The Simpsons

Krusty Gets Busted - S1-E12

Corrected entry: During the trial, the prosecutor shows the court several betting slips that Krusty's used. Right before this, Krusty revealed he couldn't read or write - how would Krusty have known what to write on the slips?

DaveJB

Correction: The betting slips could simply be the records that the betting agency took down of Krusty when he bet on events (e.g. In Lisa the Greek Krusty phones in his bet to Moe on the football and tells him to record a bet for Sideshow Mel).

Stark Raving Dad - S3-E1

Corrected entry: After Marge finds out that Bart didn't watch Maggie, she spits her pacifier at him. In the very next shot her pacifier is back in her mouth. (00:02:25)

Yoshi

Correction: Almost every other show it is demonstrated that Maggie has hundreds of pacifiers available to her. She spits one out, and she gets another one. That's just what happend here.

King-Size Homer - S7-E7

Corrected entry: Homer weighs 239lbs and has to gain 61 pounds. But when he has gained his 61 pounds, plus 15lbs extra, Homer looks double his original size. It is very doubtful he would look that much fatter from gaining just 76 odd lbs.

Hamster Premium member

Correction: Wrong. Every ounce he gains is fat, and ironically human fat is fairly light. A lot of the 239 pounds of original Homer would be muscle (very heavy) and bone (moreso), and he wouldn't gain any of those from a bad diet. So, a 239 pound man gaining 76 pounds of fat would hugely increase his bulk, just like we see.

Show generally

Corrected entry: No matter what happens to the Simpsons' car(s) in an episode, whether they are damaged, crushed, shot with a gun or misused in someway they are always back the way they were originally in the following show.

Tobin OReilly

Correction: The Simpsons doesn't flow from one episode to another. The treehouse has been broken. The house has been lit on fire. A lot of the characters die in the Halloween episodes, but they always come back.

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: Krusty tells the monkey to wait in the car. However, when Krusty leaves, he has no car. (00:05:55 - 00:11:30)

Yoshi

Correction: "Go wait in the car" is a common form of dismissal in the film/t.v. industry - it means "sod off", words to that effect. No car is involved.

Saturdays of Thunder - S3-E9

Corrected entry: Why would the audience NOT notice that Nelson was given a knife by his friends? (00:13:40)

Yoshi

Correction: Even if they did see, why would they care? Knives aren't illegal and for all they knew, the knife could have been his to begin with.

Bart the Murderer - S3-E4

Corrected entry: If Seymour was trapped under papers, wouldn't his mother set him free somehow? (00:19:15)

Yoshi

Correction: If the police couldn't find or hear him despite being in the garage then she would most likely not hear him either.

The Old Man and the C Student - S10-E20

Corrected entry: Homer flushes his springs one by one and sings a parody of "10 green bottles", but with flushing springs. He goes from 999 to 996 but doesn't flush the toilet enough times to get to that number.

Dan Moat

Correction: While Homer is flushing the springs, it goes to Marge at the door. Homer must then put in more than one spring, then start singing again.

Like Father, Like Klown - S3-E6

Corrected entry: In Krusty's story, when he's doing his performance with balloons on the stage, we can see Krusty's father in the background, watching and clapping at Krusty. (00:09:10)

Yoshi

Correction: His father didn't know that it was his son until the other Rabbi sprayed him with the seltzer, washing off Krusty's makeup.

Show generally

Corrected entry: Homer and Marge in most episodes say that they had Bart in high school, but they're 38 and Bart's 10. As stupid as Homer is, I doubt he was in high school at 28.

Matthew Gem Premium member

Correction: They didn't have Bart in school. Marge and Homer didn't even hook up until The Prom, and he was in the workplace by the time Bart came along (you can see Homer coming home from work, singing "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" in an early episode when Bart was young).

SexyIrishLeprechaun

Bart Carny - S9-E12

Corrected entry: The Simpsons arrive back at their house and discover that the 2 carnival workers they let live with them have boarded up every window and way into the house. However, when they are in the tree-house, you can see the windows on the upper-floor have remained un-boarded.

Correction: We never actually see the back of the house when the Simpsons arrive so we can't safely assume that it's all boarded up. More importantly perhaps, we don't see the back of the house until several hours later, so it's quite possible they simply took the boards off.

David Mercier

Smart and Smarter - S15-E13

Corrected entry: Lisa says her IQ is 159, but in "Homer's Enemy," we are told it's 156. Lisa hasn't aged in 15 years so it won't have changed. More likely to be writers not remembering what they have said before.

David Mercier

Correction: IQ measurement is not exact, and many factors, such as a person's environment, can affect how well one performs, intellectually speaking, though one's IQ usually hovers around a certain area of the scale. For Lisa to go from 159 to 156 is not unusual (a drop to, say, 136 would be much more cause for concern). She may just have had another test recently.

Xofer

Homer vs. Patty and Selma - S6-E17

Corrected entry: When Bart takes off his face mask during his ballet performance, all of his fellow dancers have disappeared.

Correction: Bart's doing a solo - the other dancers would have left the stage.

Lisa the Beauty Queen - S4-E4

Corrected entry: In the scene where Krusty is asking the girls questions, he reads off a cue card on what to say, but the problem is Krusty can't read.

Correction: In "Krusty Gets Busted" (season 1), we learn that Krusty can't read; however, this show takes place after that, by which point Krusty has probably learned to read somewhat (the cuecards, at least).

Xofer

Treehouse of Horror XIII - S14-E1

Corrected entry: How does Homer have 2 rifles and an assault rifle and many other guns when back when he first tried to get a gun he was only allowed 2 handguns or less?

Correction: The Halloween specials don't follow the continuity of the regular episodes - remember how many characters die in the Treehouse of Horror eps? Facts from the regular episodes don't have to be consistent in these Halloween specials.

Season 11 generally

Corrected entry: In the episode 'Beyond Blunderdome' one of the vehicles in the Hollywood car museum is Herbie the love bug. However, in 'Guess who's coming to criticize dinner' the same car is seen in Planet Springfield.

J&N

Correction: There was more than one model of the Beetle used in those movies - about 30 for 1968's "The Love Bug" alone! There could certainly be units in these two museums simultaneously.

Rooster of Doom

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7

Corrected entry: At the beginning of Part 1, we are told that the Simpsons are in Marrakech, Morocco. At the airport, however, we can see on the building 'Marrakesh Airport' - the spelling is different. (00:02:20 - 00:03:15)

Yoshi

Correction: Transliterations from other languages, especially unrelated languages, into English are inexact and even inconsistent. How many ways are there of spelling, in English, the name of the dictator of Libya? Gaddafi, Qaddafi, Kaddafi ...

The Blunder Years - S13-E5

Corrected entry: When Mr Smithers' father is about to go into the reactor core, he says that if it blows then the whole town is doomed. But he has the door wide open and nothing seems to be happening to him, Mr Burns or Smithers Jr.

Correction: Smither's father goes into the chamber and you can see in the shot he closes the large vault door (you can even hear it close behind him).

Who Shot Mr. Burns? (1) - S6-E25

Corrected entry: Groundskeeper Willie says that his father got thrown in the bog, yet in another episode he says that his father was hung for stealing a pig. Also in the episode with the Loch Ness monster, Willies father is alive and well.

Correction: Willy said his father was thrown in the bog instead of having a proper BURIAL (presumably for the pig offence). You're right about the Loch Ness episode though.

Skinner's Sense of Snow - S12-E8

Corrected entry: All the children have time to run out of the classroom, put their coats, hats, scarves and gloves on (which are probably in their lockers) in the time it takes for Skinner to open the blind on the window. There is no way they could have done this in such a short space of time.

David Mercier

Correction: Take into consideration that this is a cartoon and things are sometimes faster than real life. Also do you think Homer can survive several falls down into Springfield Gorge?

The Simpsons mistake picture Video

Show generally

Continuity mistake: This is a mistake for the introduction from seasons 2-20 (1991-2009). When Homer screams, he turns round. You see this in a wide shot. There are no boxes to the right of the door in the garage. However, two just appear out of thin air when he runs through the garage. (00:01:50)

Tree House of Horror X - S11-E4

[The Simpsons are driving down a road as fast as possible.]
Homer: Dear God, it's Homer. If you really love me you'll save my life now.
[The gas needle immediately drops to empty and the car stops.]
Homer: D'oh.
