Grave Risk: Part 1 - S1-E27

Character mistake: The episode opens late at night when Syrus overhears Banner on a call where he discusses burying Jaden alive. The next morning is a classroom scene where Banner says the field trip will take place on Saturday at 7am, and the next scene shows Jaden, Syrus, Chumley and Alexis outside the school at 7am waiting for Banner to arrive. In this scene, Syrus tells Jaden he heard Banner talk about burying Jaden alive the previous night, but by this point, at least two nights must have passed. (00:03:48)

The Little Belowski - S1-E23

Stupidity: When Jaden is preparing for the school duel, Syrus, Chumley, Alexis and Bastion approach him with cards that he could use for the duel. Syrus offers Power Bond, however, this card can only summon Machine-type Fusion monsters, and Jaden doesn't have any Machine-type Fusion monsters in his deck, making this card useless to him. The Duel Off: Part 1 - S1-E21

Other mistake: When Jaden switches Oxygeddon to Defence Mode after using Spark Blaster, a display appears which shows the monster's defence points. However, the word ATK (meaning attack points) is shown on the display, even though it should read DEF (defence points) as the monster is currently in Defence Mode. (00:14:56)

The Maiden in Love - S1-E20

Continuity mistake: After Jaden realises Blair is a girl, there is a shot of Zane's room from above where Blair starts to run away. In this shot, some of Zane's cards can be seen on the floor after they were dropped. A couple seconds later, when Zane looks at the floor, the cards are now in different positions. (00:04:47)

Nature of the Draw - S1-E17

Continuity mistake: Whilst everyone is waiting for the sandwich thief to arrive, Jaden and Syrus are playing cards. After Jaden correctly guesses Syrus' card, Syrus says "Picking cards, drawing cards, amazing", and has his right hand ahead of his left hand. When the shot cuts, his left hand is suddenly ahead of his right hand. (00:03:07)

Tag Team Trial: Part 2 - S1-E11

Stupidity: After Jaden summons EH Tempest, he also activates the field spell Skyscraper. This means that Tempest gains 1000 attack points (going from 2800 to 3800) when it attacks Dark Guardian (whose attack points are 3800). Since Dark Guardian can't be destroyed by battle, Jaden sacrifices a card to keep Tempest on the field. What was Jaden expecting? He already knew about Dark Guardian's effect, and there would've been no life point damage, so this attack wouldn't have benefited him in any way.

Tag Team Trial: Part 2 - S1-E11

Stupidity: After Jaden summons Elemental Hero Sparkman to the field, he also activates the spell card Spark Blaster, which he equips to Sparkman so that it can change any monster on the field in attack mode to defence mode. He decides to switch Gate Guardian to defence mode, however, he could have also switched Defence Wall to attack mode as well. Then he would've been able to have Sparkman attack Defence Wall, and it would have been destroyed since it has 0 attack points.

For the Sake of Syrus - S1-E8

Character mistake: When Chumley falls off the tree and his cards fall on the ground, Jaden picks up one and comments "There's like, a zillion koala cards down here" when he looks at it. However, all the other cards on the ground are face down and he only looked at one card, so there would be no way for him to know if there were a lot of koala cards. (00:03:58)

Duel and Unusual Punishment - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: After Syrus' life points go down to 2600, Jaden places a card face down. The card is positioned directly behind Elemental Hero Avian. But a minute later, after a brief conversation between Chumley and Alexis, the face down card is now more to the left and is positioned in between Elemental Heroes Avian and Sparkman. Hanekuribô no kiseki - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: Jaden activates the spell card Mirage of Nightmare, and then places two cards face down. Later in the scene, Jaden activates the trap card Mirror Force, so when that leaves the field, only one other card is face down on Jaden's side of the field (not counting Mirage of Nightmare). But a couple of seconds later, when the Shadow Duelist brings Terrorking Archfiend back to the field, Jaden has three face-down cards, even though he should only have one card face down and one card already activated. Yami no dêmon dekki - S1-E5

Revealing mistake: After the Shadow Duelist summons Infernal Queen Archfiend, Jaden says, "An Archfiend monster?" and the shot cuts back to the Shadow Duelist saying with that card on the field, every monster with Archfiend in its name gain 1000 attack points. In this shot, take note of the cards he is holding in his hand. He only appears to be holding onto two of the cards, but every other card in his hand appears to be held perfectly fine despite him not holding onto them. (00:12:41)

Revealing mistake: When the duel begins, the Shadow Duelist goes first. He has five cards in his left hand and draws a sixth card from his deck. He then places the sixth card next to the fifth card, and then picks up the fifth card in his hand, but the sixth card remains in the same position, without its position being affected by the fifth card being picked up. Revealing mistake: When Jaden says he's started hearing voices again, it cuts to a close-up of a flashback showing Jaden holding the Winged Kuriboh card. The shot appears to be flipped as the LIGHT symbol on the card, as well as the illustration of the card is reversed, compared to every other time this card is shown. (00:03:20)
