The Mule (2018)

Trivia: "Tata" (Spanish) translates to dad or daddy. Leo Sharp, the real 90-year-old drug mule working for the Sinaloa Cartel, as well as Earl Stone [Clint Eastwood] in the movie, were called "El Tata." In some languages, "tata" translates to Grandpa.

The Mule (2018)

Trivia: A "drug mule" is a person who transports illegal drugs and is also known as a courier. The term typically refers to smuggling drugs across a border via swallowing them (such as in condoms) or by inserting them into a body cavity to avoid detection/arrest.

The Mule (2018)

Trivia: It might seem bizarre to make a movie about a 90-year-old drug mule (transporter), but "The Mule" is actually based on the true story of Leo Sharp who became known as the oldest drug mule in the U.S. Whereas Leo Sharp was a World War II veteran, Earl Stone in the movie was a Korean War veteran - and Clint Eastwood ("Earl") really did serve during the Korean War.

The Mule (2018)

Continuity mistake: Earl shoved the stacks of $100 bills back into the envelope and appeared to put the envelope back into the console with his right hand, but when the camera shifted, Earl was holding the envelope in his left hand with the stacks of $100 bills partially pulled out again. Earl put the envelope of money into the console a second time, but with his left hand. (00:36:05)

Girl, Interrupted (1999)

Factual error: Susanna dialed "O" and said, "Yes. I need an ambulance." A few seconds later, she said, "Daisy Randone. I think she killed herself" and then gave her address "23 Vicar Street." In that time period (1967-68), the Operator typically would have first asked what city and then connected the caller to the appropriate ambulance company OR the caller had to directly dial an ambulance. The city, phone number, and directions to the caller's house would have been requested. (01:33:10)

The Mule (2018)

Deliberate mistake: Earl attended the "2005 National Daylily Convention." The wording is not accurate, perhaps for purposes of brevity. There is no "National Daylily Society", but there is an "American Daylily Society." Likewise, there is no "National Daylily Convention", but there is a "National Convention for the Daylily Society." (Incidentally, the dates for 2022 are/were July 6 - 9). (00:03:43)

Stockholm (2018)

Trivia: Lars requested (demanded) a "Mustang [Boss] 302" from the police to flee the bank robbery. Lars did not specify what year, but 1969-1972 and, possibly, 1973 are relevant to the August 23, 1973 real-life incident. The Mustang 302 was blue and it might seem easy to identify its shade, but that's not the case. Historically, there have been almost 900 colors for the Mustang's paint and there are a variety of blues. "Grabber Blue" was popular when the Mustang 302 emerged, as was "Acapulco Blue."

Continuity mistake: In the vault scene arguing/fighting with Gunnar, Taj/Lars had a clump of hair sticking up in the middle of the top of his head during most front views, but not rear views. (01:03:10 - 01:04:11)

Factual error: "Polis" is written on two police vans outside the Stockholm bank Taj (Ethan Hawke) is robbing, but police in Sweden are "polismyndigheten" or commonly known as "polisen" (the police). The word "polis" actually means "city." Also, police in Sweden have traditionally used Volvo cars or wagons, not mini vans. (00:13:03)

Suggested correction: Actually all police cars in Sweden have the word "POLIS" on them.

Suggested correction: This is a picture from the event in the movie. Not just Volvos.

Run & Gun (2022)

Stupidity: Instead of Ray freeing himself before the Hangman comes to get him out of the bed of the truck or using his knife to stab the Hangman before he gets hung, Ray lets the Hangman hang him from a tree and knock over the ladder to strangle him. Ray dangles for almost a minute until he fakes his death and drops a fake Rolex, planning on slashing the Hangman's throat when he comes to pick up the watch. Ray, still dangling with the rope around his neck and a hood over his head, is also able to talk. (00:00:47 - 00:02:36)

Factual error: Rock Doves - even those used to people walking around in the city and on the sidewalks - would have flown away at the first sign of a predator, including a puppy - but they more or less ignored Clifford running toward them. (00:10:30)

Continuity mistake: The kitchen table centerpiece, a Lazy Susan-type bowl, was initially raised (about 2" with a visible shadow below) but was later flush with the table. The objects in the bowl also look different. (00:04:08 - 00:05:22)

Trivia: After the police arrived, Hayley told Sarah, "It is not my fault my parents put a LoJack in my car." LoJack is a high-tech GPS system and theft recovery device that can pinpoint a car's exact location. LoJack ended sales in the U.S. in 2021 (will not accept any new orders but will continue to service existing connected vehicles). (00:41:50)

Hunter's Moon (2020)

Trivia: The "Deception" bottle in the movie has been altered. "Honey Flavored Whiskey" (not just "Whiskey") should be written below "Deception." The movie version bottle also has Tennessee on it, but "Deception" is from Texas. A 750 ml bottle typically costs between $30 - $40 and is 40% ABC or 80 Proof. Some people refer to "Deception" as "Deception and vibe." (00:35:25)

Other mistake: From the time Eliza exits the bar until she drives away, there are discrepancies in the scenery: there are or aren't parking spaces along the road; there's a lot of space between her truck and the truck in the next parking space, but not when she's backing out; the man rattling bottles by the garbage cans is further from the building and her truck when she's getting in and should be visible when she's backing out but isn't; her truck's rear end would be partially blocking the traffic lane, etc. (00:03:15)

The Bouncer (2018)

Factual error: When Lukas takes Sarah to school (on Friday or only a couple days after taping his laceration), the laceration is much smaller (practically healed) and there are only three strips of tape. A laceration as wide as the one Lukas had would not heal within a couple, few, or even several days. Also, the way Lucas taped his laceration would not yield the same/similar results as sutures (even closure and faster healing with little scar). (00:15:43 - 00:16:31)
