Factual error: Raj and Sheldon are watching TV in Raj's apartment and we hear music playing. Sheldon asks if the woman on TV was Aishwarya Rai to which Raj says yes and then they argue about her and Madhuri Dixit. The song playing was from the Bollywood movie Kaho Na Pyar Hai, but neither of them are in the movie - the lead actress was Ameesha Patel. (00:14:50)
Character mistake: At the very beginning of the episode Leonard says "So you see what you're eating is not technically yogurt because it doesn't have enough live active acidophilus cultures." He is implying this is a scientific fact (he's not just giving his opinion on yogurt.) But to meet the U.S. standards for yogurt, only the starter cultures Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus are required, not Lactobacillus acidophilus. The presence or absence of L. acidophilus does NOT determine a food's identity as yogurt (which Leonard's line is implying). (00:00:05)
The Barbarian Sublimation - S2-E3
Revealing mistake: When Sheldon gets the sword for Penny in the game, Penny walks out and you can see the laptop isn't switched on. (00:07:55)
The Maternal Capacitance - S2-E15
Character mistake: Leonard has his phone on his left ear. Sheldon says "Since ears don't cross hemispheres..." This is an error. The vast majority of the input to the left (or right) ear crosses over to the opposite hemisphere.
Character mistake: When Sheldon arrives at the apartment with his Nintendo 64 in the box, he tells Leonard that they can play Super Mario 64. He then proceeds to say, upon finding a memory card, that they can pick up where he left off. Super Mario 64 does not make use of the memory card for progression, all of that data was saved on the cartridge. (00:07:25)
Continuity mistake: In the laundry room when Penny is talking to Sheldon, Sheldon takes some time arranging a blue shirt on his plastic laundry folder. Then it suddenly turns into a pair of socks, which he folds and then picks up the blue shirt again. There was not enough time for him to switch out the shirt for the socks. (00:06:30)
The Cushion Saturation - S2-E16
Factual error: Leslie Winkle takes shelter with Howard in the middle of a paintball game. Her gun has no hopper for paintballs and thus no ammo, so it's useless, despite her apparently using it outside seconds earlier. This isn't a model with an internal magazine - the port to attach the missing hopper is plainly visible.
The Vartabedian Conundrum - S2-E10
Continuity mistake: When Leonard and Penny are talking in the dryer room, the size of the towel Penny is folding keeps changing. (00:15:00)
The Dead Hooker Juxtaposition - S2-E19
Continuity mistake: In the scene after the boys have followed the new neighbor out and Sheldon and Penny are left eating alone, the utensils Penny holds change from chopsticks to a plastic fork and back several times.
The Financial Permeability - S2-E14
Continuity mistake: When the guys are using the whiteboard to figure out their cinema plans, Sheldon draws two black X's on the board with a marker. In the following shots the appearance of the X's changes. (00:00:30)
The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis - S2-E11
Continuity mistake: When Sheldon emerges with all of the bath item gift baskets for Penny, he drops them on the floor and chair. Between shots one of the baskets on the chair changes from being an upright green-ribboned basket, to a toppled-over white-ribboned basket. (00:19:50)
The Lizard-Spock Expansion - S2-E8
Continuity mistake: When the guys are in the Mars Rover test room, the time displayed on the large digital clock seen behind Howard jumps about inconsistently between each shot. (00:07:50)
The White Asparagus Triangulation - S2-E9
Continuity mistake: When Sheldon is in Penny's apartment trying to get her to tell him why her relationship with Leonard failed, the yellow tee-shirt on the red pillow next to him keeps changing position.
The Barbarian Sublimation - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: When Penny sneaks into Sheldon's room at night to ask him about the online game, she leaves his bedroom door half open. But when she leaves, the door is shut. (00:07:35)
The Barbarian Sublimation - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: After Penny drops her bags of groceries whilst trying to unlock her door, the dropped items change their positions between shots (note the items against the wall.) (00:02:05)
The White Asparagus Triangulation - S2-E9
Continuity mistake: When Sheldon, Raj and Howard are talking in the cafeteria, Sheldon's drink keeps moving position.
The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis - S2-E11
Continuity mistake: Near the start, when the camera is on Raj, David Underhill is seen in the top left-hand corner of the screen shaking someone's hand, already in the cafeteria. Then, when the camera is on Wolowitz, David is just walking into the door of the cafeteria. David sits down to the right of the man sitting at the table, then shortly afterwards David is now sitting where the other guy was, originally.
The Griffin Equivalency - S2-E4
Continuity mistake: When discussing what qualities their new friend should have, the container Howard has changes position instantly. (00:17:20)
The Griffin Equivalency - S2-E4
Continuity mistake: When talking about wanting a griffin, the bottles and strip of paper on the table keep moving between shots. (00:16:00)
Continuity mistake: When Sheldon is sitting with Raj in his apartment watching television, the can of soda on the table in front of him rotates itself a couple of times. (00:14:40)
Chosen answer: It does. The variable cleanliness of the cab and the habit of taxi drivers to engage customers in small talk would be too much for Sheldon to handle, and not an option for him.
