Becky (2020)

Stupidity: Becky possessed the mysterious key that the four neo-Nazi prison escapees were at the lake house to retrieve. Becky didn't know what the key was for, so did not have a vested interest in it. By first denying that she knew where the key was and later refusing to give it to Dominick, her father was killed. Had Becky simply handed over the key when Dominick asked for it, it is possible no-one would have been hurt/ killed. Becky keeping the key with no importance to her served to further the plot.

Becky (2020)

Factual error: Apex, played by Robert Maillet (a retired professional wrestler 6'11" and 350 pounds), forcefully slams Becky (played by 5' tall fifteen-year-old Lulu Wilson who probably weighs under 100 pounds) horizontally with her back hitting the ground from waist-high yet Becky is able to get up with no incapacitating injury that would be expected. Becky also manages to brutally kill him (as well as the three other neo-Nazis).

Becky (2020)

Continuity mistake: Dominick's tattoo on the back of his head changes from the time he was in the prison courtyard to when he was boarding the bus. The older tattoos underneath were not entirely covered up or removed, blurring the swastika that he had thereafter. The transitions that occurred didn't seem possible - a swastika on top of a circle would not turn into a clear swastika. In ONE shot of the back of his head, the entire tattoo was located higher than his ears while others went lower on his head.

Trivia: Becky is wearing black boots, which might be Doc Martens. If so, the yellow shoestring might symbolize that Becky is anti-racist. Or, it might not have any meaning or significance.

Becky (2020)

Continuity mistake: A vast majority of the movie occurs over the course of a single day, so it would be expected that Becky's hair stayed about the same. However, there were frequent fluctuations in Becky's hair's length, how her bangs were arranged, and color (whether the blue streaks could be seen at all or how much at a given time, and if she had dark roots on the top of her head).

Teacher: I see where he got it.
Erasmus: Don't you think this is the pot calling the kettle black?
Paul: I did notice the word "felching" on your classroom wall which I thought was inappropriate in a classroom.
Teacher: That is "felting".
Paul: Oh, yeah. That makes more sense. Felching isn't until middle school.

Lawyer: Now, they can foreclose on Friday. Come hell or high water, be at the bank in Childress on Thursday. Knowing them f-ers, they will close early.
Toby: We'll be there.
Lawyer: Oh, and Toby, the trust needs to be managed by a bank. You really wanna cover your tracks? You get Texas Midland to handle this trust.
Toby: [Nods "okay"]

Toby: How much you making on this deal?
Lawyer: Not as much as I'm risking.
Tanner: Why do it, then?
Lawyer: You know, they loaned your mother the least they could. Just enough to keep your mama poor on a guaranteed loan. Thought they could swipe her land for $25,000. That's just so arrogant, it makes my teeth hurt. To see you boys pay these bastards with their own money? [Chuckles] Well, if that ain't Texan, I don't know what is.

Clerk: The hamster hammock is a top seller... Then we have the seesaw, nibblers and the pet playhouse.
Man: There's no room for the pet playhouse.
Clerk: You know, it's funny. You don't strike me as a hamster person.
Man: Well, I am.
Clerk: You seem more like a reptile person... Snakes. That's it. You're a snake person.
Man: Snakes eat hamsters... You know, you remind me a lot of my mother.
Clerk: Really?
Man: Yeah. She wasn't a good listener and she never knew when to shut the f - up.

Trivia: Dylan's mom's story about the Florida man who was in bed when a sinkhole opened up under him actually happened to Jeffrey Bush on 2/28/13 in Seffner, Fl (Tampa suburb). He (along with his bedroom furniture) was entombed. Brother Jeremy heard him scream, jumped in with a shovel and tried to dig him out, but Jeffrey's body was never recovered. The house was razed and the sinkhole filled in but it re-opened 2+ years later on 8/20/15. Sinkholes are common in FL and 6 states - AL, KY, MS, PA, TN, TX. (01:26:35)

Other mistake: After Katelyn "exploded", the school was evacuated and Tessa met Mara in the parking lot. Tessa was not in Mara's third period pre-calculus class, so asked Mara what happened. The entire pre-calculus class was taken to the police station for questioning. Tessa [or someone who looks just like her!] appears to be standing in the corner wearing a gray sweatsuit like the others. Tessa was also with Mara to be interviewed by Special Agent Rosetti - but Tessa was not in the class or a witness. (00:03:26)

Other mistake: Near the end of the movie when Mara is driving away in Dylan's milk truck, she looks into the driver's side mirror and sees a perfect image of her parents standing in the driveway. Considering her parents were standing on the passenger side of the milk truck before she pulled out and given that she is driving away from a cul-de-sac, Mara could not possibly be able to see her parents in her mirror as shown. Trivia: Despite having outspoken Mara as a student in his classes for at least two consecutive years, Mr. Spiros mispronounced her name as "Mare-ah" instead of "Mar-ah." I don't think it is an accident in the movie that Mr. Spiros also mispronounced Dylan's last name as "Hove-meyer" instead of "Huv-ah-meyer." These may serve as examples of how "distant" or "disinterested" some teachers are in getting to know (or truly care about) their students. (00:17:55 - 01:20:19)

Trivia: Any significance to the C-4 jukebox song? Was it a Springsteen song about a milk truck? Did it represent the blood component test (Component C4) used to diagnose diseases such as lupus (suggesting a possible cause for "popping")? Low C4 levels are associated with liver disease from drinking alcohol - a hint that drugs/alcohol were to blame? There is a plastic explosive C-4. A detonator is required to explode a stick of C-4 - FBI Agent Rosetti asked Mara and Tess if they were blowing up people. (00:58:25)

Continuity mistake: The amount of Mara's cocktail [called "All of My Friends and Boyfriend Are Dead"] in the martini glass changes. She initially adds grenadine to almost the rim, but when she raises the glass, it is not as full. There also appears to be somewhat more in the glass when she sets it on the table for her dad. Trivia: FBI Special Agent Rosetti responded to Mara's joke - "It could be worse, right? We could be Republicans" - by saying, "That was funny." Republicans probably don't agree and viewers favoring various political parties might not "get" the joke. Basically, New Jersey (movie's setting) has been a "Democratic trifecta" for about the last thirty (30) years (since 1992). (Ha Ha?). (00:29:07)

Trivia: It might seem unusual to use a high school pre-calculus class to introduce most of the main characters (which include several football players) and the phenomenon of "popping" or spontaneous combustion, but New Jersey Public Schools are either at THE top or among the top best public schools in the U.S. New Jersey also has a high percentage of college graduates (~ 40% ages 25+) and a high per capita income (i.e, is a wealthy state).

Other mistake: It obviously rained during Mara's 10-mile overnight walk to Tessa's house (the road in front of Tessa's house was wet), but Mara (clothes, shoes, etc.) was dry. Mara somehow miraculously and totally avoided getting wet (or even splashed) while walking long distance, unprotected in the rain! (Carrying a bottle of alcohol and drinking heavily did not affect her ability to keep her shoes from getting muddy). (01:09:00 - 01:09:26)
