Factual error: When Venonat uses Stun Spore, Ash tells Bulbasaur to use Whirlwind. Bulbasaur just blows the powder away with his mouth, but he doesn't use the Whirlwind attack. He can't learn Whirlwind in any of the games, and what Whirlwind is supposed to do is to blow the opposing Pokemon away. Ash could have just as easily told Bulbasaur to blow it away, but he instead chose to tell him to use a move that he can't possibly learn. The only Pokemon that can learn Whirlwind are either Flying types or Bug types; i.e., Pokemon with wings (with the exception of Makuhita and Hariyama, which weren't introduced until generation III, and did not exist at the time this episode aired). In The School of Hard Knocks (Season 1, Episode 9), a character mentions information regarding a Pokemon's levels, attacks, and information which is taken straight out of the game, so it's very clear that Bulbasaur should not be able to use Whirlwind. [This is a result of mistranslation. In the original, Japanese version Ash orders Bulbasaur to "blow it away." He didn't say Whirlwind. Still a mistake in the English version.]

Factual error: When Kyle and Kerry go to the arcade, they look around to see which game they want to play. Kyle suggests the dancing game, which, although the name is not displayed, is Dance Dance Revolution. The current screen is the song select, which only appears after a token has been inserted and the game has started. It takes at least two presses of the start button to get to that screen, yet Kyle still feels the need to insert a token for some reason. Also, although this is trivial, the difficult setting on which they play is Beginner, which is laughably easy and doesn't require any of the theatrical dance moves that Kyle and Kerry perform.

Audio problem: In the second scene when Pete hits the sword wielding man with the shield, we hear the sound effect, but he misses by an incredible amount of distance.

Revealing mistake: The way Jerry comes into play is problematic. He is shown coming up from the bottom of the room where Kate has just met Sasha. He appears to be climbing upwards, which suggests that the gravity in the room that he is leaving is the same as the one that he is entering. However, the way that he positions his body around the square opening doesn't make sense. He turns around to see the girls. At this point, it would be very difficult for him to stay up, because he no longer has support like he did when he first came up. This shows that the actor was standing on something.

Continuity mistake: When we first see the colonel, he grabs the suitcase to examine it. In the far shot, you can see that the handcuffs are on the far side of the handle, near his body. The next shot is a closeup of the suitcase, and the handcuffs are now on the opposite side of the handle, away from his body.

Other mistake: In the second scene, where we see the colonel, he is looking through a door to another room. After the door closes, we see that he was looking down, into the room below. Other mistake: This occurs during the scene where the group has just rescued the colonel. Before Mrs. Paley makes her appearance, the others notice the panel opening, and make movements, but they don't make sense. We'll call the side where the colonel was the north. Sasha is in the southwest corner, and Max is near her. Simon and Jerry are both at the north wall. When the sound of the door opening is heard, Max looks to the west. Simon is kind of in a strange position, but looks correctly to the north, where Mrs. Paley comes from. Simon and Jerry both knew where to look before the door opened, so it's reasonable to assume that it's easy to tell which door is opening, so Max shouldn't have looked at any other door.

What should have happened was the same thing that happened when another ghost took over a recently deceased person, which happened in a previous episode. The dead body would decay and start to lose function. Sam's body suddenly gaining back the properties of life is completely inconsistent with what we're led to believe in the setting of the show.

It is also clear that the shot is done with the camera right-side up since Kay is in the driver's seat, which, right-side up, would be on the left, but since the car is upside down, he's on the right, which is seen when he inserts the tape.
