This moment from the shot is an homage to the cover from part 7 of the Marvel Civil War comic storyline, where Captain America and Iron Man are fighting on the front cover in the same way. Continuity mistake: When the military police are looking through the detectives' bags, one of them finds a bag that Thomson and Thompson assume to be the secret documents. The man begins to shake it and diamonds fall out. In the first shot of the diamonds falling out, as the shot ends, two diamonds are in the man's hand, followed by a third diamond falling out. The shot cuts and there are suddenly five diamonds in the man's hand, followed by a sixth diamond that falls out. (00:08:15)

Two of the four men are kneeling beside the pipe, one on the front side wearing a brown cloak and green clothing and one on the opposite side wearing grey clothing planting the explosive in the pipe. Throughout the entirety of this shot, the colour of the blanket on Mueller's horse constantly flickers between several frames. As Mueller gets off the horse, the blanket is dark teal, then Mueller hands the rein to his horse to Tintin and the blanket suddenly flickers to dark orange and also dark teal near the bottom. Plot hole: Thomson and Thompson fall asleep whilst driving their jeep and are arrested because whilst they were asleep, they drove into and damaged several people's markets and as well as driving into the wall of a building. Although the decision to arrest them would seem normal due to the vandalism, it does not make sense why both of the detectives would have gotten arrested. Even if they both fell asleep at the wheel, only one of the detectives was actually responsible for the vandalism caused by this. (00:19:00)

Other mistake: After Manolo has told Haddock that the windows don't open, Manolo goes to leave and slips on a banana placed in the doorway. The banana's position in the doorway would not be possible. The banana landed on the floor after Haddock fell over the table in the hotel room and spilled the contents of the fruit bowl all of the room and then Manolo entered the room a second later. When Manolo opened the door, he would have pushed anything in front of the door out of the way. (00:10:25)

Continuity mistake: Whilst Tintin and Haddock are discussing how to escape the hotel, a record player is playing so no-one who is watching the conversation can hear them. When Pablo arrives with the drinks and sets them on the table, the record player is visible in the background and not moving, though the music is still heard. Pablo then goes to turn up the music, and the record player is suddenly moving again. (00:12:40)

Revealing mistake: When Haddock walks in view of the helicopter pilot, it cuts to an interior shot of the helicopter where the pilot says "What's that? A Picaro by the river?" A couple of shots after this, there is another interior shot of the helicopter where the pilot then says "Caramba. He's disappeared." In both of the two interior shots, it is noticeable that the same footage has been used in both the shots as the exact same land is outside the helicopter is in both of the shots. The only difference in the second shot is that Haddock has been removed. (00:26:20)

Plot hole: When the helicopter flies over the jungle, Haddock inadvertently walks in view of the helicopter and the pilot of the helicopter notices him, assuming it to be a Picaro. Haddock then trips into the river, but despite being watched by the pilot of the helicopter the entire time, the helicopter pilot doesn't notice him falling into the river and instead assumes he just disappeared. Other mistake: When Haddock is in the lake, he is sinking, struggling to stay above the water and the water is even going up to his neck area.
