Continuity mistake: When Will enters Knuckles' trailer, the blinds (behind the lamp) are pulled up half-way on the left side but dangling to the lower right-hand corner. After Knuckles tells Will to "calm down" and the camera returns to Will, the blinds appear to be down on both sides. Also, the gaps between the horizontal slats change from two gaps on the right side to two larger gaps across the width. Revealing mistake: When Will enters Knuckles' trailer, the inside front door is light-colored and has a diamond-shaped window. A little later, when Will is swinging the crowbar, the door behind him is dark-colored and - in a flash - the top of the diamond-shaped window spread out (forming almost the top half of a hexagon). Continuity mistake: The positions of the two black SUVs relative to the driveway and garage are different when Justin is reviewing the recording and looks at images from opposite sides. In the first view, the SUVs are not pulled up close to the garage doors; the garage is at least a car's length away because it is not visible to the left of the screen. Continuity mistake: Esther (Leena) was wearing white ribbons in her hair when she went to and returned from Dr. Segar's office. When her dad took her inside to go to his studio, Esther was wearing blue ribbons in her hair and had on different clothes. Esther did tell her dad that her dress was ripped, but the flow from outside to the studio did not give the impression that they stopped somewhere in the house for Esther to change before going to the studio. The rear view showed more sections, making the house longer than what the front indicated and had three high chimneys compared to only one from the front. Character mistake: After Dimitri put Leena's wrist bands on for her (through the door slot), Leena said, "I want to do something nice for you; you can come in." The hospital went into lock down and the doctor took Anna to a room. Without first looking in the room, the doctor said, "Do not leave this room. Don't worry, you will be safe here and we'll come back after we found her" and then locked Anna inside the room - with Leena. (00:03:36 - 00:04:41)

Trivia: Charlie was trying to find Laura's killer during the Summer of 1969. The night the officer brought Charlie home, there was a Christmas tree, decorations (tinsel/garland), and Christmas greeting cards hung on the wall in his house. In Australia, Christmas is celebrated in the summer because December, January, and February are summer months south of the equator. Christmas is still celebrated on December 25th - the date, not the "season", is what matters. (00:47:00)

Revealing mistake: The white ball on the back of Ken's Santa Claus hat reaches to about the bottom of the white band, but occasionally is lower and sometimes even touches his shoulder. The slight variation in the amount of his forehead that extends below the hat does not appear to be able to account for the ball's reach relative to Ken's neck/shoulder. Also, the location of the seam on the left side of the white band moves higher or lower. Ken is never seen adjusting his hat. (00:16:17 - 00:16:39)

Other mistake: The time line seemed off. Ken brought his daughters to his parents' house and it appeared to be morning (not dusk). One asked why he had to work on Thanksgiving. When Ken picked up Chris to go to work, Chris' parents were just finishing their Thanksgiving dinner. At work, Marnie said, "I can't believe I missed Thanksgiving with my family..." The group of employees shared slices of turkey luncheon meat - "No one should be without Thanksgiving." The store opened at 9:00 PM - well after dinner.

Continuity mistake: The location and pattern of blood splatter on Chris' face, as well as its presence or absence, varied numerous times. Initially, Chris had blood on both sides of his mouth and on his chin, but when he was getting up, only some blood on the right side of his mouth and much less on his chin was visible. Later, there was blood on the left side of his mouth, but it was a different pattern; then it changed back. After he wiped off his face, he later had more blood on his chin and right cheek, etc. (00:39:55 - 00:51:00)

Revealing mistake: When Archie swung the fire extinguisher in front of the woman, it did not look like the fire extinguisher was close enough to strike the woman's body, let alone knock her out. Other mistake: When Ken was using the plunger to lift panels of the suspended ceiling, the bathroom stall next to him (and against the wall) was closed, but when he stooped to the floor to look at the broken bottle of alcohol, the stall door was open and someone's legs from below the knees could be seen. When this part of the movie resumed, Ken was opening the door to the stall. He was also walking on the area where the broken bottle was on the floor.
