Trivia: AnnaSophia Robb ("Opal") has a remarkable and even uncanny resemblance to Dakota Fanning. Agewise, their dates of birth are less than three months apart. Dakota is not in "Because of Winn-Dixie", but her younger sister Elle is. Dakota and Elle have acted in the same movie (e.g, Elle played a younger version of Dakota in "I Am Sam"). Perhaps Dakota had a prior commitment/contract filming "The Door In The Floor" (2004) so could not sign a contract to star in "Because of Winn-Dixie" (2005) with filming starting in 2003.

Unhinged (2020)

Continuity mistake: The amount of rain on The Man's shirt is relatively light when he reaches the doorstep but his shirt was saturated before he even started going up the sidewalk. He was in the house for a couple of minutes to kill the two people and set the house on fire (not enough time for his shirt to dry) yet his shirt was almost dry when he exited the house. The Man's shirt got soaked again on his way to his truck. The shirt looks dark blue when saturated with rain but light blue when it is dry. (00:02:53 - 00:03:51)

Countdown (2019)

Stupidity: Dr. Sullivan not only put unwelcome moves on Quinn, he mentioned the good or lush letter of recommendation he wrote for her - implying he deserved or was entitled to a sexual favor in return. For "Doctor" Sullivan to do and say what he did in this day and age isn't merely a "character mistake", it is outright stupidity. (00:25:50)

KeyZOid

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Stupidity entries are not for when characters do something stupid, otherwise everything in "Dumb and Dumber" would be mistakes. Stupidities are minor plot holes that extend beyond character mistakes. The fact that in real life people in power behave this way means it's something the character of Dr. Sullivan could do.

Bishop73

Dumb and Dumber is supposed to be stupid; a medical doctor is not.

KeyZOid

You missed the point entirely. It's not a stupidity that a man in power thinks he can get away with sexual harassment, despite being a doctor.

Bishop73

I didn't assert that he thought he could get away with it - he was being stupid for even saying such a thing.

KeyZOid

Regardless of if you asserted it or not, unless someone thinks it's not wrong, people do questionable or illegal things because they think they can get away with it. But characters are allowed to do stupid things without it always being a minor plot hole (i.e. a stupidity). A quick news search of doctors accused of sexual harassment will show half a dozen stories this year alone, showing that doctors in real life act this way, therefore, it's not a mistake for a character to do it.

Bishop73

It is still stupidity... and the doctors in your search were also stupid.

KeyZOid

I'm not sure how you're not getting this, or if you're being pedantic on purpose. There was no plot hole for his actions. Therefore, no mistake exist and the correction is valid. Being stupid isn't a valid stupidity entry. Being stupid to serve the plot is though (e.g. writing a drug name on the arm instead of telling someone your plan). People submit mistakes incorrectly and as long as it's not wildly inappropriate or nonsensical, it will be posted. Which is why there is the option to submit a correction. To clarify, being stupid, not a mistake. A character doing something they wouldn't (possibly because of the writer's lack of knowledge), character mistake. A character doing something that doesn't make sense that mildly serves the plot, stupidity. Something done that contradicts the plot or what's been established in-film, plot hole.

Bishop73

I'm willing to modify "stupidity" to "utter stupidity." [I'm too ignorant to be insulted.].

KeyZOid

Then you're on the wrong site and you should create your own site.

Bishop73

I'd like a second opinion.

KeyZOid

I'll give my opinion and I agree with Bishop73. This sounds more like a character exerting hubris than stupidity. If he sexually harassed an underling in front an attorney or a judge, or even other employees, then I think it would rise to the level of being a stupidity. The current President of the United States has openly admitted to sexually assaulting women, and he did so out of hubris because as he claims, his celebrity status gives him carte blanche to do so.

Phaneron

Sorry to say I concur with Bishop73, in that people do stupid things all the time in films, and we can't list them all! The stupidity section is just for plot-related issues - sort of "movie logic" things, like running upstairs in a horror film when they should run out the door. Yes people might do that in reality, which would be stupid, but they do it in a movie solely because it helps the plot / narrative. It's not strictly a plot hole, and it's arguably even a "mistake", which is why they're listed separately. In this case yes what he does is stupid, but it's a stupid thing which people in authority in reality do often, it's not solely an unreasonable or unlikely stupid action for the sake of the plot, if that makes sense. I've also realised that's not made clear when submitting a "stupidity", which is an oversight on my part - I'll amend that.

Countdown (2019)

Stupidity: Quinn wasn't able to kill Dr. Sullivan, so decided to kill herself to save her sister (by dying earlier and ending the curse). Instead of telling her younger (teenaged) sister about the Narcan and how to use it, she writes Narcan on her upper arm, assuming her sister will see it in time, know that there is a syringe in her pocket, and not hesitate to inject the Narcan. Quinn left too many steps up to chance and did not take the necessary precautions to help insure she could be revived. At the same time, a registered nurse - even a recent graduate - should know that this would not be the circumstances under which Narcan might be successful in counteracting the morphine. Taking time to say, "I love you, Jordan. I'll always be with you" was wasted time that should have been used giving her sister instructions because Quinn (erroneously) believed her plan would work. Countdown (2019)

Factual error: Narcan is an antidote to opiate overdose, but it is NOT an antidote to death, so the well-after-the-fact administration of Narcan would not enable Quinn to "rise from the dead." Under the right conditions, death can be prevented; life cannot be restored after being dead for too long. I'm no expert on Narcan, but it is my understanding that it can help restore breathing, not make a very dead person breath again. It must be administered in time, takes 2-3 minutes to work, and CPR should be given until the Narcan takes effect. Quinn was dead for too long to be revived like she was in the movie. (01:18:20)

Shopkeeper: There was a different house. Before that one.
Theo: What sort of house?
Shopkeeper: Just different. And before that, a tower.
Theo: A tower?
Shopkeeper: It's a legend. The devil builds the tower to collect souls, and God destroys it. But the devil builds it up again. And again. People have always stayed in that house. Some don't leave. The right ones usually find the place. Or perhaps it's the other way round. The place finds them.

Oscar: Apologize or get out.

Dreams don't make a lot of sense when you got two kids crying 'cause they're hungry and their dad just gambled away their supper money. We almost lost the house. I will be in debt for the rest of my life. He played grab ass with my clients so much that they didn't show up for their appointments after a while. I know you think that your dad was some kind of Prince Charming, but you are old enough to know that he was an asshole. Maybe I wasn't a good mom. Maybe these cigarettes messed with your noggin, but I do know... I do know I taught you the difference between right and wrong. I know I told you the difference between good and bad. We Die Young (2019)

Continuity mistake: The amount of blood on 10-year-old Miguel's face and neck after his "jump in" is not consistent. Sometimes there is more (or less) blood on his cheeks and neck and sometimes it appears splattered compared to large areas diluted with blood. The intensity/color of the blood also changes - sometimes it is very red but other times it is paler. The cut on his left eyebrow apparently was not on the far left corner yet sometimes the blood started there; other times, the blood started almost to the middle of his eyebrow. Sometimes he has blood below his eyebrow. Despite all the blood on his face and neck (down to the sagging T-shirt), there is no blood on his white or light grey T-shirt. He also does not get any blood on his jacket. Miguel was repeatedly punched then kicked by several large, muscular adult gang members for 13 seconds (to become a member of the MS-13 gang) but is unrealistically able to get right up then go and pick up and carry his dog - with no limping or signs of pain. Continuity mistake: When Kyle and Swin return to the parking lot after buying duct tape and encounter Pat, the way in which Kyle's long sleeves are rolled up (size/ length/neatness) varies. More often than not, his sleeves are rolled sloppily and sagging a couple inches below his elbows; the amount of wrinkling also varies. Other times, the rolls were neat, the same width, and the sleeves fell at or slightly above his elbows (suggesting they were recently/freshly rolled up). These variations were not due to merely "pushing up" his sleeves from time to time because neatly rolled and at or above the elbows followed sagging sleeves. (00:08:12)

The Silencing (2020)

Stupidity: Molly was being hunted and didn't know if she could trust Rayburn when he encountered her. Rayburn told Molly that he wanted to help, wouldn't hurt her, put a blanket around her, and even carried her in the woods for some distance. When he put her on the ground (along with his backpack and rifle) to go find the rope to open the pitfall doors and had his back turned, Molly got out from under the blanket and hid nearby. Rayburn quickly found Molly, and Molly made a lame attempt at attacking him with some kind of club. The next day when Rayburn and Molly were in Rayburn's house and her hunter showed up and attacked Rayburn, Molly grabbed Rayburn's rifle and fired several shots at the hunter. Molly obviously knew how to use a rifle, so it was asinine for her to have hidden from Rayburn the previously night without taking his rifle (or the blanket). (00:36:22)

Character mistake: Quinn told Dr. Sullivan there was "enough [morphine in the syringe] to kill you three times." If this was true (as opposed to Quinn just saying that as a scare tactic), her failure to take three vials of the antidote Narcan was a fatal error - and she only took one dose. Moreover, even if one dose was enough to counteract the morphine and get her to breathe normally, there was always a possibility that another dose or so can be needed. It is worth mentioning that it is quite a handy "coincidence" that vials of Narcan were readily available in the closed wing of the hospital. (01:12:28)
