Christine

George Thorogood's song "Bad to the Bone" is heard. On an automobile assembly line in Detroit, a red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury named Christine is built. Unknown to the workers, Christine is possessed by a supernatural evil entity. Her open engine hood slams down on the arm of one of the workers. Another worker (Art Evans) sits on the driver's side and mysteriously dies. Meanwhile, Arnie Cunningham (Keith Gordon) is being bullied at school by evil Buddy Repperton (William Ostrander) and his evil gang. Arnie works at Will Darnell's (Robert Prosky) auto garage. Arnie's best friend is Dennis Guilder (John Stockwell). Arnie and Dennis see Christine one day. They learn from George LeBay (Roberts Blossom) that his daughter mysteriously choked to death while sitting inside Christine once. Despite this horrible fact, Arnie buys Christine from George. As time goes on, the evil entity inside Christine causes Arnie to become obsessed with Christine. One night, Christine starts choking Arnie's girlfriend Leigh Cabot (Alexandra Paul) at a drive-in theater, but Leigh is saved by another man. Christine wants Arnie's complete attention and is jealous of his relationship with Leigh. Every time Christine is about to kill someone, she plays fifties songs on her radio. After Arnie leaves Christine in Darnell's auto garage for the night, Buddy and his gang sneak into the garage and brutally smash and trash Christine to cause Arnie emotional pain. Arnie later watches Christine rebuild herself back to normal. The next night, Christine (playing "Little Bitty Pretty One" on the radio) chases Buddy's friend Moochie Welch (Malcolm Danare) down an alley, traps him in front of a truck delivery grate and ultimately kills him by crushing him against the grate. Christine later hunts down Buddy and the rest of his friends at their gas station to get revenge. Christine smashes into Buddy's car, causing a gas leak. While Buddy escapes down the road, the gas station explodes, killing the remaining gang members. On fire herself, Christine slowly chases Buddy down the road, slowly running him over and causing his dead body to burn up. Christine returns to the auto garage and Darnell, shocked to find no-one driving Christine, gets in the driver's seat. Christine plays "Bony Moronie" on the radio and kills Darnell by pushing the seat up against the steering wheel, cutting off his breathing. Eventually, Dennis and Leigh are unsuccessful in getting through to Arnie, who is now evil and completely under the evil entity's control. Dennis and Leigh lure Christine and Arnie to the garage, where Arnie is killed during the battle against Christine. Dennis and Leigh use a Caterpillar to ultimately crush Christine and deliver her to the junkyard. A piece of Christine's metal moves, indicating that the evil entity will once again cause Christine to put herself back together. "Bad to the Bone" plays during the end credits.

Plot hole: George Lebay says that his brother died "6 weeks ago" inside Christine and that's why he's selling it. Later that evening after Arnie leaves his house and goes to Darnell's, Will Darnell says he "knew a guy who owned a car like that" and "the bastard killed himself in it." If it's only been 6 weeks since his death, shouldn't Darnell have recognized the car? It's not like there were lots of red Plymouth Furies (custom order color) running around the small town, let alone the USA, even in 1978. (Also considering how production even had a hard time finding them for the movie).

Suggested correction: He says he knew a guy with a car like that. It doesn't have to be the same colour or even the same generation. Just a Plymouth Fury.

Darnell basically said he knew THE brother of Lebay, not just some guy who owned a similar car. Darnell described Lebay's brother based on the story. Again, it was him, not just some other guy.
