Corrected entry: When Marty time-travels to 1885 and stashes the DeLorean in a desert cave, a black bear inexplicably appears and chases him. There are no bears of any species that inhabit the desert badlands.

Charles Austin Miller

Correction: The fictional town of Hill Valley, California, is not in any desert badlands. In BTTF III, a railway map shows Hill Valley as being in Northern California, near the Sierra Nevada Mountains, where there's lots of bears.

rswarrior

Correction: They may not live in the badlands, but they do travel through them. Several years ago, a bear in New Mexico made a journey of 70 miles through the desert from the forested mountains to the Pecos River near Roswell.

The Laws of Gods and Men - S4-E6

Corrected entry: After Davos has introduced Stannis with all his proper titles at the Iron Bank of Braavos, the clerk wrongly uses the title "Protector of the Realm" for Tommen. However Tommen doesn't bear this title because he is not old enough yet. Protector of the Realm at that time is Tywin Lannister.

Tanngrisnir

Correction: It's an understandable character mistake. Braavos residents don't use titles like Westeros, and the clerk is simply repeating all the titles that Davos recited, and probably just believes whoever sits on The Iron Throne is the recipient of all the titles.

Furious 7 (2015)

Corrected entry: In the scene when the transport is going over the cliff, and the challenger is spinning around to catch Brian, the overhead shot shows a spoiler on the trunk lid. In the next shot when Brian grabs for the car, it's a bar.

Correction: The Challenger has both a spoiler on the trunk, and crash bars below the trunk, protecting the tail end. The crash bars are what Brian grabbed onto.

Fast Five (2011)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Tyrese and Ludacris meet up, he has an old Ford, but a Chevy symbol on the grill.

Correction: No, that's the proper Ford Galaxie emblem on the grille. It looks similar to the Chevy bow tie, but it's not.

My Cousin Vinny (1992)

Corrected entry: In the final scene, Vinny and his fiancee are supposed to be driving north back to New York City in the late afternoon. However, the shadows from the sun are coming from the east (right side) of the screen. Therefore, either it is the early morning, or they were actually driving further south (not northward) to their home in NYC.

Correction: Roads don't always go directly to compass points. A major highway where I live goes east/west, but there are sections where you are driving north to go east, and south to go west, and a few miles down the road, you go east to continue west, and so on.

Corrected entry: When John Candy gets hit in the nose with the golf ball, there is no blood, no bruising, nothing. His nose would have been broken by the speed that ball was going yet when you see him in the rest of the movie, his eyes are not blacked, he has no swelling and doesn't even seem to have been hit.

Correction: How do you know his nose would have been broken? I've been hit in the nose by objects the size of a golf ball on my face while riding a motorcycle at 75 and more mph, and never had a broken nose or major bruising.

Used Cars (1980)

Corrected entry: Rudy and the gang plan to jam a Presidential address and substitute their commercial. Rudy informs them that the address will occur at 9PM their time. However that would require the President to begin his talk at 11PM Eastern Time.

goofyfoot

Correction: And why couldn't the president have an address at 11:00pm? There's no law that presidents have to have an address in prime time.

Corrected entry: As the Enterprise plummets to Earth, Sulu comments that unless the shields come back online, the Enterprise will burn up upon re-entry into the atmosphere. Yet by the time power is restored and shields are back up, the Enterprise is well within the Earth's atmosphere, as indicated by all the clouds above and below the ship. So how did the Enterprise survive re-entry without shields?

Teru_Kage

Correction: Because even though the Enterprise had entered the atmosphere, it doesn't burn up immediately, it takes time. Even so, you can see damage occurring to the Enterprise during re-entry, it wasn't unscathed.

Wanted (2008)

Corrected entry: Just after Wesley's first training with the Butcher, he's in the healing room. His left hand had been punctured by the knife, so it makes absolutely zero sense that his hand is not submerged along with the rest of his body.

Knever

Correction: The liquid in the healing room is not explained, nor does it need to be. As a result, the audience doesn't know what properties are involved with healing in the healing room. It's possible that just breathing vapors, or osmosis through skin while in the room can have a healing effect.

Reservoir Dogs (1992)

Corrected entry: Not long after Mr. White takes the little black book from Joe in the opening diner scene, Mr. White starts mimicking Joe by reading names from the book when a customer in the background walks up to pay his check. It look suspiciously like Steven Seagal. He has the cockiness, swagger and famous pony tail Steven Seagal sported when this film was made.

David Addison

Correction: Just watched the scene...it's definitely not Steven Seagal.

Under the Dome (2013)

Let the Games Begin - S1-E10

Corrected entry: A few episodes earlier there was a gunfight over Ollie Densmore's water, but in this episode we find out that there is a freshwater lake under the dome.

Correction: Fresh water doesn't mean drinkable water. A lot of lake water is polluted by boat motor exhaust (and we see Big Jim, for one, using a boat and motor), flora or fauna, or something like in the Valley I live in, selenium or other minerals which, in too high concentrations, are detrimental to health. Long story short, the lake water would likely have to be treated to be drinkable, and we aren't shown whether there is a water treatment facility in Chester's Mill.

Lock, Stock... (2000)

...And Spaghetti Sauce - S1-E4

Corrected entry: When the guys tape themselves as dead to hide Heinrich's death, they pop out the tape and send the Dutchmen to deliver it to Deep Throat. The camera uses micro cassettes, but the tape they leave at Deep Throat's shop is VHS, without copying from one to the other.

DavidRTurner

Correction: There are (or used to be) VHS adaptors, which you insert a mini cassette into, which allows a person with a VHS player to view tapes without copying. They look like regular VHS tapes when the mini cassette is installed.

The Island (2005)

Corrected entry: Dr. Marek's plan for "recalling" the defective agnates (aka killing all of the agnates developing their owner's memories), is to stage mass "Island" lottery winnings so the rest of the population doesn't catch on. However, they plan to regrow all of the destroyed agnates from scratch, which means they would be identical clones of the old agnates. This would not work out. Since the new identical agnates would have no recollection of their past life there, their friends, or winning the lottery, they wouldn't be able to be incorporated back into the agnate population. Everybody there would expect that all of those people already left for the Island. It would be too suspicious if none of them remembered anything, and also it would destroy the control derived from people believing being sent to the Island is a guaranteed trip to paradise.

Correction: Dr Marek's plan called for eventually killing ALL of the clones, not just the one's developing past memories. Besides, the colony was big enough that they would be able to keep new ones isolated from previous ones that might know them, until all of the population was replaced.

A Bronx Tale (1993)

Corrected entry: The second part when C is an adult is supposed to be in 1968, but a '69 Dodge Charger is parked across from the bar the whole time.

Roy Blankenship

Correction: Like most automakers, especially at the time, Dodge introduced the 69 Charger in mid 1968. These days it's possible to see a new model year added even earlier. I have a 2010 car, which was built in February 2009, and was at the dealer in April of 2009. I bought it in November 2009.

I am acutely aware of that, but this vehicle is not new nor is it in good condition.

Better Off Dead (1985)

Corrected entry: As Lane walks up to his Camaro, Monique is lying under it, and various engine components, including an internally regulated alternator (wrong year), a water pump, and a distributor with assorted wiring are on the ground. Monique then starts the engine. Pundits are sure to claim that she simply replaced the visible components, but that begs the question, where did she obtain the necessary funds. There's over $200 in pieces there, Monique does not have access to transportation, and auto parts stores don't usually deliver to retail customers.

Correction: Lane simply says he couldn't fix the car himself. He is surprised Monique has fixed the car, he doesn't seem surprised she has the parts. It's entirely possible he had the parts already, but was not confident enough, or mechanically inclined enough to install the parts himself. I've rebuilt a few cars, and generally it is much easier to collect all the parts beforehand and install them all when I have time to do it all at once.

Better Off Dead (1985)

Corrected entry: A side shot of the Camaro shows areas of Bondo on the driver's door and numerous scratches in the paint. Not only do they rebuild the engine, take the wheels off to have new tires installed, but they obviously repaint the door, and have the paint detailed...all in one day.

Correction: They got the car running, they didn't necessarily rebuild the engine. The paint was mostly faded, dusty and not terribly scratched; a buffer would make short work of that. The wheels are likely spare wheels already fitted with new tires, because the wheels at the beginning of the scenes are painted silver, and when they install the new tires, the wheels have been chromed. There's been some time involved because the car moves from the driveway to inside the garage as well.

Little Women (1994)

Corrected entry: When the March sisters decide to give their Christmas breakfast to the Hummels, Amy places an orange on the loaf of bread. An orange would be impossible to get in Massachusetts in the middle of the Civil War.

Correction: Why would it be impossible to get? California grew oranges, and sent food, supplies, some personnel to aid the Union Army during the Civil War.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: Based on references from Star Trek IV and TNG it has been made clear that the windows are made of transparent aluminium and not of glass, but when the saucer section crashes, some windows shatter like normal glass.

harry8472

Correction: Having wrecked my motorcycle in an accident, I can tell you that aluminum definitely shatters with enough force. There is a video on the Internet showing what happens when a .50 caliber bullet hits transparent aluminum (yes, it does exist) and at the impact point of the shot, you can see fragments that look very similar to shattering glass flying away it.

Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

Corrected entry: When Letty and Dom are sliding around Picadilly Circus, right after the slow motion, Letty changes gear. In order to do this, she clutches and shifts. But if you look closely, there are only two pedals: her Interceptor is an automatic. The pedal she actually hits, is the brake. Push the brake that hard during a high-speed drift in an old car like that and it will spin out of control in a massive cloud of smoke.

Friso94

Correction: Pushing the brake is one way of maintaining a drift and correcting steering when the steering wheel is already at its sharpest angle in an automatic equipped car.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: You can't swim in petroleum. The human body is much denser (and thus, would sink like a brick) when you would try to swim in it. Not only that, but the fumes above it are toxic, so you would also die of poisoning.

Friso94

Correction: Yes, the human body is more dense than petroleum, however it doesn't necessarily mean you'll sink like a brick. You also need to take into account a person's body mass, fat distribution, and lung capacity, all of which make it possible to swim for short periods of time in oil. As for the inhalation of the fumes, the toxic effects are not likely to manifest immediately. People have been purposely inhaling gasoline, glue, aerosols and other hydrocarbons for years, and it takes long term exposure to cause death.

rswarrior

Although, any ingestion of petroleum can cause immediate affects, such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and it would intensely burn your eyes if you got any in them. Speaking from experience.

They were in Venice. It is likely the tunnel was at or below water level. The petroleum is able to float on the surface of water. It is possible they would be able to swim underneath the layer of petroleum.
