Revealing mistake: Whilst discussing Marik with Ishizu, there is a wide shot of the bedroom where Joey says, "What if it's too late to save Marik from the evil that's inside of him?" In this shot, there is an animation error with Serenity's head. Serenity has her head turned to face Ishizu, but the turned head appears to have been poorly pasted over another version of Serenity's head that is facing directly forwards. (00:04:44)

Continuity mistake: Marik picks up the Millennium Ring and raises it to be level with his face. Yugi then walks up to Marik, and the Millennium Ring cannot be seen anywhere near his face. Continuity mistake: When Kaiba is on his computer and discovers the Winged Dragon of Ra's secret special power, there is an image of the Winged Dragon of Ra card on his monitor screen. A rectangular white box appears on the monitor, covering the bottom right corner of the dragon card. Continuity mistake: When Mokuba is working at the computer, he looks at a monitor displaying Kaiba and Ishizu's duel. There is a white box shown at the left and right hand of the screen where the players' life points are displayed. In the next shot, Mokuba stands up to leave, and the two white boxes displaying the life points are suddenly blank. (00:04:32)

Other mistake: Kaiba activates the spell card Shrink, which halves his monster Vorse Raider's attack points. When the attack point display appears, it begins counting down from 1950 (even though Vorse Raider has 1900), and the attack points lower to 950 (which is 1000 points). Technically, the attack points were right to go down to 950 because Vorse Raider does have 1900 attack points, but the display was wrong to show 1950 attack points. (00:13:10)
Continuity mistake: When Marik puts Joey under a mind control spell, Mai says, "What did you do to him, Marik?" whilst Marik walks over to her. When she starts asking the question, her head is facing down towards the ground and her back is hunched. But in the next shot, her head is raised and her back is straight. (00:16:27)
Continuity mistake: Marik uses his monster cards Holding Arms and Holding Legs to hold Mai against a wall. When she hits the wall, she drops a trap card that is held in her hand. The card cannot be seen on the ground every other time the area is shown after this. (00:07:38)
Revealing mistake: When Marik attacks Mai with Holding Arms and Holding Legs, the cards in his hand are missing the illustrations. (00:07:24)
