Don't Tell a Soul (2020)

Stupidity: After stealing the candy tin full of money, Joey gave it to Matt. Standing in front of the house, Matt opened the tin to see all the cash ($12,600). Joey asked him if anyone saw him, and Matt replied, "No. Let's go before they do." Instead of "hiding" the candy tin in his backpack, Matt carried the tin out in the open - and soon ran into a man wearing a security guard uniform.

Don't Tell a Soul (2020)

Other mistake: In the opening scene where Joey is breaking into Ms. Dillard's house, he quickly smashed a window with his flashlight and immediately crawled through the window - without checking to see if shattered glass fragments were still in or around the frame. Despite his carelessness, he did not even get a cut on his hands or elsewhere, which would be almost impossible under the circumstances.

The Rental (2020)

Continuity mistake: Views of Michelle's car wreck were inconsistent. When the car veered to the right and was headed toward the tree, the driver's view showed most of the car was to the left of the tree trunk. On impact, it looked like the right side headlight hit the middle of the tree trunk. Michelle got out and a rear view showed the tree trunk roughly lined up with the steering wheel (i.e, more than half of the car was to the right of the trunk). After impact, both headlights were shining in front of the tree.

The Owners (2020)

Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, the blue car is parked on the far right of the screen or at least one car length from the doctor's front door. Dr. Huggins says goodbye to the couple with the baby, who walk toward their car. After the burglars-to-be (turned robbers) are shown watching from a distance, the camera returns to the doctor's front door. The blue car is now near the center of the screen and it drives away toward the right of the screen - going past the place it had been parked.

A.X.L. (2018)

Continuity mistake: A-X-L frequently varied in size. For example, sometimes its head looked massive compared to Miles, being about the size of Miles from his head to waist. Other times, A-X-L's head looked about twice the size of Miles' or Sara's head. A-X-L's body was sometimes about the same size of Miles' motorcycle but much larger other times. A-X-L looked much smaller when it was dragging Sam compared to when it was standing over Sam.

Synchronic (2019)

Stupidity: Steve wanted all the packets of "Synchronic" destroyed. He bought all that was available in the local store, but he merely placed the intact packets into his small garbage can (instead of flushing or destroying the contents).

Trivia: Seeing Bruce Willis all-but-naked riding a skateboard through the streets of Venice, California may or may not be amusing. While naked, he also hid a pistol between his buttocks when he had to raise his hands for the police.

A.X.L. (2018)

Stupidity: A-X-L was supposed to be a highly sophisticated and intelligent robotic dog yet it let Sam torch it (without even trying to back away from the flames) and let drones attack it on two separate occasions, each resulting in A-X-L being incapacitated. A-X-L also fell and rolled down a hill, smashing itself. An advanced machine should be able to stay upright! It also seems odd and out-dated that a robot would run on gasoline.

Greenland (2020)

Other mistake: Near the beginning of the movie, John's neighbor, Ed, is standing behind a wooden fence that is diagonal across the screen. The fence behind Ed is straighter. The angles of the fences indicate they are too close together - perpendicular sides of fences do not form a "V." Also, two BACK sides of fence are shown. Since Ed is within the fenced area, it is his (not John's) fence and the front ("good") side of the fence should be facing John's yard.

Revealing mistake: A "green screen" was obviously used at the restaurant (all-you-can-eat buffet). For example, the people supposedly seated in the booth behind Greg's mom were sometimes literally back-to-back with her - there was no back of the booth between them! They were also larger (closer).

Deliberate mistake: For an unknown amount of time during the family's four-day road trip, a Spanish tutorial cassette or CD was played. This would not be enough time for anyone to be able to fluently speak Spanish or carry on a conversation, but toddler Manny was able to do so near the end of the movie.

Rising Fear (2016)

Trivia: Specifically set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and filmed in and around the downtown area, many things stayed "as is." Some names were given slight modifications, such as Grant Street was "Grand Street" and KDKA TV/news became KDTA.

Rising Fear (2016)

Revealing mistake: Set in Pittsburgh, PA, scenes were obviously filmed out of sequence. Many scenes were "out of sync" with the snowfall, whether in progress or amount (if any) already accumulated. For example, there was no snow downtown, but views from the helicopter showed snow-cover around the nearby parkway (Route 376). In another scene, it was snowing when Ryan turned his Jeep into a downtown road that was covered with at least one inch of snow; switching to a "live" newscast, the sun was shining outside.

Revealing mistake: It was pouring when Adam, Hannah, and Megan got out of their SUV to talk to the Man and try to get help with the flat tire. As they stood there, no "rain" was hitting them and it became obvious that their partially wet-looking clothes were "pre-wet" - they returned to the SUV with the same amount of "wetness." Also, the rain was coming down in straight streams, all parallel. (The water flow appeared to be slightly angled to make the artificial "rain" look more natural).

Stupidity: Adam, Hannah, and Megan [sitting in SUV with flat tire] saw the Man flashing his headlights, getting out, kicking his own SUV and ranting while holding a machete. Instead of fleeing, they got out of their SUV and saw the Man was wearing a welder's mask. When they returned to their SUV, they didn't lock the doors. The Man ran over, pounded on the front passenger's window and then opened the door. He stabbed Adam 36? times while the two girls just sat there screaming and one said, "Please stop."

Synchronic (2019)

Continuity mistake: Packets of Synchronic were placed on top of the garbage already in the can and were inconsistent from one shot to another. Also, the amount of crumbled papers under the Synchronic decreased. (It is also interesting that no new garbage was placed in the can on top of the Synchronic packets even though over one day had passed).

Synchronic (2019)

Revealing mistake: The fire Steve made when he "traveled in time" back to the Ice Age was obviously fake (computer-generated). The logs were arranged like a teepee and the "fire" was contained to the inner sides - flames did not spread toward the outer edges. Moreover, the fire was built on top of snow/ice but there was no melting under or around the fire.

Other mistake: The "roach" Tim and Francis were to share with the magazine stand man had a length about equal to the width of the man's index finger. The man was able to hold it and take a drag without burning his fingers, but it would have been impossible for Tim and/or Francis to do the same - yet they managed to "get high."

Becky (2020)

Stupidity: Cole fell into the lake, and he said he couldn't swim. Instead of making any move to avoid being mangled by the boat motor Becky was aiming toward him, he just stayed in the same spot and was killed. Even if one cannot swim, it would be possible to hold one's breath under water for a while to escape the motor's range. It also seemed like he was close enough to the dock to simply lunge forward and grab onto it to stay afloat. Cole was close to the lake's edge - the water shouldn't be deep.
