the table when the camera faces Mason Sr. (00:17:12)

Good Boys (2019)

Other mistake: The paintball gun was too big (length and width) to fit inside of Max's backpack, and it didn't look like Thor was going to be able to get the paintball gun completely in and zipper the backpack closed. After Lucas dislocates his shoulder, Thor goes into Max's backpack to get the mouth gag and there is no sign of the big paintball gun. The backpack also did not appear to contain the paintball gun when the back side of Max was shown before going up the steps to the frat house. For the record, none of the Good Boys was shown putting the mouth gag into the backpack; Thor did put the face mask in the backpack. (00:32:54 - 00:38:50)

Good Boys (2019)

Other mistake: The bedroom window (wall opposite of Max's bed) presents a couple issues. First, from the opening scene, Max's bedroom is on the second floor of the house. How Lucas is able to stand outside of this window (to get Max to go to Soren's party) is problematic. There appears to be a trellis to the left of Lucas, but it would not enable Lucas to get up to or stand outside of the window. His height relative to the window sill on the outside is also questionable. Second, when Max first stands up, the window sill is neck-high to Max (who is slightly on his tip-toes). Next, Max is standing by the window and the sill is a few inches below his shoulders. The height of the window sill relative to Max varies a few times (and isn't merely due to the camera's angle). Good Boys (2019)

Other mistake: Based on the license plates, the Good Boys live in Illinois. Public schools have an attendance policy and require parents to inform the school if a child is going to be absent. If the parent/guardian fails to contact the school, the school will try contacting the parent at home or work, usually within about 2 hours after the student's absence from his/her first class. The Good Boys could not have skipped school without getting caught. Thor's mom apparently did not know that Thor was absent because she told him that Max's mom told her that Max skipped school and went to the mall by himself - and asked Thor to promise her he wouldn't do anything so stupid.

Good Boys (2019)

Continuity mistake: When the Good Boys tell newly-arrived Claude that the "CPR doll" is Thor's mom, the doll is wearing some type of headphones. The headphones are still on when Claude asks for a drink of water and shakes the doll's shoulder, but there are no headphones on the doll (or on the floor where the doll fell) when Claude sets the doll on the table. Also, when the doll falls, the flowers on the table fall over but are upright the next time they can be seen. Claude barely had enough time to pick up the doll, so it is doubtful that he put the flowers/vase upright. (00:32:31 - 00:34:21)

Good Boys (2019)

Other mistake: Max is shown at the skate park during the time he was grounded (a month in the hole). In Chapter 18, Thor is auditioning and practicing, Brixlee breaks up with Max at school, Taylor becomes Max's new girlfriend, and Brixlee and Taylor are together at the skate park. Max should not have been at the skate park because his "30 days in the hole" didn't end until the day before the "Rock of Ages" show (where Scout is as Max's latest girlfriend). At Thor's backyard celebration after "Rock of Ages", Max tells Thor and Lucas that it seems like they haven't talked for weeks. I think this was supposed to be funny in that Max was grounded for four weeks, but Max was not completely cut off from his friends - surely they were able to see and talk to each other during school hours, just like Max was able to make new girlfriends.

Other mistake: At the skate park (which should be Thursday after school), Max says that the necklace he is making for Brixley isn't in the kiln yet. On Friday, after Max's dad tells him he is grounded and Lucas shows up outside of Max's bedroom window, Max tells Lucas that the necklace is still in the kiln. The Good Boys went into the boys' restroom when they got to school and soon left to go to the mall, so there was no time for Max to put the necklace in the kiln - or for him to know that it was in the kiln.

Continuity mistake: While Thor is taking "sips" at Soren's party, the girl [who may appear to be a boy at first glance] behind him (on the far left of the screen) changes position a few times. Sometimes she is standing directly next to the girl to her right (almost touching shoulders), other times she is further away, and another time she is standing behind the girl.

Good Boys (2019)

Continuity mistake: When Thor is crossing the highway before the mall and drops the beer bottle, there are three vehicles approaching and relatively close to him: from left to right, a blue car, a white (or gray?) car, and a red pickup truck. When Thor goes back for the beer bottle, there are different cars approaching, and they are more distant than the previous ones. There is a white truck in the far left lane and a white car in the far right lane and two vehicles further back in between. Looking behind Thor, the cars that have just passed him are not the cars that were first shown. Next, the initial three vehicles (blue car on the left, etc.) are approaching again, are close to Thor, and then crash.

Revealing mistake: During the sax player's solo (final concert), his fingers don't match the notes, and he stops moving his fingers before the solo is over. Also, the sax player in the blue jacket behind Buddy's right side often lags behind the sax player to his right. At times, it looked like the sax player was watching the sax player next to him to know when to play. Sometimes, he would put the reed in his mouth for a fraction of a section and just pretend to be playing. Near the end, both sax players seem lost and even laughing at themselves. (01:47:17)

Factual error: Charlie was at Mayview State Hospital typing by the window. In the not-too-far distance, the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning is visible. Mayview was located in Bridgeville, PA which is about 15 miles away, so The Cathedral shouldn't be visible. (Pittsburgh's terrain is hilly - not flat enough to see very far). (01:33:40)

Lymelife (2008)

Continuity mistake: Jim, driving Scott home, is smoking a cigarette that disappears before he slaps Scott the second time. There is no smoke in the vehicle that would suggest Jim temporarily placed the cigarette in the ashtray. (00:15:09)

Deliberate mistake: There are no yellow/amber lights as Patrick drives Sam and Charlie through the tunnel. Yellow/amber lights are present as soon as drivers enter the tunnel - a warning to slow down, as well as help drivers' eyes to adjust to the light level inside. I presume it was better to have all white lights while filming (and traffic was controlled). (00:27:33)

Continuity mistake: When Ross comes to the Hollys' house for lunch, the positions of the coffee cups change a few times and are noticeable by which way the handle faces. First, Ross' cup handle points toward the left side of the screen. Next, the handle points toward the right side of the screen. Maria takes the cup to fill with coffee and then places the cup on the table with the handle pointing toward Buddy (on the opposite side of the table or towards the viewer). The next time Ross' cup is shown, the handle points toward the left side of the screen. The last view shows the cup with the handle pointed toward the right of the screen. Buddy moves his coffee cup once, but there are still a couple times when the handle points in a different direction compared to seconds earlier. No one was actually seen drinking coffee.

Other mistake: The suit jackets that Buddy and JP Richardson were wearing at the last concert had to have been sewn incorrectly, especially the sleeves. The seam at the top of the sleeve caused bunching all the way down the sleeve. Buddy's jacket looked like it was buttoned incorrectly at the top, but it was probably also a sewing mishap and poor fitting. So, the way the jackets were sewn was one big mistake (or wardrobe malfunction). (01:40:44)

A Home of Our Own (1993)

Factual error: After showing a picture from 1955 when he was eight, the narrator (Shayne) states that he was fifteen by 1962. The story begins with his mother getting fired from her job at a potato chip factory and making the decision that night to move the next morning. The family moves from L.A. to Kingston, Idaho. Shayne's mother Fran tells Mr. Moon that they (she and whatever work her kids do for him around the house) want paid "minimum wage plus 10%" to pay for the land and when she gets hired at the bowling alley she is told the job pays "minimum wage" (plus any tips, which "ain't much"). Idaho did not establish a minimum wage until 1963, a year (or some months) later. The narrator even asserted at the beginning "This is a true story. It really happened to me." (00:20:03 - 00:23:47)
