The Simpsons

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: While Bart is watching TV, Homer comes home, and Bart is holding a bottle. He never had it when he came into the living room. (00:12:15 - 00:13:35)

Yoshi

Correction: Given Bart's powers in this episode he could easily have made a bottle appear. A more mundane explanation is that Lisa or Marge brought it to him, there was more than enough time.

The Otto Show - S3-E22

Corrected entry: When Otto plays Bart's guitar for the first time on the bus, it generates an amazing electric sound, but it isn't even plugged into an amp.

Correction: That's the joke.

Brush With Greatness - S2-E18

Corrected entry: When Homer gets stuck in the water slide, a few kids are sent down to dislodge him, and they get stuck too. However, when the section of pipe containing him is removed later, the kids are nowhere to be seen.

Correction: They were able to pull the kids back up the slide, since they weren't wedged in the pipe like Homer was.

Show generally

Corrected entry: In "Boy Scoutz 'N The Hood", Springfield is on the east coast of the US. However, later in "Simpson Tide", it's on the west coast.

Correction: It is never mentioned where Springfield is. Several references are made but the producers want to keep people guessing so it is not really a mistake.

William Bergquist

Moaning Lisa - S1-E6

Corrected entry: During dodgeball, either Sheri or Teri is one of the kids throwing balls at Lisa. Only problem is, she is in Bart's class, not Lisa's.

Correction: It is quite possible that they have dodgeball at the same time.

Chaz1003

Strong Arms of the Ma - S14-E9

Corrected entry: Homer has to play Tetris to get all of the garage-sale items to fit into the station wagon, and even then he can't fit himself in. Yet when they arrive back at the house, everyone has a comfortable amount of room.

Matty Blast

Correction: This is a joke -- showing how Tetris is like filling a car with objects.

The Telltale Head - S1-E8

Corrected entry: When Bart is about to bury the statue's head he says "ohhh" but his lips do not move.

Correction: Your lips don't have to move to say "ooooh" the way he was. It was more of a groan than anything else.

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Corrected entry: When we see the outside of Fiesta Terrace, it is a reused shot from 'Life on the Fast Lane'.

OL1V3R666

Correction: Not a mistake, unless there's anything contradicting continuity in that shot.

Homer the Vigilante - S5-E11

Corrected entry: When we see the outside of Herman's weapon shop, it appears to be a reused shot from Season 1.

Correction: Not a mistake, unless there's anything contradicting continuity in that shot.

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: When Homer says "Ooo, that's a lot of money" at Smithers near the beginning, the background is very different, and doesn't go with the scene. (00:02:45)

Yoshi

Correction: It does look slightly different but it is a different angle and we see the entrance to the cafeteria, which could easily have a vending machine outside so it makes sense.

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: When Mr. Burns says "That's one big check," the red chair he was just sitting in has vanished. (00:10:15)

Yoshi

Correction: The shot changes to an overhead one where the red chair could easily be still there but just out of shot.

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: When Homer gets in the car and watches Mr. Burns on television, the lunch box he was just carrying has vanished. (00:07:30)

Yoshi

Correction: He could easily have placed it on the ground.

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: When Homer hangs up on his stockbroker, the candy bar in Homer's right hand has disappeared. (00:03:40)

Yoshi

Correction: The hand holding the candy bar is out of shot during most of the conversation between Homer and his stockbroker so he had more than enough time to put it down.

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk - S3-E11

Corrected entry: In the original version (released on DVD), when Homer puts his dollar bill in the vending machine, a little bit of the screen is cut off on the left side. (00:02:15)

Yoshi

Correction: It all looks OK to me on my DVD.

Bart vs. Australia - S6-E16

Corrected entry: In this episode Marge flies to Australia in a plane. Doesn't she have a fear of flying?

OL1V3R666

Correction: Yes, but in the episode where her phobia was first introduced, she was also seen to overcome her fear through therapy. Lots of people have fear of flying and still manage to keep it in check when they have to.

Dancin' Homer - S2-E5

Corrected entry: In this episode Mr Bruns has a big tub of beer with Homer, but in "Homer the Smithers" Mr Burns is drinking beer from a spoon as if he had never tried it before.

OL1V3R666

Correction: After sipping the beer he says "Smithers, this beer isn't working. I don't feel any younger or funkier." Simply put its the joke, that somehow Burns thought a simple spoonful of beer would somehow change him so dramatically.

Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment - S2-E13

Corrected entry: When Homer is browsing the channels he says "seen it" to all of them. One of them is a non-violent Itchy & Scratchy episode as seen in "Itchy & Scratchy & Marge" (we don't see it but we can hear it). One says "Lemonade", and then Itchy (I think) instantly says "Please". But when you see the episode in "Itchy & Scratchy & Marge" there is a short break between their sayings. This was done on purpose to reduce time.

OL1V3R666

Correction: Like any television show, its prone to small edits by the network showing it to save time. Also since we don't see enough (or hear enough) of it we don't know they were showing the entire cartoon. It may have been a quick clip of the show like they do for news clips or tv ads.

Trilogy of Error - S12-E18

Corrected entry: When Milhouse says that he goes to his secret place to cry Bart says, "I didn't know you cried". But in "Bart's Friend Falls in Love", Bart says that he sees Milhouse cry on various occasions.

Correction: Bart doesn't say "I didn't know you cried", he just says "Cool". Even if he had said that its a character mistake not a mistake on the show.

Mr. Spritz Goes to Washington - S14-E14

Corrected entry: If the airport changed the location of its fly zone, wouldn't the town be informed about this or at least place notices on the doors of peoples' houses?

Correction: Thats not a mistake, its just an example of how poorly run the mayor's office is. It could also be that the mayor's decision wouldn't go down well with the townspeople (as evidenced with the Simpsons). Keeping it secret until the law was passed would make it harder to have reversed.

Mr. Plow - S4-E9

Corrected entry: When Barney is chasing his diaper, he turns a corner and sees his mother. However, in another episode, he says that his mother lives in Norway, which would mean that he would probably know if his mother was coming.

Correction: When Barney turns the corner he says "Hi Mum". Its presumptious to say he wouldn't know his mother was coming in from Norway or didn't know she was coming. We don't know Barney's schedule or what was going on in his life at this time. All we really know was he was down on his luck in the episode.

The Simpsons mistake picture Video

Show generally

Continuity mistake: This is a mistake for the introduction from seasons 2-20 (1991-2009). When Homer screams, he turns round. You see this in a wide shot. There are no boxes to the right of the door in the garage. However, two just appear out of thin air when he runs through the garage. (00:01:50)
