Continuity mistake: When Moore is speaking with Eugene about where Gwan-su has gone, in the shot where he says "I need go buy something and I haven't seen him around", the gat (smoking pipe) that Moore is holding is upright, then when the shot cuts, it is tilted to the right. (00:33:50)

Continuity mistake: At the poker match, in the close-up of Ae-sun placing the two playing cards on the table, both cards are positioned at a rotated angle. When she attempts to reach for the money in the next shot, the cards are at a straight angle. (00:19:20)

Audio problem: When Dong-mae and his men leave after searching the house, Su-mi is still holding onto the baby after leaving. The baby is heard crying, but there is a brief moment where she shakes her to calm him down, and we can see the baby's eyes when she does so. In the brief instance where we see the baby's eyes, she does not appear to be crying, indicating that the crying sounds were dubbed in afterwards. (00:45:05)

Continuity mistake: When Ae-sin tells the peddler that the broach collection is lovely, the peddler says "You are a bad liar", and pulls her hand away from the small table. Continuity mistake: When the soldiers enter the room after shooting Ae-sin's mother, she is shown lying on the floor. She then turns around and shoots one of soldiers whilst lying on the floor, but when the second soldier shoots her, she is suddenly standing up. (00:58:25)

Continuity mistake: When Lord Kim shoots Yu-jin's father with an arrow, in the shot where the father dies, the rug that he is wrapped up in has no visible blood stains. When it cuts to a different angle, there is suddenly a blood stain on the rug. (00:17:41)

Trivia: Daily Mail journalist Frederick McKenzie takes a photo of the Righteous Army, which is stated to be the only existing photo of Korea's freedom fighters. This photo is a direct recreation of a real-life photo of the Righteous Army, taken by Frederick McKenzie (who was a real-life war journalist) and is to date, the only existing photo of Korea's freedom fighters. Continuity mistake: Eugene finds the list of Righteous Army members, folds it up and puts it in his jacket pocket. In the shot of him putting the list in his pocket, both his left hand (holding onto the jacket) and his right hand (putting the list into his pocket) are level with each other. In the next shot, someone walks into the room and his hands don't change position. When the shot cuts back to Eugene, his left hand is much lower down than the right. (00:02:25)

Revealing mistake: When Ms. Haman is shot by the soldiers, the moment that the gunshot that hits her is heard, and she is shot, there is already a massive, thick blood stain on her dress from where she is bleeding from. No gunshot wound on the planet can create an amount of blood that massive or thick in an instant. The blood stain was likely applied to her dress before filming the shot. (01:17:52)

Continuity mistake: When the general shoots the elderly rebel, there is a huge blood stain left on his clothes where the left-hand side of his upper chest is located. When he collapses on the ground in the next shot, the blood stain has suddenly disappeared from his clothing. (01:13:23)

Continuity mistake: Eugene is leaving the American legation in Japan by sitting on the back of a truck. In the shot of him sitting down, the bottom of his jacket can be seen going over the side of the truck (positioned behind him). When the truck starts to drive away a few seconds later, the bottom of his jacket is now shown hanging over the back of the truck (positioned to the side of him). (00:12:51)

Factual error: Eugene is given a return order from the President telling him to return to America. The name of the President listed on the order is Franklin D. Roosevelt, but he did not become President until 1933. In 1904, when the episode takes place, Theodore Roosevelt was the President. (01:08:16)

Plot hole: At the end of the previous episode, Ms. Haman is shot by a Japanese soldier. The shot is severe enough to make her collapse to the ground and fall unconscious. But in this episode, she appears perfectly fine without any sign of being shot, and without any injury in sight. (00:07:30)

Continuity mistake: When Hina is sword fighting with the Japanese soldier, and he slips over, in the overview shot, he is shown dropping his sword. When they go to help him up a few seconds later, the sword is now in his hand. (00:16:48)

Factual error: Joseph is given an American military funeral. The coffin, when placed in the ground, is shown with an American flag placed on top of it. Eugene sprinkles some soil over the coffin (with the flag on top of it), however burial flags are always removed prior to the actual burial, folded and then handed to the next of kin, so the soil he sprinkled would not be included in the actual burial.
